Question 1 of 10
1. I arrived in Sunnydale at a pivotal moment in time, hoping to help Angel on his path. It was too late for that, of course, as Angelus was trying to awaken Acathala. What I was able to do instead was impart to Buffy a bit of wisdom, "the sword isn't enough, you have to know how to use it". Which good-natured demon was I? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. My brother Tucker was infamous for his raising of hellhounds at Prom time. Then, I told everyone my initial claim to fame was setting flying monkeys loose on the high school, though no one seemed to have any recollection of it happening. I was evil for a fraction of time, as I followed Warren, but was quickly swayed back to the side of good after I killed my pal Jonathan. Which member of the weak willed Trio was I? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. I'm from the home dimension Pylea, and I spent time in two different seasons as a side character on "Angel". My name meant "brave and undefeated" in my native tongue (which seemed to be English), and I was tasked to fight Angel before he escaped back to Los Angeles. Which physically impressive, yet kind and thoughtful, Pylean am I? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. I loved the slayer, but believed she did not love me. When we met, I kept my secret identity.. well, secret. But, it turned out that two secrets can cancel each other out, and after much contemplation, she decided to give our attraction a chance to grow. As time wore on, though, my insecurities surfaced, and I sought solace in the arms of various vampire ladies. Soon afterward, I left Sunnydale in a midnight helicopter ride to some remote location. Which of Buffy's human lovers was I? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Whether or not I was truly evil was always a matter of some speculation. I did have some "evil hand" issues right before I decided to leave town. But, I carried my vendetta against Angel and returned to enact revenge on him in the final season of "Angel". I could carry a tune, sport a tattoo, and I was killed by Lorne, but which of Angel's enemies was I? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. I have a special distinction in the world of "Buffy" as the first one of her friends to be killed and turned into a vampire. Buffy met me on her first day at school in 1997, along side mutual pals to be Xander and Willow. I had a crush on Cordelia, and was kind of geeky, but gained confidence as a vampire. It was insinuated that Darla was my sire, but not made clear before I was staked inside the Bronze in the second episode. Which of Buffy's human acquaintances was I? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. I was the creator of the karaoke bar Caritas. It was by what seemed to me to be the most pleasant of accidents that I arrived in Los Angeles. I never questioned the why or how I got there, but took full advantages of my powers to help send people and demons on to their true destinies. My bar was a sanctuary, literally, and I met Angel through Wesley in season two. The gang of Angel Inc. helped destroy Caritas three times, so I finally gave up and moved into the hotel. Which of Angels' demon pals, who spent time in Las Vegas, was I? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Xander once described me as being small enough to fit in his shaving kit. I sort of fell in love with Willow from a distance, and eventually became her first serious relationship. I was initially just a regular human, until my cousin Jordy bit my finger, turning me into a werewolf. I left Sunnydale for good in season four, but reappeared in the canonized comic book continuation. Which of these supernatural characters was I? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. As half demons go, I was basically a good one. When I found out about my demon side, I kind of freaked out and ruined my marriage. Fortunately, I was able to redeem myself by helping Angel rescue people. The first person we rescued together was a waitress named Tina. Which of Angel's half demons was I? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Maybe I'm last in the quiz because people save the best for last? Yes, I am arrogant enough to believe that is true. As a human man I was a sappy poet, nicknamed William the Bloody. When I became a demon, I received a new nickname based on my favorite torture device at that time. I embraced my new nickname and carried it with me over a hundred years. I even continued to use it after I regained my soul for the woman I loved. Which arrogant demon with a soul am I?

Answer: (1 word demon nickname, 5 letters)

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Whistler

Whistler (played by Max Perlich) arrived in town in the season two, two part finale "Becoming". He'd been the one to save Angel from living in rat infested sewers, while Buffy was called as a slayer. That was the time that Whistler had actually set Angel on his path. Coming to Sunnydale later was, unknowingly to him, helping Buffy defeat Angelus, which also continued Angel on his true path. Buffy took his advice, stuck the sword into Angel, and sent him into a hell dimension for around a hundred years. Doyle, Merle and Lorne were all exclusive characters to "Angel", and David Greenwalt has talked about the fact that Whistler was the original pick for Angel's link to the powers that be, but Max Perlich was unavailable at the time of shooting season one.

Answer: Andrew Wells

The Trio consisted of Warren Mears, Jonathan Levinson, and Andrew Wells (actor Tom Lenk) during season six. Willow killed Warren at the end of that season, after he accidentally shot and killed Tara. So, Jonathan and Andrew fled to Mexico for their safety.

When the First started coming to visit Andrew, he talked Jonathan into returning to Sunnydale, where he was sacrificed by Andrew to the Seal of Danzalthar. Andrew was captured by Willow while buying blood at the butcher shop, and became the group's hostage. During his time at Buffy's home, Andrew reverted back to the decent human he was inside, as he truly enjoyed being a follower.

After their fight against the First, Andrew was tasked to bring in a rogue slayer Angel and Spike had captured in Los Angeles.

He made two appearances on "Angel" in its final season. Owen, Parker and Scott were very brief love interests of Buffy's over the seasons.

Answer: Groo

All of these characters originated in Pylea, as we found out when season two came to a close. Known as the Host until Cordy had her first vision of Fred, Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan had arrived in Los Angeles five years earlier when Fred accidentally opened a portal to Pylea. Lorne, as he preferred to be called, love Earth and had zero interest in returning to Pylea.

When the gang sent his cousin Landok back to Pylea, Cordy was sucked into the portal as well. This forced the gang, including a reluctant Lorne, to find a way there to save her. Groosalug was a human/demon hybrid with impressive physical prowess and had never lost a battle.

He and Cordy were destined to do the royal comshock so she could pass her visions to him, but she refused to give them up.

He came to Los Angeles in season three, and they spent time as a romantic couple. But, he realized she was in love with Angel and left quietly. Mark Lutz played Groo. Joss Whedon played Numfar.

Answer: Riley

Riley Finn was Buffy's human love interest from season four through season five, which equated to approximately one year in real time. She met him while he worked for the Initiative, and pumped up on drugs to make him stronger. Having already survived one office romance, Buffy was not too willing to jump into another one. But, seeing him in action by her side in "Doomed", made her decide to give it a shot. She did love him, but when Dawn arrived on the scene and Buffy learned her true responsibility, she started to pull away. It was partly because she and Giles kept Dawn's purpose a secret from the entire gang for months, and that included an already insecure Riley, and partly because her mom was fighting for her life and Buffy was the grownup. Riley felt left out and unneeded, and turned to vampire women for contact. Spike found out, ratted him out to Buffy, and she was furious. She felt betrayed, and when he pressed her to basically deal with it in a few hours, she elected to let him go. Xander convinced her she'd be sorry, as Riley was the keeper (not a rebound), but she did not get to Riley in time to stop him. He returned in season six with his wife Sam, in order to get Buffy's help stopping a dealer named The Doctor. The Doctor turned out to be Spike. Marc Blucas played Riley, and he did become a main cast member after awhile. He went on to star in the TV series "Necessary Roughness", and Sam was played by Ivana Milicevic. She went on to star in the cable series "Banshee".

Xander and Buffy were never lovers, though she did do a sexy dance for him in the season two premier episode. And, it was unclear if Buffy did have an intimate encounter with RJ Brooks in season seven, though it really did look like they did.

Answer: Lindsey

The true evilness of all of these characters was called into question more than once. Let's face it, good and evil can always be a slippery slope in the world of television. But it was Lindsey McDonald, appearing in the very first episode of "Angel" as a puppet of Wolfram and Hart, who just couldn't let go of a need to seek revenge against Angel.

He probably hated that he'd gone to Angel for help, allowing Angel to see any of his humanity. Angel ended up cutting off Lindsey's hand in the season one finale, in order to retrieve a scroll needed to save Cordy. I guess Lindsey should have just let him have it. Lindsey ended up getting a new hand in season two, but it caused him some issues until the original owner had been killed.

He decided then that he was over it, and ready to concede the battle for Special Projects manager to Lilah Morgan.

He left town, jaded by his experiences with his job, Darla, and Angel, to seek something new. He returned in season five all tattooed up to hide from the senior partners, and helped Eve play Angel as they wished.

He was discovered, sent to a holding dimension, saved from it by Angel and Gunn, and aided in the final battle against the Circle of the Blackthorn. Lorne's final task for Angel was to kill Lindsey after he'd served his purpose. Lindsey was outraged. He said Angel was supposed to kill him, not a flunky like Lorne. Lilah was killed by the beast master, aka Cordy/Jasmine. Darla staked herself to save Connor, and Spike died saving Buffy from the First. He did return, of course, nineteen days later in Los Angeles. Lindsey was responsible for Spike's return as well. Christian Kane played Lindsey in three different seasons of "Angel" and then went on to star on the series "Leverage".

Answer: Jesse

Jesse McNally had been friends with Xander for awhile, and Buffy met Jesse, Xander, Willow, and Cordelia all on her first day of school. Jesse was captured by Darla, and others in the Order of Aurelius in episode one, but Willow and Xander had been spared.

The Order used Jesse as bait to lure Buffy down to the Master's holding cell, but she and Xander escaped mostly unscathed. It wasn't until episode two, during the Harvest with Luke, that Jesse came to the Bronze and was staked (kind of accidentally).

Sheila and Harmony were also turned into vampires, but they were never seen to be friends with Buffy. Sheila became a vampire in season two, and Harmony at the end of season three. We didn't even know about Harmony until the season four episode, "The Harsh Light of Day". Eric Balfour played Jesse, who didn't seem to be too missed by Xander after his death. I guess Xander was too occupied with his attraction to Buffy to think much about it. Eric went on to guest star on many shows, including several episodes of HBO's "Six Feet Under".

He started as a series regular on the Syfy network series "Haven" in 2010.

Answer: Lorne

All of the choices were demons of some kind, though Doyle was half human. Lorne, known initially as just the Host, arrived from Pylea to Los Angeles. He was so happy by that turn of events, he created Caritas in the place he arrived at. Darla would later stake herself in that location as well, allowing Connor to be born there.

The Beast would also arrive in that location, further cementing the destiny of that portal location. The Beast did not arrive through a portal though. After the bar was destroyed the third time, by Holtz, Lorne gave up and moved into the hotel.

After Connor returned from Quor'toth, he was not a fan of anything demon related (thanks to being raised by Holtz), and Lorne elected to go to Vegas for awhile. After he got there, he was held hostage and forced to aid a man in stealing the destinies of anyone who had a big one.

He was eventually saved by Angel, Gunn and Fred, and returned to Los Angeles. Andy Hallett played Lorne for four seasons, becoming a main cast member over time.

He passed away not too long after the series ended.

Answer: Oz

Daniel Osbourne, better known a Oz, was played by Seth Green from seasons two through four. Oz appeared once after his final departure from Sunnydale. It was in Willow's dream sequence in "Restless". Oz saw Willow as an Eskimo and a sexy ghost before he had the chance to get to know her personally, but the two quickly fell in love.

They had a brief breakup in season three, after Oz and Cordy caught Willow and Xander in a romantic embrace. They reunited and became lovers at the end of season three. But, eventually the werewolf side of him became a liability and he left town to find a cure.

He did find ways to keep his wolfy side contained, but his intense feelings for Willow made it impossible to keep cool around her. So, he left again, this time for good. Willow and Tara became a couple immediately afterward, and only broke up for a short while in season six before Tara's death at the end of that season. Tara's death brought forth evil Willow, or Darth Rosenberg as Andrew called her, but Xander saved her. Chris Epps was human, but he tried to create a Frankenstein like woman for his zombie brother Daryl. Angelo Spizzirri played Chris.

He passed away in 2007, at the age of 32.
9. As half demons go, I was basically a good one. When I found out about my demon side, I kind of freaked out and ruined my marriage. Fortunately, I was able to redeem myself by helping Angel rescue people. The first person we rescued together was a waitress named Tina. Which of Angel's half demons was I?

Answer: Doyle

Allen Francis Doyle was sent to Angel in the first episode to set him on his path. That character was originally going to be Whistler, as I discussed earlier in this quiz. Doyle was half Brachen demon, and he received visions from the PTB, powers that be.

In Angel's quest to help Tina, he ended up running into Cordelia at a party. It was this party that brought Cordy to the attention of Russell Winters, the vampire who ended up killing Tina. Though he saved Tina, but then lost her afterward to Russell, this entire series of events brought Angel, Doyle and Cordy together to form Angel Investigations. Doyle sacrificed himself to save Angel, Cordy, and a group of half-demons in the episode "Hero", but not before he passed the visions on to Cordy.

It was never clear if he knew he was doing it, but later it was insinuated that Jasmine had orchestrated that when she was one of the powers that be. It was a long line of manipulation by her to get a ride inside Cordy back to Earth. Glenn Quinn, maybe best known for his role as Mark Healy on "Roseanne", played Doyle.

He was able to use his native Irish accent playing Doyle. He passed away in 2002 of an accidental drug overdose. Gunn was totally human, and Gwen was a self proclaimed "freak" who attracted and discharged electricity with her touch. J. August Richards played Charles Gunn, and Alexa Davalos played Gwen Raiden. Alexa was in the 2010 film "Clash of the Titans" and in the 2013 series "Mob City". In 2013 J. August Richards began starring in Joss Whedon's TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".

Answer: Spike

Both Spike and Angel originated with a similar human name. William and Liam became Spike and Angelus, and Angelus later became Angel. As a human, William desired the upper classed Cecily, who rejected him handily when he approached her. He left her, and the party they attended, upset and humiliated. On the streets of London, he bumped into Drusilla, Angelus and Darla. We later learned that Angelus had just encouraged Dru to make herself a playmate, so she took the opportunity to change William the Bloody into a vampire. Afterward, he liked to use railroad spikes to torture people, so the nickname of Spike stuck forever after. At the end of "Buffy" season six, Spike went to seek out his soul. He suffered several trials, but in the end he got what he sought. In season seven, when Buffy asked Spike why he wanted his soul back, he said he did it for her, to get back the "spark" so she could let herself love him. Angelus had his soul forced on him twice seen on "Buffy" and once on "Angel", each time turning into Angel the champion of the innocent. Angelus never requested his soul on his own, as there was nothing human left inside him. Spike became a main character first on "Buffy" and then later on the final season of "Angel". James Marsters (Spike) and Anthony Head (Giles) later appeared on "Warehouse 13" at the same time. Former "Buffy" writer/producer Jane Espenson co-created that series with Brent Mote.

Please NO corrections- William the Bloody was his human nickname, given to him by mean people for his "bloody awful poetry". And he DID seek out his soul, it was not given to him as a trick. Both the character of Spike made that clear in season seven and on "Angel", as has Joss Whedon. Thanks!
