Freddie used to deliver food for a living and the ghost who lives in his car, named Jessica, loved it. Since ghosts can smell food even if they can't consume it, she was regularly treated to an array of of delicious-smelling food due to the nature of his job.

Sam encourages Freddie to talk to his girlfriend about something that annoys him and it leads to a huge fight followed by a break up. Freddie's girlfriend takes both the Brita (the cause of the fight) and their hamster named Bubbles.

Although Pete initially suggests drawing straws, Hetty points out that this would involve holding and cutting - two activities beyond Trevor's abilities. They land on assigning each of the present ghosts a number and Trevor knocking one of Jay's dice off the table. Whichever number lands face-up determines who will touch the ghost trap to ensure it's safe.

After Trevor's body is found in the lake and his parents come to visit, Sam convinces them to stay and hold a memorial service for Trevor. Trevor's brother Jeremy couldn't make it so he used an app called 'Pop-In' to hire Tara Reid to attend in his place. Trevor is, unsurprisingly, thrilled.

Thorfinn and Flower's date involves Jay cooking (and then tasting) a meal chosen by Thorfinn, being serenaded by Alberta, and watching a one-man improv show hosted by Pete.

Because Sam and Jay cancelled their dinner reservations at Jay's favourite restaurant twice in a single week, they are now blacklisted from the establishment.

In order to continue dating her, Flower asks Thorfinn to try and work on his anger issues so he turns to Pete for advice. He does pretty well at controlling his anger when Sasappis and Alberta try to needle him but can't control his rage any longer when Soren repeatedly derides Norway and the Norse people over dinner.

Answer: Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope

Sam tells Jay that he doesn't need to be high to cook a great meal by comparing his current situation to Luke Skywalker trusting Obi-Wan and turning off his targeting computer whilst on the Death Star in the first Star Wars film. The tactic (and the fact that Sam got all of the details correct) works and Jay's confidence in his own ability is restored.

Alberta thinks this is a terrible idea initially because she knows how difficult it is to have a successful career in show business with all the shady characters and backstabbing. She changes her mind though after she hears Alicia sing, saying that great-great niece is "incredible" and that she should at least try to live her dream as a singer.

Answer: Pony and Bangs

After one of the other ghosts confesses to the crime, Isaac refers to himself and Alberta as the "crack investigative team of Higgintoot and Haynes" but when Alberta suggests 'Pony and Bangs', Isaac is immediately on board.

When reflecting on their double-date, Hetty laments to Isaac and Nigel that Trevor wasn't able to carry his weight in the conversation about tea and steam engines. This highlights to all involved just how mismatched Hetty and Trevor are, causing them both to wish they could go back to the secretive liaisons they had prior to being discovered.

In order to accomplish this, they 'break up' publicly so they can go back into the "shadows" (as Hetty puts it).

Trevor helped Pete set up an email account so he could receive daily jokes from 'Reader's Digest' and it's whilst checking this that Pete is contacted by a 'Nigerian prince' asking for a $1000 advance to help him escape from a penal colony on Snake Island.

The naïve trio do recognise some of the red flags (Pete is unsure why a prince would reach out to him of all people for help and even Flower sounds incredulous when outlining the prince's alleged plan) but proceed with the transfer anyway. It's not until after the money had been sent that they discover that the email is part of a well-known scam.

Although Sass is advocating for the pizza oven, Isaac reveals that he's already decided that he would like Sam to purchase a day bed from the "emporium called The Pottery Barn". Since the bed would just sleep one person, this causes some strife between Isaac and Nigel.

Alberta rejects Al Capone, a.k.a. "Scarface," that night (apparently not for the first time) and the cholera ghosts reveal that they saw him retrieve some rat poison from the basement. In a nod to Capone's eventual arrest, we also hear Alberta's sister telling him to pay his taxes because "that's going to come back to haunt you".

When Jay visits New York, he's reminded what it's like being at the epicentre of the cooking world again and working in a busy kitchen with people he can see and hear. This gets Sam thinking and she proposes to Jay that they open a destination restaurant in the barn located on Woodstone Estate with their contractor Mark acting as a business partner in the venture.

Mark and Jay are both shown to be sneakerheads, i.e. people who collect and appreciate sneakers.

Elias comes back for 48 hours in 'Weekend from Hell' (episode 17). He wants Hetty to forgive him which will release him from Hell and return him to Woodstone Mansion - and she must do so sincerely. Due to one of Elias's tricks, Pete's afterlife is also on the line.
