Answer: Paul Keating

Paul Keating was one of Australia's youngest Parliamentarians, when he won the seat of Blaxland, he was only 25 years old. Answer: Gough Whitlam

In October 1975 the Opposition parties in the Senate refused to consider the supply bills, and thus refused to grant supply to the government of the day. On 11th November 1975 the Governor-General "solved this constitutional crisis" by sacking the Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam and appointing in his stead the Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Fraser - who immediately requested a double dissolution of both houses of Parliament.

It is originally attributed to Thomas Ford (1580-1648) in the poem "There is a Lady Sweet and Kind".

10. Which Australian Prime Minister said, "By 1990 no Australian child will live in poverty"?

Answer: Bob Hawke

As Prime Minister in 1983, Bob Hawke had come to power during an economic crisis. He needed to restore economic and employment growth and provide financial assistance to low-income families.
