1. Manic Street Preachers - "Sleep for a while and speak no words".

"Australia" is a track on the 1996 album "Everything Must Go". The song was a top ten hit in the British charts for the Welsh group.
"Everything Must Go" was the group's fourth studio album and won the 1997 Best British Album in the Brit Awards.
2. The Clash - "A voice spoke so cold it matched the weapon in her palm".

"This is England" was a track on the 1985 album "Cut the Crap" and was released as a single in September of the same year. This was the last single released by the band and was written by Joe Strummer and Bernard Rhodes. Apart from those songwriters, the other members of the group were Paul Simonon, Nick Sheppard, Vince White and Pete Howard.
3. Alphaville - "I will wait here for my man tonight".

"Big in Japan" was the very first single of the German band Alphaville and was also a track on the album "Forever Young" released in 1984. It was successful in various European countries and managed to reach number eight in the British charts.
Alphaville was formed in 1982 by Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens.
4. David Bowie - "I hear her heart beating as loud as thunder".

"China Girl" was written in 1976 by Bowie and Iggy Pop and featured on the debut album "Idiot" by Iggy Pop.
Bowie recorded the song in 1983 and was a track on the album "Let's Dance". The song reached number two in the British charts and number ten in the US.
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers - "We're rolling everybody, it starts with bass".

The song "Ethiopia" was a track on the 2011 album "I'm with You" which was the band's tenth studio album. The album was the first recording with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, following the departure of John Frusciante in 2009.
Five of the tracks on the album were released as singles.
6. Declan McKenna - "'Cause it's all we've ever wanted, and it's all that you want still".

"Brazil" was the 2014 debut single of Declan McKenna and was on the album "What Do You Think About the Car?" which was released in 2017.
The song was about the 2014 World Cup that was held in Brazil.
Declan was born in 1998 and he first came to prominence when he won the 2015 Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent competition.
7. Van Halen - "Jump back, what's that sound?".

"Panama" was the third single released from the album "1984", which was the band's sixth studio album.
Apparently the song was not about the country, but a car called "Panama Express" that lead singer David Lee Roth saw racing in Las Vegas.
The song got to number two in the US Mainstream Rock and number 13 in the Billboard Hot 100.
8. The Stranglers - "Only country where the clouds are interesting".

"Sweden (All Quiet on the Eastern Front)" was a track on the "Black and White" album released in 1978 by the Stranglers.
The album reached number two in the UK charts and stayed in the charts for 18 weeks.
The Stranglers, formed in 1974 in Guildford, Surrey, were Hugh Cornwell, Jean-Jacques Burnel, Dave Greenfield and Jet Black.
9. Bruce Springsteen - "The first kick I took was when I hit the ground".

"Born in the USA" was the name of Springsteen's seventh studio album and also the name of the first track on the album released in 1984.
It is one of his best known songs and was ranked 275th on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
10. Roger Whittaker - "You'll always stay with me here in my heart".

"My Land is Kenya" is a track on the 1989 album "Die Stimme für Millionen".
Roger Henry Brough Whittaker was born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1936 and died in Paris, France in 2023.
His 1971 single "The Last Farewell" became an international success.
Other well known songs of Roger include the 1969 "Durham Town (The Leavin')", and "New World in the Morning" in 1970.
