Who's The Most Underpaid Rancher? Quiz

When you picture a herding dog in your mind, you're liking picturing a dog like the Border collie, Australian shepherd, Shetland sheepdog, and the Pembroke Welsh corgi. They are not only incredibly athletic and intelligent breeds but have the ability to direct large fields full of cattle, sheep, or goats and round them up into a pen. When listing the most intelligent breeds of dogs, Border collies and Shetland sheepdogs typically rank in the top five of all breeds and the others are right there down the list.
The two least known herding dogs on the quiz are the Entlebucher mountain dog and the puli. The puli is an absolutely adorable dog that looks like a combination of a mop head or a luscious head of dreadlocks. The breed is very agile and nicknamed the "acrobat of the dog world". The Entlebucher mountain dog is a medium sized dog that looks a little like a black beagle. The breed originated in Lucerne, Switzerland.
As you can see many of the dogs have a European connection. The Belgian Malinois is known for its strength, intelligence, and the incredible bond with their human owners. The German shepherd was moved to the herding dog group and is most known for its loyalty, confidence, and use as a police dog. The Spanish water dog is known for its wooly curls and facial hair that can often cover its chocolate colored eyes. The Polish lowland sheepdog looks a lot like the Old English sheepdog (which is also part of the herding group). This breed is sometimes nicknamed PON which stands for Polski owczarek nizinny.
Cocker spaniels and English setters belong to the AKC Sporting dog group. Rottweilers, Akitas, Dogo Argentina, and Cane Corso are each members of the AKC Working dog group. Working dogs are those bred for a certain task while the Sporting class has dogs bred to help hunters.
