Answer: Dave Stewart

Stewart balked an unprecidented 16 times in 1988 for the Oakland A's. The A's went to their first of three consecutive World Series that year, losing to the underdog Dodgers in one of the most dramatic Fall Classics in history. Ironically that same year, Rick Honeycutt (Stewart's teammate) balked four times in a game tying an AL record held by five pitchers. Bobby Witt and Gene Walter are two of the players that also committed four balks in a game, and they all did it in 1988 as well.

Answer: Ken Griffey Jr

In 1997, Griffey swatted 24 homers through May 31st, putting himself in position to possibly break the season home run record. By June 30th he had 32, still more than any American Leaguer in history. Foxx and Ruth had 41 through July 31st, and Maris set a record through August 31st with 51.
