Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Powerpuff Girl speaks fluent Squirrel?

Answer: Bubbles

"Saving the world before bedtime!" These pint-sized super heroes are dedicated to fighting crime, and saving Townsville from the "forces of evil!" In addition to speaking Squirrel, Bubbles can also speak fluent Spanish.
2. Which Disney T. V. cartoon series features TJ, Gretchen, and "the Ashleys?"

Answer: Recess

"Scandalous..." The Ashleys, along with TJ, Gretchen, Gus, Spinelli, Vince, and Mikey attend 3rd Street School. These kids are also featured in "Disney's Recess: Schools Out," which is their first full length motion picture.
3. Name a Warner Brother or a Warner sister.

Answer: Dot

The "totally insaney" Animaniacs include brothers Yakko and Wakko Warner, and sister Dot "I'm cute" Warner. The Animaniacs were originally plotted to be 3 ducks named Yakki, Smakki and Wakki, then they were to be platypuses, and now they are...well, Animaniacs, I guess.
4. Which cartoon cat loves lasagna?

Answer: Garfield

Garfield will do just about anything for a bite of lasagna! Too bad poor Odie is always in his way!
5. Which bears were "bouncing here and there and everywhere" throughout the mid-80's to early 90s?

Answer: The Gummi Bears

Remember Gruffi, Tummi, and Gusto? What about Grammi Gummi? She made all of the Gummiberry juice which gave the bears the ability to bounce!
Actually, I think this cartoon is quite different, as it is not based on a fairy tale or a comic strip, but a candy.
6. "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"

Answer: SpongeBob SquarePants

"...absorbent and yellow and porous is he. Sponge Bob Squarepants!" Sponge Bob, Sandy, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs all hail from Bikini Bottom. Sponge Bob lives in a pineapple, Squidward lives in a tiki head, and Patrick lives under a rock. Sebastian is from "The Little Mermaid."
7. Who is Dexter's arch nemesis in "Dexter's Laboratory?"

Answer: Mandark

When Mandark and his sister Olga (a.k.a. Lalavava) move to town, Dexter's laboratory is in serious jeopardy. As it turns out, Dexter has an advantage...Mandark loves Dee Dee, and Dee Dee loves to destroy secret "la-bor-a-tories!"
8. Which villain is always on the lookout for "those pesky smurfs?"

Answer: Gargamel

The cowardly Gargamel is no match for Papa Smurf. He and Azrael want to capture Smurfs for some magical spell or another, and who can blame them? The Smurfs supposedly taste pretty good too.
"The Smurfs made their debut in 1958 in a Belgian comic strip drawn by Pierre "Peyo" Culliford."-imdb.com
9. In which cartoon would you find Fashion Club members Sandi, Tiffany, Stacy, and Quinn?

Answer: Daria

"Excuse me..." Daria "Diarrhea Cha-cha-cha" Morgendorfer made her first appearance on Mike Judge's "Beavis and Butthead." She is actually based on the actress Janeane Garofalo. After being taunted for almost four years by Beavis and Butthead, she finally spun off into her own show in 1997. Sadly, the show only lasted for one season. You can catch "Daria" in syndication on Nickelodeon's "The N."
10. Which one of these Looney Tunes shows does NOT exist?

Answer: The Tweety Show

There is no Looney Tunes show based solely on Tweety. "The Road Runner Show" premiered in 1966; "The Sylvester & Tweety, Daffy & Speedy Show" debuted in 1981; "The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show" began in 1986. There is, however, "The Sylvester and Tweety Show."
11. Name ONE of Pepper Ann's best friends.

Answer: Milo

"Who's that girl? What's her name? Is she cool? Is she lame? ...oh, you're talkin' 'bout whats-her-name...Pepper Ann!" Pepper Ann Pearson and her best friends Milo and Nikki graced TV screens from 1997-2000. Did you know that Pepper Ann's real name is Jennifer?
12. Which one of these Liquid Television Shows does NOT exist?

Answer: Heavy Metal

Liquid Television is a variety animation show that premiered on MTV in 1991. "Beavis and Butthead" debuted on this show with "Frog Baseball." It's hilarious! If you missed out, look for the DVD/VHS "Wet Shorts: The Best of Liquid Television Vol. 1 & 2"
13. What is the name of the bigger, better Quick Stop Leonardo Leonardo erects in the Kevin Smith cartoon "Clerks: The Animated Series?"

Answer: The Quicker Stop

Leonardo Leonardo, the evil super-villian in Leonardo, New Jersey, is always looking to make more money. Along with his...umm, robot sidekick, he constructed the Quicker Stop (which features tiny, high-end adult magazines) designed to outdo the Quick Stop, thus leaving Dante and Randal without jobs.

Unfortunately, at his thirtieth class reunion, he lost the "Most Megalomaniacal Evil Billionaire Bent on Global Domination and the Elimination of Osgood Hardware" award to Maximillion Stark. By the way, "Clerks: The Animated Series" is also a WALT DISNEY cartoon. Ha Ha.
14. Which Cartoon Network character recoined the phrase "Whoa Momma!"

Answer: Johnny Bravo

Poor Johnny Bravo never gets the girl. Maybe he should learn a little sensitivity.
15. Which one of these "Peanuts" T. V. Specials does NOT exist?

Answer: You're a Good Boy, Charlie Brown

"It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown" debuted in 1977, "Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown" in 1985, and "You're In The Superbowl, Charlie Brown" in 1994. There are over 40 Peanuts TV Specials, but "You're a Good Boy, Charlie Brown" is not one of them. Maybe you we're thinking of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" (1985).
16. Who is Timmy's evil baby-sitter in Nickelodeon's "The Fairly Odd Parents?"

Answer: Vicky

Timmy's every wish comes true with the help of his "fairly odd parents." Why doesn't he just WISH Vicky away?
17. Who is Harvey Birdman's antisocial paralegal in "Harvey Birdman: Attorney-at-law?

Answer: Peanut

OK, so he's a little weird, but Peanut is very intelligent and speaks in over 10 different languages. So what if he was dismissed from his last job for the "alleged" murder of a supervisor? He's quite resourceful even so. You can catch "Harvey Birdman" on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim." It's a hilarious show, and you'll see a lot of spoofs on some of Hanna Barbera's old cartoons including Scooby "Doobie" Doo, the Flintstones, Jabberjaw, and more!
18. Who is Stimpson J. Cat better known as?

Answer: Stimpy

"Ren and Stimpy": the epitome of gross-out humor. These two often experienced bizarre adventures which entailed killer farts, jars of spit, "Space Madness," and "Happy Happy, Joy Joy." Can you believe this stuff is supposedly for children? Yeah right. "I told you I'd shoot! Why didn't you believe me?"
19. On which cartoon would you find Go-Go, Elmyra Duff, and Shirley The Loon?

Answer: Tiny Toon Adventures

"We're tiny, we're toony, we're all a little looney..." "Tiny Toon Adventures" is the first of seven Steven Spielberg cartoons. Unfortunately, it was only on the air from 1990 to 1992. Oh well, there's always syndication.
20. Which one of these cartoons was NOT produced by Steven Spielberg?

Answer: Peter Pan and the Pirates

Yep, there was a "Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain" (1998). It was a mini-failure. "Peter Pan and the Pirates" was produced by Buzz Potamkin among others. Potamkin now produces "Johnny Bravo," "Dexter's Laboratory," and "2 Stupid Dogs" to name a few.
21. Which cartoon series character line-up includes Eustace, Muriel, the Computer, and The Magic Tree of Nowhere?

Answer: Courage the Cowardly Dog

In the middle of Nowhere, Courage must save Eustace and Muriel Bagg over and over again from dark forces. This is actually a weird, freaky cartoon.
22. What is Lloyd's last name in Disney's "Lloyd in Space"?

Answer: Nebulon

"Lloyd in Space" has quite possibly one of the most overdone story lines for a cartoon. You have the intellectual dork, the stupid-strong-but-gentle guy, the best friend who thinks he's SO cool, and of course, the popular snobs. Mix it up and set it in Space.
23. What exactly is wrong with Bob Oblong in the series "The Oblongs?"

Answer: he has no arms or legs

"The Oblongs" tell the story of a normal, suburban family who just so happen to be deformed on account of toxic waste and poison. Bob Oblong has no arms and no legs; Pickles Oblong is a bald, but wigged, alcoholic; Milo has the usually child deformities, ADHD, ADD, nervous tics, and whatever other psychological disorders we push onto our children; Chip and Biff are conjoined twins with a knack for sports (in their minds anyway); and as for Beth, well, there is something weird growing out of her head.
24. Who is older, Cow or Chicken?

Answer: Chicken

Well, if you've watched the show, Cow is always calling Chicken her "big brud-der."
25. Okay, last question: Who plays the voice of Sideshow Bob in "The Simpsons?"

Answer: Kelsey Grammar

You didn't think I was going to leave out "The Simpsons" did you? I just wanted to round the quiz off with an easy question. FYI, when Sideshow Bob's brother Cecil was on the show, he was voiced by David Hyde Pierce who also plays Frasier's brother on Kelsey Grammer's show "Frasier." "Th-Th-Th-That's all folks!" Please rate my quiz, thanks!
