Answer: The F.B.I.
J. Edgar Hoover, who became Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935, was allowed to supervise the scripts to ensure the series was maintaining its authenticity. The story lines were taken from real F.B.I. cases, though the stories were told using fictitious characters. "The F.B.I." also featured a segment called "most wanted", where at the end certain episodes the show's star, Efren Zimbalist, Jr., would talk directly to the T.V. audience, asking for help in the apprehension of some of America's most wanted fugitives. "The F.B.I." ran for nine seasons, 1965 to 1974, airing a total of 241 episodes.
From Quiz: The TV Time Machine - Destination 1970
Answer: Cheryl Ladd
Farrah Fawcett-Majors was Jill Monroe; she got so popular (posters and all) that she left "Charlie's Angels" (1976-1979) in the second season and was replaced by her 'sister' Kris Monroe, played by Ladd. Fun fact: prior to this, in 1970, Cheryl Ladd was the singing voice of Melody on the animated series "Josie and the Pussycats". The other choices, i.e., Hack and Roberts were later 'angels', and Priscilla Barnes replaced Jenilee Harrison who replaced Suzanne Somers on "Three's Company".
From Quiz: TV Characters from the 1970s
Answer: Herschel Bernardi
Bernardi plays the title role of Arnie Nuvo, a blue collar long time dock worker employed by the Continental Flange Co., who unexpectedly receives a promotion to an executive management position in the company, a career move he neither anticipated nor was prepared for.
Arnie struggles to find a balance between his friends on the loading dock and his new white collar management cronies, lead by his boss, Hamilton Majors, Jr. (Roger Bowen).
Arnie uses good old "common sense" to handle and resolve problem situations that arose in his new position as "Head of Product Improvements".
"Arnie" aired on the CBS Television network for two seasons (1970-1972), completing 48 thirty minute episodes.
