Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What colour was Chester's hair in this video, with what style?

Answer: red and black mohawk

Chester seems to think it's a good idea to change the colour of his hair and style of his hair everytime they shoot a music video. The Mohawk is short spiked with red and the rest of his hair is cut.
2. Which band member wasn't playing his instrument in the video?

Answer: Rob Bourdon

While everyone was playing their instruments, except for Chester and Mike, Rob was sitting on the couch listening to the bands music. At a number of points during the song you see Rob getting a little paranoid of all the weird things that are going on.
3. Who had his face brutally melted in the video by a special effect?

Answer: Rob Bourdon

During the end of the song, Rob becomes more paranoid of the weird things that are happening; his face becomes melted only for a few seconds. Other special effects in this video include: Mike's fingers enlarging, paintings morph out of the walls, freaky lab experiments in the room on the right, a giant pod in the experiment room releases insects known to be dragonflies, lights flicker quickly and a mummy in the corner of the room on the left shakes rapidly at the end of the song.
4. Who wore glasses in this video?

Answer: Chester

In various music videos Chester wears glasses, but that was only in four music videos ('Faint', 'Somewhere I Belong', 'Breaking The Habit' and 'Papercut').
5. This is a tricky one! Who had his fingers stretched in the video by another special effect?

Answer: Mike Shinoda

You have watch very carefully for this one as it only happens once; when Mike is done with the first part of the bridge you can just barely see his fingers stretch but they do stretch, only by a small fraction.
6. Another tricky one! At the end of the second chorus and the bridge, what was the colour of the lab jar seen when insects burst out of a pod?

Answer: red

A red beaker shaped-head jar was seen when the giant pod in the corner burst and released, what it looked to be, dragonflies. Shortly after that another dragonfly was seen perched on the jar's head.
7. In the room to the left of the band, on the wall is there writing, the lyrics to this song?

Answer: Yes

It's really hard to see it because most of the time that room was pretty dark but it did have the lyrics to the song on it. During the course of the second verse the camera pans to the room on the left and really the only word you can make out is: 'PARANOID' in huge white graffiti-like upper case letters.
8. When did the mummy creature, seen in the room on the right, move all about the most?

Answer: Final Chorus only

During the first verse he wasn't even moving about anywhere, there were only a few shots of him in his dead presence. During the chorus he didn't move either, but there was some kind of creature moving about on the ground. During the second verse we didn't see him at all since during that time the scene panned to the room on the left, however at the end of the second verse a shadowy figure was seen moving around! Again, during the chorus he didn't move, but at the end of the second chorus we see the mummy creature getting up and frantically beating against the back walls and against the walls on the other side where we saw Mike singing.
9. Which one of these WAS a special effect seen in the video?

Answer: Rotating bird statue

Sometime during the song a table statue of a bird (perhaps a phoenix) moves its head around and looks at the band. At the end of the song the statue moves its head back to its original position.
10. Final question, nothing to do with the video! Is this, in worldwide and in year terms, Linkin Park's first officially released video?

Answer: No

As it is the band's first song off their album 'Hybrid Theory', this wasn't their first music video; their first music video was for 'One Step Closer' which was released in 2000 while this music video was released in 2001. 'Papercut' was the band's third music video, after 'Crawling' and, of course, 'One Step Closer'.
