Name the TV Show Trivia Questions

1. Which television show was about people just sitting around a bar in Boston?

From Quiz
Pick the Right TV Show

Answer: Cheers

"Cheers" was about people in a bar who all knew one another and they all had their own problems. For example, Sam obsessed over women, Norm drank a lot and was not too keen on his wife, Cliff was a know-it-all loudmouth, and Diane's fiance said he was going to get a wedding ring from his ex-wife but never came back, so she took a job at "Cheers." "Cheers" ran from 1982 to 1993. More characters left the show and got replaced by different actors, so I will not mention them. Some of the actors on this show were Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Woody Harrelson, and Rhea Perlman.

2. Boyle will eat all sorts of crazy and exotic foods, the grosser sounding the better. Jake seems to subside on fast food and candy. Terry loves yogurt! Which show is this?

From Quiz Who Ordered The Spinach?

Answer: Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Cop comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" ran for five seasons on FOX before being cancelled. It was quickly picked up again by NBC. It stars Andy Samberg as immature detective Jake Peralta.

3. On what show were plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island for six seasons?

From Quiz One-Word TV Show Titles

Answer: LOST

Admittedly, not all of them were stranded the entire time, but the cast of "LOST" spent a lot of time fending for themselves before supernatural occurrences started getting in the way in the six seasons of the show which aired on ABC to great ratings. At the start of this series, a plane crash stranded dozens of people traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles and by the end, they were embroiled in a battle of good vs. evil. Series creator J.J. Abrams later went on to film the modern "Star Trek" movies and create the TV show "Fringe".

4. Opening scene shows baby being set down in front of TV. Brian Benben as Martin Tupper. Lots of fantasizing. Which 1990s HBO series is this?

From Quiz The Harder Three Clue Television Quiz

Answer: Dream On

Martin Tupper tries to negotiate a confusing array of relationships with his ex-wife Judith, his buddy Eddie, his son Jeremy and his boss Gibby. Martin's thoughts and myriad fantasies are often expressed through his memories of the old TV shows he watched. Clips of those shows appear while he explains his thoughts. The show ran from 1990 to 1996.

5. Al Swearengen. Calamity Jane. Cy Tolliver.

From Quiz The Three Clue Television Quiz

Answer: Deadwood

"Deadwood" brought to life many of the actual people of that post-Civil War South Dakota town. Al Swearengen, aptly surnamed for his foul if florid speech, was an actual bar owner. While the other bar owner, Cy Tolliver, was not an actual person, Calamity Jane was. A hit with audiences and critics alike, "Deadwood" was mysteriously cancelled after only three seasons.

6. Leonard, Sheldon and Penny are some of the characters from which CBS comedy series?

From Quiz My Favourite American Shows Vol 4

Answer: The Big Bang Theory

"The Big Bang Theory" first aired in 2007 on CBS. "The Big Bang Theory" cast included Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Sara Gilbert, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik, Kevin Sussman, Laura Spencer, Laurie Metcalf, Carol Ann Susi, John Ross Bowie and Wil Wheaton. Jim Parsons who played Sheldon Cooper won four Emmy awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

7. This tough quiz started each show with 15 contestants and through elimination ended with just one contestant trying to build a score good enough to come back to the "Grand Final". Hosted by William G. Stewart, can you name the quiz show?

From Quiz Name The TV Quiz Show (UK TV)

Answer: 15 to 1

Unlike many TV quiz shows, "15 To 1" had little chat and was really a stream of questions. In rounds 1 and 2, contestants began with three lives and answered questions in turn. Incorrect answers lost lives. In round 3, if a contestant gave a correct answer, they could nominate a competitor to answer the next question until only three contestants remained. In round 4, the three remaining contestants gained points for correct answers, but lost a life for an incorrect one until all lives were lost. The top fifteen scores in a series came back to play in the "Grand Final".

8. This American television show first aired in the early 1970s but took place in the 1950s. Which show comes to mind from these clues: "The Swamp, Choppers, Tuttle, Rosie's"?

From Quiz Name the Show with Five Words

Answer: M*A*S*H

"M*A*S*H" ran from 1972 to 1983, much longer than the Korean War that was the setting for the series. "The Swamp" was the nickname of the tent used by Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) and his various tent mates over the years - Trapper John McIntyre (Wayne Rogers), B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell), Frank Burns (Larry Linville) and Charles Winchester III (David Ogden Stiers). "Choppers" were the endless helicopters that ferried in the wounded to the mobile surgical hospital. "Tuttle" was the name of an episode from the first season in which Hawkeye and Trapper invented a Captain Tuttle to get supplies for a local orphanage and had to eventually kill him off after a general wanted to award him a medal. "Rosie's" was the name of the bar the staff frequented and where Radar (Gary Burghoff) would get his Grape Nehis.

9. Which 1980s show saw a technologically-advanced car assist in fighting crime?

From Quiz Alphabetical Name the Show: K-R

Answer: Knight Rider

David Hasselhoff starred as Michael Knight, a man who nearly dies from a bullet to the head in the pilot episode. He is given a new face (through plastic surgery) and a new identity, but best of all, a very intelligent car to help him with his various quests. The show originally ran for 4 seasons from 1982-86.

10. She wasn't an American Miss Marple, and considering the cheesy accents some of her co-stars attempted, we knew she wasn't really in Maine either. But what was the name of the series about the widow who became a well-known author?

From Quiz Remember That Show?

Answer: Murder, She Wrote

There really is a Cabot Cove in Maine (it's an inlet in Kennebunkport) but the outdoor shots for "Murder, She Wrote' were filmed in Mendocino, California. Angela Lansbury played mystery author Jessica Fletcher who lived in the small Maine seacoast town and was adept at solving crimes that the authorities couldn't figure out or had wrongly accused someone of. The show lasted for twelve seasons.

11. What show would you find Sully, Colleen and Mr. Bray in?

From Quiz Top Ten TV

Answer: Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman

"Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman" ran from 1993-1998. It starred Jane Seymour as Dr. Michaela (Mike) Quinn, a female medical doctor who accepted a job offer in the Colorado territory At first, she was not accepted but as she helped people, more and more people were willing to accept her as a doctor. In the pilot episode, she became friends with Charlotte, a woman with three children whose husband had abandoned them. Charlotte was bit by a snake and Dr. Mike could not save her. Charlotte's dying wish was that Dr. Mike would take care of her children. So Dr. Mike inherited a family: Matthew (played by Chad Allen), Colleen(played by Erika Flores and then later by Jessica Bowman) and Brian (played by Shawn Toovey). She also throughout her time in Colorado became good friends with Byron Sully (played by Joe Lando).
