2.12 "The Drop In" Trivia Quiz

The episode began with events in the Situation Room and Leo entered and asked to be connected to The Pentagon. Leo asked someone if they could hear what the Pentagon was saying at Command and the person said yes. Leo wondered why he could not hear anything at first but then he heard a voice on the other end.

President Bartlet was first seen in the oval office speaking to someone named Mr. Sumatra, Thailand's ambassador, about sports. He asked him if he liked them and Mr. Sumatra replied that he was a fan of golf. President Bartlet replied that he did not find golf a sport and to not confuse it with things men do.

Answer: Bangkok

President Bartlet continued to talk to Mr. Sumatra and he informed him how he was going to be visiting Bangkok in June. He also let him know how he was staying at a hotel called the Oriental and Mr. Sumatra stated how James Michener wrote a lot of his books while at that hotel. He also informed President Bartlet how Michener's typewriter was in a suite they named for him.

C.J. gave a press conference regarding a ceremony which The White House was hosting regarding ambassadors and commented on how beautiful it was. She stated they chatted for a few moments and then they exchange gifts. A reporter asked if they were accepting four new ambassadors and about the order in which they would be presented with gifts at the ceremony. C.J. responded there were four new ambassadors and the order corresponded to when they arrived in Washington.

C.J. walked down a hall and spoke of information she knew on Burkina Faso and then Sam called for her. C.J. asked him if he knew about the chief crops of Burkina Faso but he said he had no idea about anything related to their crops. She responded how they had millet, sorghum, rice, peanuts and cotton.

Answer: Global Defense Council

While Sam spoke with C.J., he informed her as to how President Bartlet had made plans to make an address to the Global Defense Council the following day and C.J. remarked how she thought he had passed on them a while back. Sam remarked he passed on it three months ago when he had a trip to South America but he canceled that trip. Sam asked C.J. to give a statement regarding one component of the president's speech, the Clean Air Rehabilitation Effort (C.A.R.E.).

Answer: Toby Ziegler

In one scene, Sam asked to speak to Toby and he thought he was on the phone but someone pointed to where Toby was and he was in the next room. Sam went to talk to Toby and asked him how his trip was. Toby remarked he had a good time and then they began to discuss President Bartlet's address to the Global Defense Council the next day at the Sheraton hotel.

It was mentioned in their conversation that Toby went to Kansas City.

Josh was on the phone with Donna and they discussed a man named Sir Christopher and C.J. began to annoy him. He remarked to C.J. how he was standing with his back against the wall as his doctor advised him this would help. As Josh stood against the wall, Donna entered his office and the door accidentally hit Josh. He told her he was alright.

Isaac guest starred as Tada Sumatra for "The West Wing." Tada Sumatra was an Ambassador to Thailand and attended a ceremony at The White House involving all ambassadors. Isaac played Tada Sumatra for just this episode only. He has also guest starred on the TV shows, "JAG", "The Shield", and "Coach."

Answer: Rocky Carroll

Carroll, born on July 8th, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio starred as comedian Corey Sykes. Corey told what was perceived to be an offensive joke on President Bartlet and C.J. went to New York to dissuade him from telling anymore jokes. Carroll played Corey in just this episode. He has also guest starred on the TV series', "ER", "Grey's Anatomy", and "Law & Order."
