Answer: Brisbane

First settled by Europeans as a penal colony, Brisbane is now the third most populous city in Australia and the capital of Queensland. Named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, who was the Governor of New South Wales during the years 1821 to 1825, Brisbane was declared a city in 1859 when the state was separated from New South Wales and seen as a separate colony.

The administrative centre of one of the country's largest states, Brisbane is a haven for cultural and sporting events. In 1987 it formed a football team in the Australian Football League that was nicknamed the "Bears".

In 1996 the team merged with former Victorian club Fitzroy and changed its name to the "Lions".

Carlton is a suburb of Melbourne that is noted for its Victorian style architecture in particular the Victorian Trades Hall and the World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building which sits regally within the Carlton Gardens.
