Izmir sits near the Ancient Greek City of Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site only a short distance inland, and formerly the closest city to the Ancient Wonder known as the Temple of Artemis.

The Ionian Sea is a section of the Mediterranean along the European coast starting from the southern tip of Sicily, extending north to Salento, Italy, and crossing over to Albania, the Peloponnese of Greece, and the Ionian Islands (including Corfu and Ithaca). If you were to continue northward towards Croatia and Slovenia, you'd reach the Adriatic. It became a key part of the Incheon Free Economic Zone in 2003, becoming a critical component of South Korea's aim to become a tech and business hub destination.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo, or the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, are three distinctive peaks found in the Italian Dolomites in Northeastern Italy. Found near the Austrian border, they're some of the beautiful mountains accessible from the early Winter Olympic city of Cortina d'Ampezzo, due north of Venice.

It's one of many distinctive regions in a country containing everything from snow-capped Alps to sunny beaches to famous volcanoes to rolling, hilly vineyards.

With the Mediterranean making up the entire western coastline of the country and the Sea of Galilee, actually a lake, taking up a small part of the nation's eastern border with the Golan Heights, Israel is actually quite the narrow country, being no more than one hundred fourteen kilometres across at its widest expanse.

Inhabited for thousands of years, Israel contains still-inhabited ancient cities like Jerusalem and newer, modern destinations like Tel Aviv.
