2. Southfork Ranch was the home to which TV family?

Answer: The Ewings

Located in Parker, North Texas, and consisting over 300 acres, Southfork Ranch was the home of the extended Ewing family in the CBS hit series "Dallas". 3. 'Farty Towels', 'Flay Otters', 'Fatty Owls' and 'Watery Fowls' were all anagrams featured at the beginning of various episodes of which famous BBC situation comedy of the 1970s set in a seaside resort on the English Riviera?

Answer: Fawlty Towers

Astonishingly, only twelve episodes of this fabulous comedy series were ever made. Starring John Cleese as hotel proprietor Basil Fawlty, Prunella Scales as his wife Sybil, Connie Booth as Polly, the waitress; and John Cleese's real-life wife at the time, and Andrew Sachs as Manuel, the waiter from Barcelona, Fawlty Towers has proved to be one of the most enduring sitcoms ever broadcast by the BBC and still draws huge audiences over thirty years after it was first broadcast.

The character of Basil Fawlty was based on the hotel manager of the Gleneagles Hotel, Torquay after Cleese had stayed there as a guest in the early 1970s.

The actual Gleneagles Hotel today is one of the best hotels in Torquay and this author attended a wedding reception there in 2011...

The hotel has clearly had a change of management since Mr Cleese was a guest there! Which is my favourite episode? That's series one, episode five entitled 'Gourmet Night' in which Basil's attempt to attract Torquay's discerning diners to Fawlty Towers results in a nervous breakdown and a soundly thrashed Austin car... Look it up, you'll love it!
