Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "The Flintstones"

The first animated television series to debut on prime time was the family from Bedrock. The show ran from 1960 to 1966. In 2013, "TV Guide" magazine named "The Flintstones" the second best animated series of all-time behind "The Simpsons".
2. "The Bullwinkle Show"

"The Bullwinkle Show" ran until 1964 after debuting on primetime television on NBC on a Sunday night in 1961. The show saw name changes as the years went including "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" and "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show". We learned about Rocky, the flying squirrel, Boris Badanov, the villain, and Mr. Peabody on the show.
3. "The Jetsons"

Hanna-Barbera saw the huge success of "The Flintstones" and continued the pattern in outer space with "The Jetsons" two years later. The show debuted on Sunday nights in 1962 and introduces us to flying cars, robot maids, and Astro the Wonder Dog.
4. "The Simpsons"

What can you say about "The Simpsons"? The animated show debuted in 1989 after appearing as a sketch on "The Tracey Ullman Show". The series developed by Matt Groening became the first FOX television series to rank in the Top 30 shows of the year. By 2023, "The Simpsons" surpassed 700 episodes.
5. "Beavis and Butt-head"

Mike Judge created a number of animated classics for MTV. The duo of "Beavis and Butt-head" wore t-shirts of their favorite heavy metal bands, Metallica and AC-DC, and lived out their crazy adventures in a small town in Texas. The original series ran from seven seasons before reboots in the decades to follow.
6. "King Of The Hill"

Mike Judge took his talents from MTV to the FOX network for "King of the Hill" which debuted in 1997. The series told the adventures of the Hill family from Arlen, Texas. Some of the celebrity voices on the show included Brittany Murphy, Kathy Najimy, Mike Judge, and even rocker Tom Petty.
7. "Family Guy"

After Super Bowl XXXIII, FOX debuted "Family Guy", a series created by Seth McFarlane in 1999. The Griffin family from Quahog, Rhode Island, surpassed four hundred episodes on prime-time TV in 2023. In 2009, "South Park" became the first animated series since "The Flintstones" to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
8. "American Dad!"

"American Dad!" was another of Seth McFarlane's animated series to appear on prime-time television. The show debuted on FOX's Animation Domination promotion. Once again, FOX introduced the show as the follow-up to a Super Bowl in 2005. The show was moved to TBS in 2014 and McFarlane was no longer the chief creator of the series.
9. "The Cleveland Show"

Cleveland Brown is one of the main characters in "Family Guy". The hit series got its first spin-off when "The Cleveland Show" debuted in 2009. The series debuted on Sunday nights at 8:30 and took over the time slot of "American Dad!".
10. "Bob's Burgers"

"Bob's Burgers" was developed by Loren Bouchard for the Fox Broadcasting Company. By 2024, "Bob's Burgers" had aired over 275 episodes making it one of the most-produced animated shows to ever appear on prime-time TV. The series focused on Bob and Louise Belcher, the owners of a restaurant.
