Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Immediately after 'Big Brother' 2010 ended, the winner, Josie Gibson, was the first housemate to go back into the house to compete in 'Ultimate Big Brother' with ten past housemates from previous regular and celebrity 'Big Brother' series. Who was NOT one of her fellow housemates?

Answer: Alex Sibley

Entering the house after Josie were, in order: Chantelle Houghton, Preston, Nadia Almada, Brian Dowling, Ulrika Jonsson, Makosi Musambasi, John McCririck, Coolio, Nikki Grahame and Nick Bateman.

Alex Sibley had finished in third place on 'Big Brother' 3 in 2002 but was not a housemate in 'Ultimate Big Brother'.
2. Chantelle Houghton, when she won 'Celebrity Big Brother' series 4 in 2006, had met a fellow contestant in the house. They subsequently married, although later divorced. What was the name of Chantelle's ex-husband, who was also a contestant on 'Ultimate Big Brother'?

Answer: Preston

Chantelle had not been a celebrity before she entered 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2006, as she had been selected by 'Big Brother' as a 'spoof' contestant, pretending to be a singer in a non-existent band. Her task then had been to convince the housemates that she and her band were real.

She won the task and proved herself so popular with the public that she won the show too. Chantelle met singer Preston in the house and they married in August of 2006, but sadly the couple separated in June 2007. They both appeared surprised but pleased to find the other in the house again and got on well, fuelling speculation that they would rekindle their romance after the show.
3. The Tree of Temptation was active right from the start. Who was the Tree's first victim, and what secret task did he or she have to undertake for the whole of the first day?

Answer: John McCririck - to be nice to housemates

John McCririck had been the second person to be evicted from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house when he had been a contestant in 2005, due largely to the fact that he had made himself very unpopular with many of his fellow housemates because of his inflammatory and often controversial comments, together with his refusal to participate in tasks set by Big Brother.

The Tree of Temptation was quick to choose John for the first task, with often hilarious results. John passed his task but complained that he was not rewarded with a newspaper as promised.

In 'Ultimate Big Brother' he was the first housemate to be evicted.
4. On the third day, one of the contestants walked out of the house, shocking their housemates to the core. Which housemate was so unhappy she felt she had to leave?

Answer: Josie

Josie felt she could not stay in the house any longer because she was missing John James, with whom she had struck up a relationship in the house. Also, since being declared the winner of 'Big Brother 11', she had only been out of the house for a few minutes for her winner's interview with presenter Davina McCall, before having to go straight back in again with no opportunity to see her loved ones. Having already been in there for eleven weeks, Josie claimed to have felt under increasing pressure.

She left the house via the fire exit to find John James outside. The housemates were stunned to hear she had left.
5. Coolio left the house by mutual consent with 'Big Brother', following a heated argument with which housemate?

Answer: Nadia

Coolio and 'Big Brother 5' winner Nadia Almada fell out over various issues which culminated in Nadia threatening to leave the house unless Coolio went. After discussions with Big Brother, Coolio left the house on Day 5 via the back door by what was described as 'mutual agreement'. Nadia did not last much longer in the house, as she was evicted herself six days later.
6. After the eviction on the first Friday, two more former housemates entered the house, to live secretly in a bedsit in the task room until they joined the rest of the housemates later. Which two housemates were they?

Answer: Michelle Bass and Victor Ebuwa

Michelle and Victor were both housemates on 'Big Brother 5' in 2004. This time round, Michelle was evicted on Day 16, while Victor 'Slick Vic' made it to the final, finishing in fourth place. During their time in the bedsit they were able to monitor activity in the house and play pranks on the unsuspecting housemates; in particular, Nikki trying to escape from sinister clown 'Mr Snuggles' was hilarious! Michelle and Victor were able to join their housemates on Day 6.
7. Which celebrity housemate from the first 'Celebrity Big Brother' series in 2001 returned in 'Ultimate Big Brother'?

Answer: Vanessa Feltz

TV personality Vanessa Feltz had only managed to stay in the house for four days before being evicted on her first visit. In 'Ultimate Big Brother' she fared better, entering on Day 11 and sharing a double eviction on Day 16 with Michelle Bass.
8. Which skincare brand had sponsored 'Big Brother 2010' and was also responsible for sponsoring 'Ultimate Big Brother'?

Answer: Freederm

Freederm is a leading skincare brand in the UK, with its products aimed primarily at the younger end of the market. They provided some amusing advertising in the lead-in to the commercial breaks of 'Big Brother 2010' and 'Ultimate Big Brother'.
9. Brian Dowling had been the bookies' favourite right from the beginning and won the title of Ultimate Housemate, but can you remember who came second?

Answer: Nikki Grahame

Popular housemate Nikki Grahame, from Watford, was thrilled to finish in second place and Chantelle Houghton was the third place housemate.

Ulrika Jonsson made it to the final but was first to leave, finishing in seventh place. Singer Samuel Preston finished in sixth place and 'Nasty' Nick Bateman (now dubbed 'Nice' Nick) was fifth. Victor Ebuwa finished in fourth place; he was the only housemate to have received no nominations during his stay.
10. Lastly, what is the name of the 'Big Brother' housemate who met an untimely death from cervical cancer in 2009 aged 27 and whose memory was honoured during the final night with a short documentary? (First name and surname - spelling is important).

Answer: Jade Goody

Hugely popular and much loved by her legions of fans, Jade Goody was arguably the most famous reality TV star Britain has ever known. From her first appearance in the third series of 'Big Brother' in 2002 where she finished in fourth place, she was quick to capitalise on her new-found fame by carving out a highly successful career in television and other media, and also launching her own products and DVDs. In 2007 Jade featured in 'Celebrity Big Brother 5' where she, with others, unfortunately became embroiled in a 'race row' which made her popularity plummet for a while, but after profuse and sincere apologies and a little time away from the public eye she succeeded in regaining her popularity.

A former dental nurse, Jade was the mother of two lovely sons with her former partner Jeff Brazier. Though terminally ill, she was determined to secure her sons' futures and courageously allowed TV cameras to film her during her battle with cancer. She married her husband, Jack Tweed, a month before her death in March 2009, which, poignantly, was on Mothers' Day. Jade fought hard and bravely to raise awareness of cervical cancer and it is estimated that the publicity she brought to the cause has already saved many women's lives and will continue to save many more in the future.
