Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

People have been debating just how accomplished Ringo Starr was on the drums almost since he joined the group. And - opinions are varied. But what about his voice? Why didn't he sing more songs? The first choice for that answer might be that his voice wasn't needed. Look at the other vocalists in the group!

In addition, Ringo didn't really seem to care about being the front man of the group. He appeared to be reluctant to show off, and even refused to do drum solos that were longer than 15 seconds.

Lastly, it has also been said that Ringo's voice was too different from the other members of the band, and it didn't blend in well to get the affect that was wanted on every song. But there were a few Beatles songs - eleven to be exact - where Ringo took the lead.

He frequently sang cover songs on albums, such as "Honey Don't" from "Beatles for Sale" (1964) and "Matchbox" on "Past Masters" (1964), that were Carl Perkin's covers. "Boys" from "Please Please Me" (1963) was a cover from the Shirelles, and, oddly enough, "I Wanna Be Your Man", that was found on "With the Beatles" (1963), was a Rolling Stones cover that had been written by Lennon and McCartney. They decided they didn't like the song and temporarily tossed it aside. Starr also sang "Act Naturally" from Buck Owens on the "Help" (1965) album.

"Good Night", found on "The Beatles" (1968), which was also known as the "White Album", was written by Lennon and McCartney, as was "With a Little Help From My Friends" on "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967), and "Yellow Submarine" on "Revolver" (1966). Finally, "What Goes On" on "Rubber Soul" (1965) was credited to Lennon-McCartney-Starr; all these songs featured Ringo on lead vocals.

Two of the songs on the list, "Don't Pass Me By" from "The Beatles" (1968) and "Octopus's Garden" from "Abbey Road" (1969), were written by Ringo himself, although it is still debated as to how much help was given by George Harrison on "Octopus's Garden".

So let's give Ringo some credit here. He was a great drummer for the group, and a very popular member as well. His roles in their old movies are funny. Those old music videos do still feel a bit awkward, though, don't they? When the others are walking around the park playing guitars, Ringo is just standing there. There is one version of the video, "I Feel Fine" (1964), where he is there but riding an exercise bike. Yikes! But never forget! Ringo has had an enormously successful solo career after the Beatles.

The incorrect choices on the list are songs that were sung by George Harrison.
