Answer: Black and tan

Manchester terriers were originally called Black and Tans. No other colour is permitted. The name Manchester Terrier started to be used during the 1890's and was officially adopted by the Kennel Club of Great Britain in 1924.
2. Which type of animals were Manchester Terriers used to hunt during the 1800's?

Answer: Rats and rabbits

Manchester Terriers are not physically big enough or strong enough to hunt and kill foxes and badgers.

Answer: Royal Ratcatcher

Manchester Terriers are the only breed of dog to have held Royal Warrants. These were issued by Queen Victoria for rat catching.

Lens luxation means the lens of the eye can pop out of place. Manchester Terriers are also prone to epilepsy.

Answer: True

In 2007 it was the tenth rarest breed in Great Britain with only 113 dogs registered.
10. The Manchester Terrier was used in the development of another, much larger breed of dog. Which breed is it?

Answer: Doberman Pinscher

The Doberman Pinscher was created by cross-breeding various breeds of dogs including the Manchester Terrier, the German Shepherd, the Rottweiler, the German Pinscher, the Black Greyhound and various others.
