Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which team took the pre-arranged flight to Warsaw in Leg 7?

Answer: Eric and Danielle

Teams (some more than sixteen hours apart) opened their first clue of Leg 7 at Zanzibar's Old Fort. This clue directed them to Warsaw, Poland, more than five thousand miles away. Teams had the option of using tickets letting them arrive at a set time or getting earlier tickets.

The two teams taking the designated tickets ended up trapped at Kilimanjaro Airport when their plane arrived minutes too late. This put them hours behind.
2. Once in Poland, teams needed to find a man playing a musical piece by which composer?

Answer: Chopin

Once teams landed in Warsaw, they needed to make their way to Czapski Palace on the grounds of Academia Palace. Here, they needed to find a Chopin impersonator playing a piece on the grounds. Once teams reached the clue box here, they could attempt their Detour task, a choice between the 'Perfect Angle' and 'Perfect Pitch' tasks, both in nearby locations.
3. How many teams completed the 'Perfect Pitch' Detour task of Leg 7?

Answer: Four

In 'Perfect Pitch', teams were required to travel three quarters of a mile to Primus Palace. Once there, teams needed to go to a selected piano and determine which key was out of tune. After this, they would need to tune the correct piano string in order for a pianist to play a certain piece. Once this was correctly done, teams would receive their clue. Dustin and Kandice, Oswald and Danny, Uchenna and Joyce, and Eric and Danielle completed this task.
4. During the 'Perfect Angle' Detour task of Leg 7, what did teams perform an x-ray on?

Answer: A mannequin

In 'perfect Angle', teams needed to go to a boutique half a mile away and pick up a mannequin. They would then need to transport the mannequin four hundred yards to the Panoramik Laboratories in order to perform an x-ray on it. Once teams were able to correctly position the mannequin, a clue could be read on the mannequin. Charla and Mirna and Joe and Bill finished this task.
5. Which team arrived at the seventh Pit Stop in first place?

Answer: Dustin and Kandice

The Detour tasks left teams with the name Lans III Sobieski Lazienki who is also a statue in Warsaw's Lazienki Park. Once teams arrived here, there was no Road Block waiting for them. Instead, teams made their way to the Pit Stop waiting nearby. The first team to arrive, Dustin and Kandice, won a trip to Puerto Rico. On the other hand, Joe and Bill, who arrived nineteen hours later, were marked for elimination.
6. Which team was not on the first bus to Auschwitz-Birkenau in Leg 8?

Answer: Charla and Mirna

In the beginning of Leg 8, teams made their way to a war memorial in Warsaw to pick up their bus tickets which would lead them to the next destination: the concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkinau. Three teams made their way there on the first bus, departing at 1:00pm, while three departed on a 5:00pm bus. After the 150 mile trip, teams obtained their next clue.
7. Which team combination was not joined together at the Intersection in Leg 8?

Answer: All of these are correct combinations

After lighting a candle by the Auschwitz railroad tracks, teams made their way to the next clue, forty miles away, at the Juliusz Slowacki Theatre. Here, teams found the intersection forcing them to pair together in groups of two teams to complete a task. Because of this, Dustin and Kandice were pushed to the back of the pack as they had to wait four hours for the second bus to arrive.
8. Which team claimed a Fast Forward in Leg 8?

Answer: Uchenna and Joyce

In the Fast Forward in Leg 8, teams made their way to two different towers in order to climb the stairs. These were the City Hall Tower and the Firehouse Tower of St. Mary's Church, both at Market Square. Once teams counted both stairs and added them up, they would need to show the total number to a guard (348) before they could claim their next clue. Once they completed the task, Oswald and Danny and Uchenna and Joyce went to the Pit Stop.
9. Both Detour tasks of Leg 8 were completed by the same amount of teams.

Answer: False

Because two teams took the Fast Forward, only two groups of teams competed. In 'Eat It Up', teams were required to create one sausage link each, each three inches long. Then, they needed to eat two feet of cooked kielbasa links each before they could get their next clue. Dustin, Kandice, Charla, Mirna, Bill, Joe, Eric, and Danielle all completed this task.

In 'Roll It Out', teams would have had to head to a bakery and roll twenty bagels. Then, they needed to transport them to a nearby restaurant to get their next clue. After the Detour, teams split from their Intersections and made their way to the Pieskowa Skala Castle for their next clues.
10. Which team was eliminated in Leg 8?

Answer: Joe and Bill

At the castle in Skala, teams found their Road Block clues which forced one team member from each team to don a suit of armor and lead a horse to the castle gates, half a mile through the forest. Once there, they could find the Pit Stop. Charla, Dustin, Eric, and Joe completed the task. Oswald, Danny, Uchenna, and Joyce all arrived at the Pit Stop in first place and Uchenna and Joyce were given the reward, a trip for two to St. Lucia.

Although Eric and Danielle arrived in last place, Joe and Bill were marked for elimination and they couldn't arrive in time to pass through their thirty minute wait.
