Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which US state did John Denver think was 'almost heaven'?

Answer: West Virginia

These are lyrics from "Country Roads". In this song he also mentions the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River.
2. The Dead Kennedys have a song called "Holiday in ______". Can you fill in the blank?

Answer: Cambodia

"Holiday in Cambodia", from the album "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables", may be The Dead Kennedys' most famous song. It has been covered by many bands, including Richard Cheese, Laaz Rockit, Earth Crisis, and Sister Double Happiness.
3. Who recorded the song "Mexican Radio"?

Answer: Wall Of Voodoo

"Mexican Radio" was a one-hit wonder for Wall of Voodoo. It was released in 1983. Wall of Voodoo was formed in 1977 and broke up in 1989.
4. Which of these countries is also a Van Halen song from the album "1984"?

Answer: Panama

"Panama" was Van Halen's third single off of "1984". The B-side was "Drop Dead Legs". It was also Van Halen's fifth top twenty single, peaking at 13 on the Billboard charts.
5. Three Dog Night has a song called "Never Been to _____".

Answer: Spain

There is a line in the song that says "Well, I've never been to England, but I kind of like The Beatles", but the title (and the first line of the song) deals with Spain.
6. Who said "I Left my Wallet in El Segundo"?

Answer: A Tribe Called Quest

El Segundo is in Southern California. Arrested Development had a song called "Tennessee".
7. Which of these is NOT a Beatles song?

Answer: "Going To California"

"Going to California" is a Led Zeppelin song.
8. Duran Duran sang a song about a girl. Her name was the same as a place. Which place am I talking about?

Answer: Rio

Okay, that was pretty easy. Duran Duran also recorded the theme song to the James Bond movie "A View to a Kill".
9. Who sang "Going Back to Cali"?

Answer: LL Cool J

LL Cool J has also acted. He was in the movie "Toys" with Robin Williams.
10. Who has NOT recorded a version of "Anarchy in the U.K."?

Answer: The Rolling Stones

The Sex Pistols recorded (and wrote) the original song. Motley Cure recorded it for "Stairway to Heaven, Highway to Hell" and it is the third track on Megadeth's "So Far, So Good... So What?" album. I think Sir Mick Jagger has more reverence for the throne.
