Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, "Belfast" is Mr. Branagh's memoir, on film, of growing up in Belfast, Ireland in 1969, during the strife known as "The Troubles". The line is spoken by Auntie Violet, played by Josie Walker, during one of the many debates the family has regarding whether to leave their home in Belfast or stay.

The bombings and violence keeps increasing so they are torn. Buddy is the little boy filling in for Branagh, and Auntie Violet is related to Buddy's mother, bravely showing up at family gatherings despite the intimidation by guards cordoning off areas of their neighborhood.

Troy Kotsur won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, playing the family patriarch, Frank Rossi, a benevolent father, sympathetic to his daughter's plight and enjoys joking with her even to the point of jokes pointed at his own and others' deafness. He signs this joke to his daughter Ruby.

The Rossis are a family in which all the members are deaf except for the daughter, Ruby who is hearing and does all the translating for the family along with juggling working on the family fishing boat, having a social life, and pursuing her dream to be a singer.

When two astronomers (Kate Dibiasky, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Dr. Randall Mindy played by Leonardo DiCaprio) discover that a comet is heading toward Earth and will destroy all life, they take their finding to the U.S. President, but the Administration rebuffs them. So the two scientists decide to go on a talk show hosted by Brie Evantee and Jack Bremmer (Cate Blanchett and Tyler Perry) to leak the news.

But that also proves ineffective. Mindy does however become a regular on the talk show and has an affair with Brie.

They talk about how they don't really know much about each other and Brie explains her displeasure with getting personal.

The Japanese drama "Drive My Car" explores guilt, betrayal, trauma, tragedy and sorrow through the experiences of a man directing a multilingual theatre production of Anton Chekhov's play "Uncle Vanya". The director, Kôshi Kafuku, played by Hidetoshi Nishijima, comes home one day to find his wife making love to a young TV star, Kōji Takatsuki. Sometime after that Kôshi returns home to find his wife has died of a brain hemorrhage. Two years later Kôshi has stepped back from the Chekhov play because its themes have hit him too close to home, as he explains to Kōji over drinks.

Interestingly, this line is spoken by Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam in the 1965 Frank Herbert novel "Dune", but in the 2021 film version "Dune", the line is spoken by Jamis (Babs Olusanmokun), in a vision that the film's hero Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) has while riding through the desert in a carriage. Jamis is a Fremen native warrior of the Sietch Tabr community on the planet Arrakis, and he appears to Paul mystically during Paul's carriage ride. Paul's journey in "Dune" is the story of gifted young man born trying to understand and fulfill his destiny which involves him facing danger on a planet in order to secure the future of his people, as he battles over control of the "spice" an incredibly powerful resource.

Richard William, the father of the real life tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams, speaks this line in the movie "King Richard". The film depicts how the two women's tennis stars evolved into who they became over the course of years of training from their father. Part of coaching his daughters has entailed relating stories to them about his past and his own parents, and the wisdom he picked up along the way. Along with sports instruction, it's this kind of emotional grounding that the film makes a case for being just as important, if not more so. And this quote was one of the many empowering pieces of advice the Williams sisters' father imparted to them, telling them it's something his own mother told him.

Bradley Cooper, as Stan, has taken up the scam of performing cold readings and other tactics, convincing the vulnerable that he can contact their deceased loved ones. Cate Blanchett plays Lilith, a psychologist who has descended upon the carnival act, seeking to expose Stan's act.

In addition to accusing Stan with that quote, they tell him, "You don't fool people, Stan.

These are the opening lines of the movie "The Power of the Dog". They are spoken over the opening credits by Peter Gordon, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee); he is the son of Rose Gordon (Kirsten Dunst). Then the movie begins in 1925, after those lines, in the state of Montana, on a ranch owned by two brothers, George and Phil.

After Phil has treated Rose and her son cruelly, George comforts them. Rose and George will later get married, but Phil's mistreatment continues. And later still, when Phil and Peter bond a little bit, Peter tells him about finding his father who had hanged himself. That is how his "father passed" as mentioned in the beginning.

In Steven Spielberg's remake of the classic "West Side Story" we have this scene, updating the argument dialogue in song, between Maria Vasquez (Rachel Zegler) and her sister Maria (Supporting Actress winner Ariana DeBose). Anita is enraged that Maria has found love with Tony of the Jets, the rival gang to the Puerto Ricans Sharks.

She is especially aghast since Tony is "A boy like that, who'd kill your brother?!" But Marias holds strong, bolstered by her feelings for Tony "I have a love and it's all I have..."
