Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. So many different characters have lived in a building on Bedford Street in New York City. On what television show can you see these coffee friend's home weekly?

Answer: Friends

Monica and Rachel lived across the hall from Joey and Chandler, but then Monica got engaged to Chandler and the next thing you know Rachel is living with Joey. Phoebe also lived with Monica for a bit, but we know that Monica is a bit of a neat freak, while Phoebe is just a freaky freak of fun, so it didn't last long. Ross did stay with the guys for a short bit, but both Chandler and Joey could only take so much of Ross.

All in all you can visit this site in New York City at 90 Bedford Street in Manhattan! Look up and remember all the fun episodes of the six friends that made it work for 10 years. "Friends" was a popular sitcom from 1994 and we all watched the six laugh, cry and dance in front of the fountain weekly. My favorite shows were Phoebe learning to ride a bike and Ross and his whitened teeth. My only question is. How much was the monthly rent here?
2. In what weekly cartoon could we hear "Yabba Dabba Doo" in a similar house?

Answer: Flintstones

In a little town of Bedrock you'll find the Flintstones and the Rubbles living next door to each other. Every week they would go to the drive in movies and Fred would order a rack of ribs. Along for the ride would be Wilma, his wife and his daughter Pebbles, who always had a bone in her hair. I guess you wouldn't have modern hair clips back in the Stone Age.

Hanna and Barbera created the fun show that kept us laughing at cartoons for six years, starting in 1960. Fred always reminded me of Jackie Gleason and sending Alice "to the moon". Where Fred would yell, 'WILMA' when he was angry, yet at the end of the episode he loved Wilma so much.
3. You want to visit the Crawley family? Which television show would you see a massive home, similar to to this building?

Answer: Downton Abbey

In 2010 the start of one of my favorite shows that followed the lives of the Crawley family in their massive home. It wasn't just the family but their staff as well we followed every week for six series. They went on to make a couple of movies to keep us entertained in the Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England.

Robert Crawley and his wife, Cora were the mother and father to three beautiful girls, one a bit arrogant and rude, but we loved Lady Mary. I also loved the behind the scenes in the kitchen with Anna and John Bates. When the series ended I was so sad, but happy to see things work out with the Mary and Edith at the end.
4. What city does JR Ewing live in? It's also the name of the popular television show. The type of cattle are a hint.

Answer: Dallas

One of the most famous questions of all was, "Who shot JR Ewing"? I think the second most famous scene was Bobby in shower. Every week I would tune into "Dallas" and watch the Ewings battle it out with their fighting and sly ways. "Dallas" was on for over ten years. It spun off to "Knots Landing" and they tried to keep up in 2012 with the new "Dallas", but flopped after two seasons.

JR, known as John Ross was the older and more evil brother of the Ewing boys. He would stick a knife in your back to get whatever he wanted. Finally we discovered after waiting all summer that Kristin Shepard shot him, but he survived to keep us hating him weekly!

You can visit the Southfork Ranch, which is slightly over 200 acres, and see the famous Ewing Mansion just outside of Dallas, Texas.
5. Carol and Mike lived in a 1970s home raising six children (three wore mini skirts) in what television show?

Answer: The Brady Bunch

For five seasons we watched all six of the Brady kids grow up and wear groovy clothes and walking down the staircase of this Studio City, California home. The house is located at 11122 Dilling Street in real life, but in the show it was on Clinton Way. The kids tried to sing in an episode or two, but stick to the Partridge family for better singing. One of my favorite episodes was where Peter Brady did his Humphrey Bogart impression with "pork chops and applesauce" routine. The show had a few celebrities visit the set. Joe Namath and Rita Wilson but my favorite was Davy Jones from the Monkees.

If you're in the mood for a fun comedy, the gang was replaced in "The Brady Bunch Movie" in 1995. Love their fun antics and making fun, in a good way, of the original gang. You can even see a couple of the originals in there too.
6. What was the name of the family that lived in the Chartwell (Kirkeby) Mansion in California?

Answer: Clampett

Every week we visited the home of Jed Clampett, his daughter, granny and his nephew, where you could find chickens and so many other critters running around the grounds. "The Beverly Hillbillies" was a success from 1962 for 9 seasons. Television was fun back in the '60s with 'backwood' families like "Green Acres" and "Petticoat Junction". It was like real live people like you and me. Mind you, I don't have any varmints around here, but I enjoyed the show.

Buddy Ebsen played the role of Pa (Jed Clampett) and went on to have another hit with "Barnaby Jones" for seven seasons. No one else had major successes in Hollywood other than Buddy.

The Chartwell Mansion or Kirkeby Mansion wasn't even in Beverly Hills, it was located in Bel-Air, California. Surprisingly that massive mansion had only five bedrooms at the time. You can visit the home on 750 Bel Air Road, but don't even think about trying to get a glimpse. It's hidden and you can't visit.
7. The Tanner family lived in this house in San Francisco. What is the name of the television show where you could catch Candace Cameron playing the role of DJ Tanner?

Answer: Full House

When Danny Tanner lost his wife he got two new roommates to help him raise his three daughters in San Francisco. His best friend Joey and his brother in law, Jesse came to help out. From 1987 to 1995 the family grew and added a few new characters in "Full House". Fast forward to 2016 and now DJ Tanner has lost her husband, but this time she's the mother of three boys. For four seasons we laughed with the old gang, and new additions but never was able to see the Olsen twins in "Fuller House". Both of the shows were silly and fun and kept me waiting for DJ to find the man of her dreams.

Both the shows had the gang living at 1822 Gerard, however the real Victorian style home can be found at 1709 Broadrick Street in San Francisco.
8. Opie Taylor and his Pa lived in this house in Mayberry. What was the name of the television show starring these two?

Answer: The Andy Griffith Show

If you have a chance to go back and watch this entire series, I guarantee laughs galore. At least for a few years anyhow. Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts was the main reason this show was a hit. He had the best expressions of anyone I'd ever seen. He won the Emmy five times for his funny antics on the show. I visited Mount Airy, North Carolina and saw the cute little town based on the show and it was like a good ol' home town. You can have your picture taken by the police car or stand by Floyd's Barber Shop.

The scenes for the show was actually filmed in Los Angeles, but the home itself was designed by the looks of the Gertrude Smith home in Mayberry, North Carolina. Over the past few years I have visited many Mayberry styled towns. Each one claiming to be 'the real Mayberry' and each one having a police car and museums, but in my opinion only, Mount Airy wins hands down!
9. What television family lives at 742 Evergreen Terrace in Springfield?

Answer: The Simpsons

You can actually see the real live Simpson's home in Henderson, Nevada. The rooms were at one time all painted bright bold colors, including the outside of the home.

Everyone thought the family lived in Springfield, Illinois, but come to find out the state was actually Oregon. The cartoon first aired in 1989 and continued for decades. We've never seen the three children grown an inch. We've seen Moe and Ned and the same characters for years and how many beers have we seen Homer drink? I personally don't think I've seen more than two episodes in my entire life. Maybe, just maybe this would be one to stream one day.
10. Adam West used this type of entrance and exit for many years on what television show?

Answer: Batman

The man with the best toys was Batman and he had the coolest car that would go in and out of this cave that was located in Griffith Park, California. If you go to visit you will want to bring your photo op signs like ZAP or POW to hold as you stand by the entrance.

I loved watching the original "Batman" with West and Burt Ward as Robin. The original characters had charisma and class as they danced and laughed with the Joker, Catwoman and the Penguin. I put this show on just recently and laughed as they 'fought'. Nothing like the old time tv shows for a good time. Adam West kept us entertained for three seasons in the '60s. The "Batman" series has gone on to so many different versions over the years, but there is only one original!
