Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Through the Looking Glass'- After Cordy celebrated her royalty with her pals, which of the gang left with Lorne to find Landok?

Answer: Angel

Wes and Gunn stayed behind to read the ceremonial books used by the priests to anoint Cordy as Princess. Angel and Lorne found Lorne's clan, and Landok invited Angel to the town to recite his tale of defeating the Drokken that arrived in Los Angeles.
2. 'Through the Looking Glass'- The three ceremonial books read by Wes were connected to Wolfram and Hart.

Answer: True

Upon this discovery, the gang began to realize that the priests probably were not trustworthy. The only way to decipher the text was to read each book in tandem with another. One book had a wolf on its cover, the next a ram, and the last a hart. Wes explained that a hart is a male red deer.
3. 'Through the Looking Glass'- Landok wanted Angel to behead a cow for the Bacchanal. Who was that cow?

Answer: Fred

Lorne wouldn't be considered a cow, and Groo (brave and undefeated) was only part human. Angel refused to kill Fred, so Lorne sang the crowd into the ground and allowed the pair to get away on horseback.
4. 'Through the Looking Glass'- Silas, the high priest, decided Cordy needed to be taught a lesson. Whose head did he offer on her on a silver platter?

Answer: Lorne's

Thankfully, the Deathwok clan could live through a beheading, until their body had been mutilated. Groo saved Lorne's body, to make his princess happy. He had it shipped out Lorne's family home, and Landok was on his way to get the head.
5. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- Groo was destined to comshock with Cordy and relieve the burden of her visions. Why was it that he would be able to do that?

Answer: Groo had demon blood

Groo explained to Cordy that his demon blood could carry the burden of the visions. It hadn't occurred to Cordy that she would pass Groo anything, but expected he was to impregnate her. She refused to allow that to happen, as she felt the visions were an honor. She admitted that the pain was ever increasing as time went on, but that it was her job to use them to help people.

Peter Petrelli is the man who can absorb powers on the hit drama "Heroes".
6. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- Wes was made the new battle leader by the human rebels.

Answer: True

This season marked Wes' growth as a man, and as a leader. This episode, in particular, began to show what was to come for Wes in that arena. Though the rebels were just about to kill Wes and Gunn, they stayed behind when the camp was attacked on Silas' orders.

The rebels then allowed the pair to leave camp and get back on their task. Wes and Gunn decided to head right back to the rebel camp, to warn them of the impending dangers their own plan posed. They liked his advice so much, they appointed Wes their new leader in the fight against the establishment.

Then, on two occasions Wes showed Gunn his mettle as a leader. Wes set up a series of diversionary tactics for the rebels when they attacked the castle, and Gunn pointed out that it would get those men killed. Wes explained, very leader like, that if you tried to save everyone, you end up getting everyone killed.

Then, when Angel was afraid to access his beastie within, Wes assured him he would be able to come back from it. Afterward, Gunn asked Wes if he was really sure Angel could get back from the demon side of life, and Wes explained that whatever the case, he needed Angel to believe it. Gunn appeared to be shocked and slightly in awe of this new Wesley.
7. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- How did did the gang get Groo away from Cordy?

Answer: Angel called him out to battle

When the Groosalug was called to battle, he was required to fight. But, Groo told Cordy that he fought who he was told to, so this offers an inconsistency. Silas DID make Groo fight, as he hoped Groo would get rid of Angel. As far as spells go, there was very little of this in the entire run of "Angel", but most was after season two. Wes, unlike Giles from "Buffy", was not big on the spell casting.

He was like Giles in the book reading and knowledge sense. "Angel" was more of a fighting show, and "Buffy" was more blended. From season two through season four, "Angel" was very serialized like "Buffy".

In season five, the real life powers that be required the series to have more stand alone episodes. The producers complied, but I feel it took away a lot from what was to be the series' last season.
8. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- In a humorous scene, Landok was brought into the rebel camp with Lorne's head. Of the folks looking into the basket at Lorne's head, which of them did NOT scream and jump away when his eyes opened and Lorne spoke to them?

Answer: Fred

Fred had already demonstrated her courage in the face of the macabre. She saw Angel in his purest demon form and didn't flinch. Angel assumed Lorne was dead, and when Landok showed them all his head, they began to mumble vague niceties about Lorne. Lorne opened his eyes and spoke up about their vagueness, which caused ALL three men to holler out and jump out of the shot. Fred stayed, looking down at Lorne's head and smiling softly.
9. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- The end battle between Groo and Angel lasted 3 minutes and 42 seconds. Was it Angel that stopped the battle?

Answer: Yes

Angel held out for over two minutes before he accessed his demon side. It was then that he started to best Groo. When it finally appeared that Groo was to lose his first battle, Angel pulled out of his demon side and stopped fighting. As he moved away, Groo kicked him in the face and Cordy came out yelling not to hurt Groo.

She said she loved him, Angel assumed she meant him, and she assured Angel she did not mean him (rather rudely). Before leaving Pylea, Cordy ended slavery and religious persecution and had Gunn explain about the era of reconstruction to come. Groo was to lead Pylea in this new age, while she and her team returned home with Fred.
10. 'There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb'- Who was waiting for the team inside the Hyperion when they got home?

Answer: Willow

Angel was feeling very happy and satisfied to be home and was just about to say "There's no place like home", when he opened the hotel doors to find a very saddened Willow waiting for him. Though it wasn't explained until season three premiered, fans knew at the time why Willow was there. She'd come to tell Angel that Buffy had sacrificed her life to save the world in "The Gift".
