Byzantium was settled around 667 BC by King Byzas from Megara in Greece. The Roman emperor Constantine the Great significantly rebuilt the city on the Bosphorus strait around 330 AD and it was known for another millennium as Constantinople. The name Istanbul developed from Greek words "isten pouli" (approx) meaning "in the city," and became the official name in 1930. Kallipolis morphed into present-day Gallipoli, and Ilium was a name for Troy (hence the "Iliad").

7. What do the Canadian province of Saskatchewan and the U.S. state of Arizona have in common?

Answer: They do not use Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time (setting clocks forward an hour to allow for better use of daylight hours) is observed throughout most of North America. However, Saskatchewan (with the exception of a few border towns) stays on standard Central Time year round, and Arizona (with the exception of the Navajo Nation) stays on standard Mountain Time. Technically, Saskatchewan does observe Daylight Saving Time - permanently - they just don't go off of it.

The province is physically located in the Mountain Time zone but in 1966 elected to be considered part of the Central Time zone.

In the U.S., the state of Hawaii also does not observe Daylight Saving Time.

Answer: Wine farms

Stellenbosch and Franschoek, two of the most beautiful towns situated in the Western Cape region of South Africa, are certainly famous for their wine farms. There are daily tours which you can take, and each farm will give you a tasting of its wines.
