During the Mexican war, the American army stationed at Corpus Christi got bored and staged a production of Othello. In this all-soldier play, the part of Desdemona was played by U.S. Grant.
2. Which president fathered the most children?

Answer: John Tyler

John Tyler, our tenth president, was 56 when his 15th child was born. He had 8 children with his first wife and 7 with his second.
3. Pauline Wayne was the pet of William Howard Taft and his family while at the White House. Pauline was a:

Answer: cow

Pauline Wayne was Taft's cow. She was a milk cow and was allowed to graze on the White House lawn.

Garfield learned this trick in college.

The cheese was 4 feet long, 2 feet thick, and weighed 1400 pounds. Jackson threw a huge farewell party for himself at the end of the presidency where the cheese was eaten and the White House was trashed!
10. Who was the first president not to have his food cooked in open fireplaces (i.e. the first to use a stove in the White House)?

Answer: Millard Fillmore

The new stove was a mystery to the kitchen staff. Fillmore himself had to go to the U.S. Patent Office, get the manual, learn how the stove worked, and instruct the staff in its mysterious operation.
