1. Dr. Virginia Apgar
Answer: Medical
Dr. Virginia Apgar was an obstetrician who is best known for developing the Apgar Score, a test used to determine the health of newborn babies. The Apgar Score is both named after the doctor herself and an anagram of the five criteria: Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity and Respiration.
Dr. Apgar held a medical degree from Johns Hopkins.
2. Dr. Seuss
Answer: No Doctorate Degree
Dr. Seuss was the pen name of Theodor Seuss Geisel, the famous children's book author who wrote such classics as "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham". Geisel attended both Dartmouth College and Lincoln College, Oxford but never received a doctorate degree.
3. Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler

Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler was a fictional character on "The Big Bang Theory". She held a doctorate degree in neurobiology. She frequently experimented with different addiction treatments in monkeys and other animals. She was portrayed by Mayim Bialik who also has a doctorate degree, although hers is in neuroscience.
4. Dr. Jill Biden

Dr. Jill Biden became First Lady of the United States on January 20, 2021 upon the swearing in of her husband, Joe Biden, as President. She holds a doctorate degree in education that she earned at the University of Delaware. As First Lady, she continued teaching at the Northern Virginia Community College and was the first First Lady to have a paying job while in office that was not in government.
5. Dr. John Watson

Dr. John Watson is the fictional sidekick of Sherlock Holmes. He is a medical doctor and received his degree from St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College. Watson is the narrator of most of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Watson is very intelligent in his own right, but Holmes often gets the better of him.
6. Doc, from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves"

Doc, from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", may be the leader of the dwarves but he is not known to possess a degree. He, along with the other dwarves, works in a jewel mine. He wears glasses and appears to be the smartest of all the dwarves, despite mixing up his words on occasion.
7. Dr. Brian May

Brian May, guitarist for the band Queen, holds a doctorate degree in astrophysics from the Imperial College London. He has also served as Chancellor at Liverpool Johns Moore University. Since earning his degree, May has been active in a number of space missions, most notably NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto.
8. Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre is the stage name of the rapper born Andre Romelle Young. He is best known for founding Death Row Records which has signed and discovered a number of rap artists including Eminem and Snoop Dogg. Dr. Dre did attend some college classes but did not graduate and does not hold a doctorate degree.
9. Dr. Julius Hibbert

Dr. Julius Hibbert is a fictional character on "The Simpsons". He is considered the more competent of Springfield's two main physicians, despite his habit of chuckling at inappropriate moments. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Hibbert is a loose parody of Cliff Huxtable (played by Bill Cosby) as the two shows aired in the same timeslot beginning in "The Simpsons" second season.
10. Dr. Charles Drew

Dr. Charles Drew was a doctor best known for his work with blood transfusions and establishing blood banks. He was a rare, prominent African-American in his field which often led to clashes regarding segregation policies that were still in effect during his lifetime. He received two medical degrees from McGill University in Quebec.
11. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew

Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is a fictional character from "The Muppets" who holds an unspecified scientific degree from Carnegie Mellonhead University. Bunsen is known for his unusual (and often unsuccessful) inventions. He is aided by assistant Beaker.
12. Dr. Lucy Van Pelt

Lucy Van Pelt is a fictional character from the "Peanuts" comic strip. She is not a doctor of any sorts despite styling herself as such at her psychiatric booth for which she charges five cents. She dispenses questionable advice to her patients (specifically Charlie Brown) despite her arrogance.
13. Dr. Joseph Lister

Dr. Joseph Lister was a British surgeon best known for his work with antiseptic and medical hygiene practices. Prior to Lister's developments, it was not uncommon for patients to become infected and die from diseases caused by unhygienic practices. Physicians frequently reused unclean instruments on patients which often caused infections.
He received his degree from the University College London Medical School.
14. Dr. Ted Cruz

Texas Senator Ted Cruz holds a doctorate degree in law from Harvard University. Prior to becoming a politician, Cruz clerked for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. He then became Solicitor General for the State of Texas in 2003 before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012.
15. Dr. Gerald Barnbaum
Answer: No Doctorate Degree
Gerald Barnbaum was a fraudulent doctor who performed medicine without a license for at least twenty years beginning in 1976. He once worked as a pharmacist but did not have a medical degree in that field. He lost his pharmacist license in 1971 when he was convicted of fraud and then stole the identity of the real Gerald Barnbaum and opened a practice in Los Angeles.
In 1980, he was convicted of manslaughter after a patient of his died. After being released from prison, Barnbaum continued to practice medicine illegally and stole yet another doctor's identity.
