Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Brotherhood of Blood is arguably the most chaotic covenant. The player can progress through the covenant by either duelling other players near the covenant's NPC, Gren, or they can defeat other players in extremely specific situations to do so. Apart from duelling, how can the player progress their rank here?

Answer: Killing Blue Sentinels

The way this works is quite complicated and confusing, so bear with me here:

If a player is invaded, and a different player who is a member of the Blue Sentinels has the Guardian's Seal equipped, that Blue Sentinel may automatically be summoned into the invaded player's world to help them fight the invader. If this happens and a member of the Brotherhood of Blood has the Crest of Blood equipped, that player will then be automatically summoned into the world to help the invader fight the Blue Sentinel. All players involved must have identical Soul Memories and they all must be in the same area. For the Brotherhood of Blood player, their goal is to defeat the Blue Sentinel player. Doing this will force the Brotherhood of Blood player out of the world and will reward them with a +1 to their covenant progress. On the other hand, if the Brotherhood of Blood player manages to defeat the host and Blue Sentinel simultaneously, they'll gain a +2 to their covenant, though it'll be +0 if the host is slain but the Blue Sentinel is not.
2. For those embarking upon the arduous task of ascending your ranks in the Company of Champions, you will unfortunately have to sacrifice the NPC questlines of Lucatiel of Mirrah and Benhart of Jugo, and you won't be able to assist friends in multiplayer. Why is this?

Answer: Cooperative play is turned off

When joining the Company of Champions, any and all cooperative multiplayer will be permanently disabled until the player leaves the covenant. The player can still be invaded, and their world will be prioritized for invaders as well. They cannot receive the support of the Blue Sentinels should they be invaded.

The lack of co-op extends even to NPCs, whose summon signs will not appear at all when joining this covenant.
3. The Bell Keepers covenant rewards the player with a sorcery they can't get any other way when maxing the covenant out. What sorcery is this?

Answer: Hidden Weapon

Hidden Weapon's purpose is self explanatory: using it causes the user's weapon to become invisible for a significant period of time. Unfortunately, this won't change any of the animations the user will undergo whilst using their weapon, so the opponent can still easily distinguish the type of weapon and, in some cases, the specific weapon the player is using.
4. Interestingly, the Crest of the Rat earned by entering the Rat King covenant actually has significant application directly in combat, unlike its fellow covenants and their respective rings. The Crest of the Rat is very helpful for players seeking to mainly wield a particular type of status. What status is this?

Answer: Poison

If the player is using a weapon which has been infused by a Poison Stone, a weapon which innately inflicts Poison build up, or both, the Crest of the Rat will enhance this weapon's ability to poison its targets. If the weapon both innately inflicts Poison and was further infused by it, the Crest of the Rat's power peaks, adding 60 build up to that weapon.

There are unfortunately only seven weapons which qualify for this, some notable examples being Mytha's Bent Blade, the Black Scorpion Stinger and the Spotted Whip.
5. The Pilgrims of the Dark covenant uniquely gives the player exclusive access to a boss when it's covenant rank is maxed. What boss is this?

Answer: Darklurker

Darklurker is well-known for being arguably the hardest boss in the entire game, reached only by maxing out the player's rank with the Pilgrims of the Dark, then finishing one of the three Dark Chasm of Old areas.
6. The Dragon Remnants covenant is arguably the trickiest covenant to level up, but it could also arguably be the easiest depending on your situation. Which of the following is true?

Answer: People have to willingly fight you to progress the covenant

The Dragon Eye is the main item tied to this covenant. It works almost identically to a Red Sign Soapstone, in that the player places the Dragon Eye down, and if someone summons them, the summoner and summoned are treated as enemies of one another by the game, and are able to fight and kill each other. If this is done, the winner of this fight will earn a Dragon Scale needed to progress the covenant.

As such, if you don't have a friend willing to fight you to level up this covenant, levelling it up could be quite cumbersome as you'd essentially have to rely on random people summoning you, then defeating those random people, to progress the covenant.
7. The Heirs of the Sun covenant takes after it's obvious inspiration in "Dark Souls 1's" Solaire of Astora and gives the player one way to rank the covenant up: good old jolly cooperation. What must a player do to progress this covenant?

Answer: Help others defeat bosses

Simple as can be, if a Heirs of the Sun member helps another player defeat a boss, they progress this covenant. After thirty bosses, the covenant will be maxed.
8. Way of the Blue is the only covenant requiring interaction with another covenant in order to progress itself. Which other covenant does Way of the Blue interact with?

Answer: Blue Sentinels

If a Way of the Blue member is invaded, a Blue Sentinel arrives to help fight the invader, and the invader is eventually defeated, Way of the Blue gets a +1. The covenant specifically only progresses if a Blue Sentinel showed up.
9. If you enjoy invading other players and start racking up wins, you should be careful, as members of this covenant will start invading you more and more frequently in return. What covenant is this?

Answer: Blue Sentinels

When a Blue Sentinel uses a Cracked Blue Eye Orb, the game will have the Blue Sentinel invade the player in their area, close to their Soul Memory, who has slain the most players via invasion, indicated by an invisible 'sin' count. After 100 'sins', that player becomes a 'Wretch' and will be mainly prioritized by the Cracked Blue Eye Orb.
10. If the player doesn't care about a particular covenant, they may feel inclined to kill a particular covenant leader, as most of them do drop items. Which of the following is an item one of the covenant leaders will drop?

Answer: Dragon Chime

Darkdiver Grandahl will drop this weapon if he is slain. Other notable drops would be Blue Knight Targray dropping the Blue Knight's Halberd, Magerold of Lanafir dropping the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +1, or Titchy Gren dropping the Naha Alma's Hood.

The Heirs of the Sun do not have a leader that can drop anything. As well, when slain, the Rat King doesn't drop anything at all. These are the only two covenants that do not reward reckless barbarism.
