Answer: an envelope she's licking

While waiting for the elevator, Will and Grace are going through their mail. Grace licks one of the envelopes and says, "Mmm. This envelope tastes kinda good. Taste the envelope." She then holds the envelope to Will, and he says, "Stop eating the mail, Grace." To which Grace replies, "I'll stop eatin' it when they stop makin' it so tasty."

Answer: they'll be taking out his trash

Will finds out that Ned just moved in the apartment above him and says, "You don't have a pet elephant, I hope?" Ned stomps his feet and they share a laugh. When the elevator arrives, Grace grabs Will's jacket and stops him from entering the elevator. Will asks her what's wrong with her and she says, "What's wrong with me? You were the one who's being all nice to a stranger, fool." Will asks, "What's wrong with being nice to him? He's our neighbor." Grace says, "Follow the logic, Will. We're nice to him. Suddenly, we're picking up his newspaper.

Then we're watering his plants. Before you know it, there's a fire in the building and we're the ones who have to make sure he 'got out okay'. I'd rather find out on the evening news, thank you." Will then says, "I'm not saying that I wouldn't trample over him on the way out.

But while he's alive, would it kill us to be nice to him?" Grace presses the button for the elevator and says, "All I'm saying is you just let him blow on by without any eye contact.

Otherwise, you're gonna get stuck having to say hello. And nobody wants that." The elevator arrives and Jack and Karen step off of it. Will and Grace speak to them, but they hide their faces so as not to have to say 'hello' to them.

Answer: Murder, He/She Wrote

Jack's boss, Tim, asks his opinion on the script of the new show. Jack says he loves it and Tim is surprised. When another employee walks past, Tim asks him about the script. He says it's boring and the last thing they need is a soap opera where everyone's gay. Jack then says it was a test and they both passed. Tim then asks how he feels about the cop show and Jack says, "Another tired cop show? Who needs another one of those?" Jack's co-worker says, "Really? Because in this case, I thought making everybody gay made it much more interesting." Jack's boss says, "I agree. That handcuffing scene was a much-needed reminder that older men can still be hot." Jack then says, "Oh, that cop show. Oh, I love that cop show. Yes, yes." When Tim asks what other cop show is there, Jack responds, "Oh, well I heard someone talking about, like, a tranny and a crime-solving thing. Yeah, 'Murder He/She Wrote'."

When Karen enters Jack's office, he tells her, "I'm in big trouble. Everyone here is so smart. They all have, like, degrees and work experience. And they all have that line you get from thinking." Karen says, "Honey, thinking is more damaging than the sun. Yeah, when I was young, I used to lay out and think all summer long. We just didn't know." Jack says, "What do I do? People keep asking my opinions, and I'm always wrong." Karen replies, "Oh, honey, come on.

But I brought you something to cheer you up. Bring it in, Rosie. Come on. Giddyap!" Rosario then brings in a small bag and when Jack looks into it, he pulls out his Cher doll and says, "Cher! It's my Cher doll." Karen tells him, "Honey, I thought you might need a little friend at work. I know she's your favorite." Jack then says, "Oh, thank you, Karen. I'm feeling better already. Cher is my fairy godmother. Well, godmother to all fairies."

When Grace comes into the apartment, she says, "Well, I hope you're happy. Remember Ned? Your boyfriend from the lobby? Well, I just talked to him in the elevator." Will says, "Now, was that so horrible? I'm proud of you." Grace then informs him that she invited him over for cocktails. Will says, "What? Why would you do that?" Grace says, "Don't yell at me. You're the one who was makin' love to him in the lobby." Will then says, "I was warm to him. Lobby warm. I was laying the groundwork for a lifetime of polite nods." He gives a quick nod and says, "'Hey'. You know? And then you extend an invitation? Why would you do a thing like that?" Grace tells him, "I don't know. We were stuck in the elevator.

He accused me of being rude. So to prove I wasn't, I invited him over."

As Jack and Jimmy are walking towards Jack's office, Jimmy says, "Hey, Jack. You were hilarious at that meeting today when you said you liked that stupid show about the subway." Jack says, "Oh yeah. 'Token Lesbians'. Yeah. You guys thought I was serious when I was so obviously joking.

Heh-heh. Had you going." Jimmy says, "For an uncomfortably long time." Jack then says, "Yeah. Well, it's hard to keep a straight face at a gay network."

Karen pretended she didn't know Jack discarded his Cher doll, so she asks him what happened to it and Jack says, "I believe she's on tour." Karen then says, "And was her first show on the road playing to an empty can of tuna and an apple core in a dumpster? Rosie!" A dirty and unkempt Rosario walks in holding his Cher doll and says, "Shame on you, Jackie. I had to yank her out of a raccoon's mouth." Jack then says, "How did you find her? I threw her out yesterday." Karen tells him, "Luckily, this is the one day a month that I send Rosie out dumpster-diving in Midtown to look for scrap copper wire."

While finishing up last minute details before Ned gets there, Grace says, "I can't believe we're having this guy over for dinner. We don't have people we like over for dinner." Just then the phone rings and Will picks it up and listens and then says, "Oh, my God. I'm so sorry. No, of course. I understand completely. Sure, we'll see ya." After Will hangs up, Grace says, "I'm sensing something good." Will says, "Oh, it's good. Really good.

His brother was in a car accident. Ned's gonna be at the hospital, all night." Grace says, "Will, what's the matter with you? That's not good news. That's great news!" Will then tells her, "You like that cake? Here's the frosting, he didn't mention a rain check and neither did I!" Grace says, "It's the best day of my life!"

Answer: shirtless hunks

After Jack asks Jimmy and Tim to come into his office, Jimmy sees the Cher doll and says, "Ugh, that ridiculous plastic thing is back?" Jack says, "Yes, she's back! And she brought my Cher doll with her. And she's helped me realize a couple things. You may not wanna hear this, but that gay soap opera? I loved it. We all know the only people who watch soap operas are women and gay men. And we both wanna see shirtless hunks. That's why it's perfect.

The whole show takes place in a town where the women are missing. And another thing. I love Cher. And I always will.

As a gay network, we can't afford to turn our backs to our icons." He then says to Jack, "I'd like you to do a documentary on Cher. You think you can manage that?" Jack replies, "No problem. As it happens, I've already made a 40-minute film chronicling her years between her third and fourth farewell tours."

Will tells Ned that if he's willing, dinner is still hot. Ned says, "That is so kind. But I can't. I'm having tea with friends. Unless you would like to join us?" They accept his offer and when they walk into Ned's apartment, they see the table surrounded by toys. Ned then says, "Will, Grace, this is Mitzi, Annie, Brian, Mr. Puffer, Cowboy Fred, Bluey, and Nick-Nick." They then sit down and Ned pretends to pour tea into the cups. Will says to one of the stuffed animals, "Nice to meet you, Nick-Nick." Ned says, "Actually, that's Bluey." Grace then says, "It's gonna take us a while to get all these names."
