Chris von Wangenheim captured the iconic images of Carangi nude behind a chain-link fence in October 1978. This was Gia's first major photo assignment as well as the first time she had collaborated with Chris. Throughout her career, Carangi collaborated with Wangenheim on multiple fashion photos and eventually became one of his favourite models.
