Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

I had to take a break twice when writing this test from hunger pangs. I hope you were able to pick out the cheeses from the non-, and if on top of it you managed to be one of the few people in the world to try all of them, I applaud you.

THE CHEESES

Pule - Advertised as the world's most expensive cheese, this crumbly, donkey-milk cheese goes for up to $1,700 a pound.

Cougar Gold - A sharp, creamy cheddar that comes in cans made from the same bacteria that they have been using for the last 70+ years. Also, a certain Padre Esteban wanted me to mention that Cougar Gold is " produced by the fine people at Washington State University, the Little Harvard of the West". Happy to do so.

Algens Hus - Moose milk cheese, yep moose milk. Milked by hand...moose..milked by hand.

Casu Marzu - The only illegal cheese on this list. This Sardinian cheese is made with live maggots and also eaten that way. However, be careful the maggots can cause serious damage to your insides.

Mish - An Egyptian buffalo cheese that grows in a milk and spice bath making it both pungent and spicy.

Oscypek - Polish highland sheep's milk cheese that is made in the highlands and shaped into the foods that it was meant to be paired with - bread loaves, beer steins, and animal shapes. Less than 150 people are left who are qualified to make this amazing treat.

Kurt - Central Asian cheese balls that are made by straining all of the liquid out of a lump of cheese and then allowing it to harden. Pocket cheese.

Monk's Head - A semi-hard cheese from Switzerland. Though the reason for the name is in dispute, the lore around it is not. It is supposed to be shaved like a tonsure and eaten in extremely thin slices.

Roquefort - A mild sheep's milk blue, from France.

Brie - A creamy, soft French cheese, much like Camembert.

Feta - A crumbly goat's milk cheese from Greece.

Gruyere - A mild hard cheese from Switzerland.

Limburger - A pungent soft cheese from Germany.

Red Leicester - A mild version of a cheddar from England.

Stilton - Comes in blue and white. Both taste like a strong blue and it is generally harder than most other blues.

THE NOT-CHEESES

Cohiba, Cheroot - Types of cigars

Uigeadail, Pappy Van Winkle - Whiskeys

Pancetta, Szalonna - Amazing bacons..perhaps this will be the next project.
