Freddy Cannon was Frederick Anthony Picariello from Swampscott Massachusetts. He played guitar on the G-Clefs' "Ka-Ding Dong" which reached number 24 on the US pop chart in 1956. He got his big break when Swan records released "Tallahassee Lassie" and his appearances on Dick Clark's (part owner of Swan records) TV show "American Bandstand".
