"And those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded ?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic ?

Bring me my of burning gold:

Nor shall my sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green and pleasant Land."

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

William Blake composed a poem titled "And did those feet in ancient time" around the beginning of the 1800s. The poem's lyrics were turned into the hymn known as "Jerusalem." Many years after the poem's initial publication, the music was composed. The arrangement's composer was Hubert Parry.

Although the national anthem for the UK is "God Save the King," England frequently plays "Jerusalem," which has evolved into an unofficial second national anthem, during sporting events like the Commonwealth Games, where each of the home nations is represented independently.

The hymn "Jerusalem" is sung in the closing sequences of the 1981 movie "Chariots of Fire."
