Answer: Pink Elephants on Parade

Everybody's favourite animated elephant has got to be Dumbo. The song, "Pink Elephants on Parade" featured in the film when Dumbo and his good friend Timothy accidently got drunk on champagne. They started seeing pink elephants singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. "Give a Little Whistle" was taken from "Pinocchio" (1940), "You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!" was from "Peter Pan" (1953), and "Skumps" was taken from "Sleeping Beauty" (1959).

Answer: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Harrison Ford suffered a hernia while filming the 1984 Steven Spielberg film, "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". His character took a journey by elephant through the jungle to Pankot Palace in search of a sacred stone with magical powers. Accompanying him was a nightclub singer, played by Kate Capshaw, who often sprayed her elephant with perfume to get rid of the stench, and young Chinese boy, Short Round, who nicknamed his baby elephant Big Short Round.

Sabu Dastagir was born in India in 1924 and his father was a mahout, or elephant driver. Sabu took on the role as son of a mahout in the film "Elephant Boy". The film saw Toomai (Sabu) search for a herd of wild elephants with a group of hunters. They doubted the young boy's prowess until he stumbled across a large herd by accident.

Thereafter, they called him Toomai of the Elephants. In real life, Sabu moved to America in 1944 and featured in the 1947 film, "Black Narcissus". His life was cut short when he died of a heart attack aged 39. Baloo, Bagheera and Mowgli were all characters in "The Jungle Book", also written by Rudyard Kipling.

Answer: Bill Murray

Bill Murray was famous for his comedic roles in several films including "Ghostbusters" (1984), "Groundhog Day" (1993) and "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001). His role in "Larger Than Life" saw him play a motivational speaker who received a telegram to advise him of his father's death.

His father was a circus clown and he willed his son to take over ownership of Vera, a large and exceptionally well trained elephant. He was originally going to sell Vera for profit but he changed his mind after they bonded during a trek across America.

Answer: Heffridge Trumpler Brompet Heffalump IV

Lumpy the Heffalump had a leading role in the 2005 Walt Disney animated film, "Pooh's Heffalump Movie". Winnie the Pooh and friends went into Hundred Acre Wood to try and catch their enemy, the heffalump. Roo was told to stay behind as he was too young, but he soon went out on his own search and found baby Heffridge Trumpler Brompet Heffalump IV, otherwise known as Lumpy.

The two soon became friends but they had to persuade Winnie, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore and Piglet the same. Lampwick featured in "Pinocchio" (1940), Fflewddur Fflam in "The Black Cauldron" (1985) and Clopin Trouillefou in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1996).

The film took ten years in the making and told of circus producer and ringmaster, David Balding, and the 18 year old elephant Flora whom he nurtured from when she was orphaned at three years old, after a culling in Zimbabwe. He bought her up, trained her, loved her and then made the heart breaking decision of finding her a new home.

He was concerned, since elephants have a longer life span than humans, that he would not always be around for her. The home he eventually found for Flora was at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, where she still lives today with her very good friend Tange, another African elephant orphaned during a culling.

"Elephant Walk" also starred Peter Finch as the plantation owner and Dana Andrews as the plantation manager. Newlywed Elizabeth Taylor was brought from England to live at the main house on a tea plantation in Ceylon. She was oppressed by a dominant husband, and through loneliness, a burgeoning relationship started with the plantation manager.

At the same time, a herd of elephants were becoming increasingly hostile because the main house had been built on their migratory path.

"Babar: The Movie" took us to Elephantland, and the story of when King Babar defeated Rataxes, Lord of the Rhinoceros who wanted to make all the elephants slaves to help him build Rhino City. Jean de Brunhoff wrote his first children's book in 1934 called "The Story of Babar".

Other characters in the adventures of Babar included Zephyr the monkey, his wife Celeste, and their four children Pom, Flora, Alexander and Isabelle.

Answer: Hatari!

Hatari is a Swahili word which means danger. In the 1962 film, John Wayne played a hunter who had the dangerous task of capturing wild African animals to sell on to zoos. A Swiss wildlife photographer, played by Martinelli, joined the group of hunters and started to build up a reputation for attracting and nurturing baby elephants.

She was given the name Mama Tembo which in Swahili means Mother of Elephants.

Anthropomorphic is a word used to describe something that has been attributed with human features. These include the animal characters created by Walt Disney including Micky Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Elephanchine, the bubble blowing elephant from the 1940 animated film, "Fantasia".

The animals were given human characteristics which resulted in them being able to sing, talk and dance. The elephants seen in the films "Hannibal Brooks" (1969), "Operation Dumbo Drop" (1995) and "Larger Than Life" (1996) were all real.
