Answer: Scarlet Carson

Scarlet Carson is a fake name for the rose. It is actually named Scarlet Meidiland. The significance of this is that Valerie and her lover used to grow them in a window box. This is why V places them at the crime scene.

When Creedy and his armed escort of 12 men surround V in an underground station, V makes it clear that he will fight till the end, prompting Creedy to say, "You're not afraid of death. You're like me". This is certainly not how V sees it and this is what prompts the retort. The fact V is surrounded by armed men and has only knives adds a sense of anticipation when the quote is delivered. Mr. Creedy is the last of the individuals V specifically targets in his vendetta.

"The Bonfire Prayers", which is actualy just one long poem, is recited every November the Fifth. It has been declared Guy Fawkes Day and is considered a national holiday in England.

Evey knew the woman was lying, and found out Prothero didn't die from heart failure, but that V had killed him.

By processing her, they shave her hair and strip her of her clothes. She is thrown into a tiny, windowless cell and given food that only a resident rat will eat. She is periodically taken from her cell, interrogated and tortured, but she never reveals the identity of V.

The poem is known as "The Bonfire Prayer." The segment of it that we hear more than once in the film is: "Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot." This is, of course, a reference to Guy Fawkes, who attempted to destroy Parliament on November 5, 1605.

Answer: Father Lilliman

This conversation occurs when V tells the meaning of his personal motto "Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici". By saying "speaking of the devil", V refers to Father Lilliman and for the execution plan he needed help from Evey.
Father Lilliman, now a bishop, was a priest at Larkhill Detention Facility. He is the second of the three victims of V from Larkhill.

V says "Behind this mask there is more than flesh. Behind this mask there is an idea Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bullet proof." He also mentions in the movie that words will always retain their power over any subject. This scene happens at the end of the movie where V is finally killed and Mr. Creedy is killed. In my opinion words have all the power, depending upon how they are spoken.

V is talking to Evie in the "Shadow Gallery" about the principles of governance. This quote by V echoes Thomas Jefferson's statement, "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty". In England at the time the film is set, everybody fears the government to such an extent that people no longer say or do anything that could cause any offense. This quote is an important expression of one of V's core beliefs.

The Old Bailey is a high criminal court in central London that deals with major criminal cases in Greater London and, exceptionally, other parts of England. V destroys the building because it represents justice, whereas V represents anarchy.

Evey had a piece of paper with Gordon's address on it the first night she met V. Later at the Shadow Gallery, she looked at it again in hopes of escaping.

She was a young actress and was also gay. She fell in love with a woman and lived with her for many years - the best years of her life. However, once the Chancellor came to power, homosexuality was forbidden and both Valerie and her lover were taken away. Valerie wrote the letter on toilet paper, as her last testament, to be found by the next inmate. Valerie's letter gives Evey strength and comfort during her imprisonment.

Evey played Viola in the production. "V", a Shakespeare aficionado, is of course quite impressed. He even throws out a Viola quote to Evey at one point.

This is when V shows Evey the corner that he dedicated to Valerie (which has scarlet carsons and movie posters that Valerie was on) just before Evey would leave the Shadow Gallery.
Valerie was in the cell next to V at Larkhill. She wrote her autobiography on toilet paper in the cell. V possessed the letter there. Later, V put the letter in Evey's cell and made her believe that Valerie was the previous prisoner in that cell.

These words became scary as the world around her and her lover began to change. As the world she once knew, and the people she loved were "black bagged", not only those words became scary, but her everyday life became scary. All this was just because she was a lesbian.

V uses Evie Hammond's ID pass to break into Prothero's apartment while he is taking a shower. Unbeknownst to Prothero, at first, he had met (and mistreated) V many years before, while V was an inmate at Larkhill Detention Centre. He becomes doubly afraid moments later when he discovers who the masked man in his bathroom actually is. In this way, the "ghost of Christmas past" is actually an aspect of Prothero's past he had been trying to forget.

The Benny Hill Show, which was is syndication from 1969-1989, has been the front-runner in sketch comedy. His use of the filming style of undercranking, or speeding up the film, was typical in his parodies and made his jokes extremely hilarious.

With the flowers, V was avenging Valerie's death. Valerie used to grow Scarlet Carsons with her girlfriend, until they were both killed because they were "different".

Valerie says in narration "I was born in Nottingham in 1985. I don't remember much of those early years, but I do remember the rain." She is the reason for V doing what he is doing - getting back at the government for what they did to her.

Delia Surridge wakes up to find V in her bedroom. As many of the staff at the former Larkhill Detention Centre had been recently killed, Surridge had been expecting V to come for her. In the detention centre, she had experimented on inmates (including V) for research purposes. After she asks, "Are you going to kill me now?" V shows her a hypodermic needle and delivers the line above. V kills each of his victims in the film by poisoning them. He had already injected Surridge with poison moments before. The use of a hypodermic needle is significant because Surridge had used needles to infect inmates at Larkhill with a deadly virus for research purposes.

"Strength through Unity, Unity through Faith" is the official slogan of the dictatorship that has taken over England. It suggests that belief in the country and loyalty to the chancellor will make you a strong, willful person in that country.

Valerie wrote her autobiography on a piece of toilet paper while being kept at the Larkhill detention facility. V was in the cell next to hers, and kept the piece of toilet paper, which he passed down to Evey.

He asked her to dance earlier in the movie but it isn't until the end, on the eve of November 5th that she says yes. As they dance, you can see how much they love each other but V knows that his fate does not lie with Evey. He must see his plans through in order to give the people of England a better future.

This is when Evey tells V about her parents. Evey said that she would like to help V, but she first needed to tell him about herself. She says that her father used to say artists use lies to tell the truth while politicians use them to cover the truth up. And V replies "A man after my own heart."

This is when V, or William Rookwood, talks to both of the inspectors and says the following - "...and along comes a spider". The movie then shows a clip of Mr. Creedy, indicating that Mr. Creedy is the spider in the government. He believes that a specific individual should be a target rather than the country itself. A spider weaves its web and catches those who speak out against the government, hence his "black bagging" of those people.
