Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Usain Bolt

Answer: Speed Demon

When he was active, Usain Bolt won three consecutive gold medals at the 100m sprint, effectively making him the fastest man in the world. He also broke the world record for the 100m sprint several times. As of early 2024, the Jamaican's 9.58 record, set in 2009, still stands as the world record for the event.
2. Leonardo da Vinci

Answer: Polymath

There is a reason that the main airport in Rome is named after this absolute genius. Da Vinci was a painter, sculptor, architect, mathematician, engineer, and scientist. His fields of interest varied from human anatomy all the way to mechanical engineering and powered flight. He died at the age of 67 in France, and has been revered as a genius of arts and sciences since.
3. Nostradamus

Answer: Fortune Teller

Michel de Nostradame is a French purported seer and astrologer who published his controversial book "Les Propheties" in 1555 with over 900 poems predicting future events. Most academic sources vehemently reject the idea that Nostradamus actually had any ability to see into the future, but his works have a healthy following among people who believe that he had been able to accurately predict some events well before they occurred.
4. Stephen King

Answer: Super Author

The Maine-born American author is also known as the "King of Horror", although many of his books explore other themes, including science fiction, crime, and fantasy. Many of King's books, notably Carrie, the Shawshank Redemption, and the Green Mile, have been adapted into blockbuster films and cult classics.
5. Annie Leibovitz

Answer: Best Picture

The American photographer is best known for her portraits of celebrities. Perhaps her best known picture was that of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for "Rolling Stone" magazine, taken merely hours before the English singer was shot dead in front of his house. She became the first woman to have an exhibition at Washington's National Portrait Gallery.
6. Alan Turing

Answer: Code Breaker

The British computer scientist and mathematician was one of pioneers of the computing age; he was the leader of a group of codebreakers at Bletchley Park during World War II that were attempting to decrypt the German "Enigma", a task that would eventually prove successful and pay dividends towards the Allies' chances of winning the war.
7. Muhammad Ali

Answer: Knockout Hero

The heavyweight boxer was credited with 37 knockouts during his storied career, but what stood out about the "Louisville Lip" is that he was just as effective as a trash talker and modern-day philosopher. He was the winner of two of the most memorable boxing bouts in history, the "Thrilla in Manila" against Joe Frazier and the "Rumble in the Jungle" against a younger George Foreman.
8. Winston Churchill

Answer: Leader

After Great Britain declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939, Winston Churchill was soon appointed Prime Minister. For his wartime leadership, he is considered one of the greatest statesmen in British and world history. He was particularly noted for his excellent oration, which kept British morale during German bombardment during the early years of the war.
9. Paula Radcliffe

Answer: Endurance

Even though she never won an Olympic medal, the long-distance British runner won three London Marathons and three New York marathons. She also held the Women's Marathon record for 16 years between 2003 and 2019 with a time of 2:15:25 until it was broken by Kenyan long distance runner Brigid Kosgei.
10. Jim Corbett

Answer: Cat Hunter

The Indian-born British naturalist and hunter was called upon to exterminate many man-eating tigers and leopards in India in the first half of the 20th century. One of the tigers he killed, the Champawat Tiger, was responsible for the deaths of over 400 people.
