Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Larry

The earliest Koopaling Mario faces in this game is actually the last one he would have seen back in "Super Mario World" (SNES), and this time he's a bit of a different foe to face. In the first battle against him, midway through World 1, all he'll do is shoot fireballs and hide away in his shell, requiring Mario to time jumps on his head with minimal complexity.

The second match, in the castle at the end of the World, has him doing much of the same, but on moving platforms.
2. Roy

Roy would have originally been found later in "Super Mario World", appearing as the fifth boss (in the Forest of Illusion). In this game, he moves up to appearing in the second world, a slot formerly occupied by Morton Koopa. As with the other bosses, Mario has to jump on Roy's head to do damage, bouncing three times to end the fights.

The first of these sets up the battle's premise wherein Roy will shoot magic, but also jump into the air to create a seismic wave that stuns Mario on the ground.

The second battle is quite similar, but features pipes on the ceiling that Roy will use to get the jump on Mario on the floor.
3. Lemmy

Lemmy occupies the game's third World, an icy land where friction has less stake in the environment, and it's because of this that Mario might find himself not only needing to dodge projectiles that push him around in battle, but struggling to find his balance on icy floors. Lemmy will balance atop a large ball during his fights, so Mario needs to get enough height to jump on top without bouncing elsewhere. Magikoopa will make the ball bigger for the second fight.
4. Wendy

Marking the halfway(-ish) point of the game, Wendy Koopa doesn't offer up much complexity in her first fight as her sole means of complicating things involves a near-everlasting projectile that bounces around the room, but her second battle, at the end of World 4, sees Magikoopa flooding the space, forcing Mario to wait out the water level unless he has projectiles of his own.

The water will recede, however, albeit briefly, so jumping on her just like the others will be the best idea.
5. Iggy

Although Iggy led the charge in "Super Mario World", being the game's first boss to face, he comes in World 5 in this game, letting loose with rapid-fire green energy blasts from his magic wand. His second battle is much more interesting since it takes place in a loop where he'll be dragged around by a Chain Chomp harnessed to a large chariot.

The same 'jump three times' gimmick applies here, but keep a distance and stay away from the front of the procession!
6. Morton

Another larger Koopaling, not unlike Roy, Morton throws his weight around in World 6, appearing in a battle room (in his first instance) where you have no room to move safely and then returning for a Magikoopa-infused stage where he can use the floor against you, squashing you against the ceiling if you don't have the agility to get out of the way. Like Wendy before him, Morton is followed by one of Bowser Jr.'s airship levels.
7. Ludwig

Ludwig von Koopa is the last of the Koopalings that Mario faces and he's one of the most slippery due to his uncanny ability to flutter jump like Yoshi, keeping him in the air for a good amount of both battles. The first battle won't be too bad provided you can hold onto your patience for the attack, but in the second, Magikoopa creates a constantly moving battle room, forcing Mario to fight on constantly rising and lowering platforms, making the escape from Ludwig's shell attack all the more perilous.
8. Magikoopa

Hiding away in the first of two castles in World 8, Magikoopa puts himself in the way of the final boss(es) after only a short bout through a volcanic world of constant peril. The real obstacle is the battle room since he'll use his magic to create a constantly-shifting series of platforms, and if his magic spells hit those, they'll transform into enemies or, on the rare occasion, power-ups. Attacking him is the same as any other Koopaling-- three hits and he's done.
9. Bowser Jr.

Though Bowser Jr. will ride around in his airship and his Koopa Clown Car at the end of World 4 and World 6 (after facing their respective bosses), his final appearance will be in the penultimate level and second of three castles in World 8. Here, he'll be in his largest Clown Car yet, dropping massive bombs while shooting homing fireballs. If Mario can time his ground pounds properly, he'll be able to fight fire with fire and proceed to the final trials of the game.
10. Bowser

The natural character to be the final boss-- it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that this classic take on the "Mario" platformer ends with a fight against Bowser. Though you will start by fighting Bowser in a traditional room that includes a bridge that drops out, Magikoopa will wave his want to kick the battle into a second stage and Mario will have to maneuver through barricades to get to the real Princess Peach. Fortunately, Bowser's on fireballs are the solution. If you can dodge and position yourself to draw his blasts, you can make your own way to the finish button.
