3. Felkin the Outcast can sell the player one of the most notoriously overpowered rings in the game, a ring which completely negates any and all penalties for dying. What ring is this? Hint

Question 4 of 15
4. Assuming this is a new character on their first playthrough, and is not on New Game Plus, Huntman's Copse will be the first map introducing an NPC who can invade the player several times in a multitude of different areas. Who is this NPC? Hint

Question 5 of 15
5. In a small, cramped cave in the middle of the woods lies a cave. In this cave is a large swath of skeletons, but they will continue to get up time and time again regardless of how many times the player "kills" them. There is a way to make their defeat permanent. What is this way? Hint

Question 6 of 15
6. There are two area bosses and a massive area in general to be explored. Because of this, it may be a good idea to use this map's single NPC summon for assistance, in either fight or for general travel. What NPC is this? Hint

Question 7 of 15
7. The Skeleton Lords are the "main" boss of the area, who will need to be defeated for the player to advance to the next area. Their boss room is hidden away, but in the most cliched way possible. Behind what is this boss door hidden? Hint

Question 8 of 15
8. Depending on the weaponry and strategy used, the Skeleton Lords boss can be a lot of fun, or quite annoying. For the former, it would be best to use a strategy involving exploiting their biggest weakness. What is it? Hint

Question 9 of 15
9. In an ironic twist, the Skeleton Lords per the game's lore were originally tasked by the Iron King to come to Huntsman's Copse to do what? Hint

Question 10 of 15
10. For the player to access the map's "side" boss will require them to find the Undead Lockaway key. The key is perched atop a grassy platform just above the Skeleton Lords boss, and can be easily retrieved. Doing so, however, will cause this NPC to invade the player. Who is it? Hint

Question 11 of 15
11. The side boss of this area is the Executioner's Chariot. During an introductory cutscene, the game essentially reveals how to unravel the gimmick of this boss fight entirely. When arriving atop the tower this boss fight takes place in and pulling a lever, what will happen? Hint

Question 12 of 15
12. As the player travels through the boss building of the Executioner's Chariot, they will be continually harassed by skeletons. The Chariot itself can run them over, but luring them in its path could be hard unless the player has this item. What item could lure these skeletons away? Hint

Question 13 of 15
13. Despite each Skeleton Lord wielding their own unique weapon, the Skeleton Lord Soul can only be converted into one weapon. What weapon is this? Hint

Question 14 of 15
14. The Executioner's Charior Soul can be turned into a weapon or a shield. What is the weapon? Hint

Question 15 of 15
15. The Executioner's Chariot Soul can be used on a shield, and this shield is arguably the most interesting, creative shield in the game, perhaps in all of From Software history. This is because of its secondary function- apart from simply block incoming attacks, what can this shield do? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To even get to the Huntman's Copse in the first place requires interacting with a specific NPC. The player can either talk to her and pay her to grant them entry, or the player can just use force to get what they want. Which NPC grants access to the Huntman's Copse?

Answer: Licia of Linheldt

In order to get to Licia, the player must first defeat the Dragonrider boss fight at Heide's Tower of Flame. Once this is done, the player can speak to Licia to get her to come to Majula. Once this is achieved, she will be found standing next to the Ratunda, a device which will alter the structure of the building they're in to now grant access to Huntman's Copse but bar off Heide's Tower of Flame in the process. Of course, the player could still teleport in and out of Heide's Tower of Flame if they wanted.

If the player doesn't want to spend two thousand Souls and the time needed to get Licia to Majula, they can simply kill her, causing her to drop the Ratunda Lockstone and giving the player the ability to freely use it. Licia has a surprisingly high amount of health, access to end game Miracles such as Wrath of the Gods, and does not stagger easily, so killing her is easier said than done.
2. Right from the get go, the NPC known as Felkin the Outcast can be found right by the very first bonfire of the area. However, he will ignore the player unless they can meet a low albeit specific stat prerequisite. What prerequisite is this?

Answer: 8 in Intelligence and Faith

Felkin is a Hex focused merchant. Because Hex spells scale off of both Intelligence and Faith, having a prerequisite in these stats makes sense.
3. Felkin the Outcast can sell the player one of the most notoriously overpowered rings in the game, a ring which completely negates any and all penalties for dying. What ring is this?

Answer: Ring of Life Protection

The Ring of Life Protection will prevent hollowing as well as stop the player from losing their Souls upon death, effectively negating any penalty apart from time lost that could be incurred by death. The ring itself will break in the process and will require repair before it can function again. This repair costs a mere 14,000 Souls, a drop in the bucket by the late game.
4. Assuming this is a new character on their first playthrough, and is not on New Game Plus, Huntman's Copse will be the first map introducing an NPC who can invade the player several times in a multitude of different areas. Who is this NPC?

Answer: Forlorn

Referred to in the lore as "The Forlorn" but in game as simply "Forlorn", Forlorn attacks with a Greatsword and will follow the player to the ends of the Earth before they would even consider giving up the chase. That is to say, once Forlorn arrives, a fight is all but guaranteed unless a boss room happens to be right there.

It should be noted that Forlorn can invade the player in a total of eight different spots. Each time the player goes to one of these spots, as long as the area boss is still alive, there is a 10% chance Forlorn will invade them upon arriving.
5. In a small, cramped cave in the middle of the woods lies a cave. In this cave is a large swath of skeletons, but they will continue to get up time and time again regardless of how many times the player "kills" them. There is a way to make their defeat permanent. What is this way?

Answer: Kill the nearest Necromancer

These skeletons are being controlled by a Necromancer nearby, making the solution to this problem fairly straightforward.
6. There are two area bosses and a massive area in general to be explored. Because of this, it may be a good idea to use this map's single NPC summon for assistance, in either fight or for general travel. What NPC is this?

Answer: Bashful Ray

Bashful Ray is incredibly tanky and quite aggressive. If the player is invaded by Forlorn or the NPC Merciless Roenna, Ray can solo either one without the player's support, which is quite helpful.
7. The Skeleton Lords are the "main" boss of the area, who will need to be defeated for the player to advance to the next area. Their boss room is hidden away, but in the most cliched way possible. Behind what is this boss door hidden?

Answer: A waterfall

A crashing waterfall shields this boss room from view. For a first time player with no assistance, this can definitely trip them up. Given the relatively linear design of the map, however, it won't stump most players for too, too long, as they'll eventually stumble upon it when exploring the map.
8. Depending on the weaponry and strategy used, the Skeleton Lords boss can be a lot of fun, or quite annoying. For the former, it would be best to use a strategy involving exploiting their biggest weakness. What is it?

Answer: Strike

Strike weapons will make this fight easy to the point of being a total joke, as a Strike weapon which is even slightly strong will one shot the skeleton mobs, and will likely two shot the Lords themselves at the worst.
9. In an ironic twist, the Skeleton Lords per the game's lore were originally tasked by the Iron King to come to Huntsman's Copse to do what?

Answer: Hunt Undead

The Skeleton Lords eventually succumbed to the Undead Curse which the Iron King was trying to resist. This twist means the lords ultimately became that which they sought to hunt.
10. For the player to access the map's "side" boss will require them to find the Undead Lockaway key. The key is perched atop a grassy platform just above the Skeleton Lords boss, and can be easily retrieved. Doing so, however, will cause this NPC to invade the player. Who is it?

Answer: Merciless Roenna

Roenna is fortunately very easy to defeat, as she spawns right at the edge of this platform, and can simply be kicked off the edge to fall to her death. She staggers very easily, so the player could also just square up and likely defeat her easily.
11. The side boss of this area is the Executioner's Chariot. During an introductory cutscene, the game essentially reveals how to unravel the gimmick of this boss fight entirely. When arriving atop the tower this boss fight takes place in and pulling a lever, what will happen?

Answer: The horse will crash and wipe out

In scaling this three story high tower, the horse attached to the chariot will be traveling up and down, patrolling. As it does so, it can run over the player for major damage, necessitating careful timing in making their way up to the top. Once the lever is pulled, a portcullis at the top of the tower will close, causing the horse to crash into it during its next patrol and wipe out.

The wipe out kills the Executioner and deals significant damage to the horse as well. The horse doesn't die however, and to finish the fight, the player must now kill it as it rises to attack the player.
12. As the player travels through the boss building of the Executioner's Chariot, they will be continually harassed by skeletons. The Chariot itself can run them over, but luring them in its path could be hard unless the player has this item. What item could lure these skeletons away?

Answer: Alluring Skull

Tossing an Alluring Skull will cause mindless hollows and undead to walk towards it. The player can simply throw an Alluring Skull in the Chariot's path right as it arrives, and the Chariot will happily plow them all down. They will not permanently die unless their Necromancer has been slain, however.
13. Despite each Skeleton Lord wielding their own unique weapon, the Skeleton Lord Soul can only be converted into one weapon. What weapon is this?

Answer: Roaring Halberd

The Roaring Halberd is basically a halberd with split physical/Dark damage. It unfortunately doesn't have any special weapon art or anything to that effect. This is used by one of the three Skeleton Lords, though it's unlikely anyone would've complained if the other two, much cooler looking Great Scythe or Aldia Warlock Catalyst could've been obtained as well.
14. The Executioner's Charior Soul can be turned into a weapon or a shield. What is the weapon?

Answer: Chariot Lance

This is one of two Lances in the entire game, the other being the Grand Lance. Compared to the Grand Lance, the Chariot Lance deals slightly less base damage and cannot be infused or buffed, though it deals innate Bleed damage. If you're picking the Chariot Lance, you're doing it for that Bleed damage, the value of which is slightly inconsistent. Against a boss who cannot be bled, such as Fume Knight, the Chariot Lance would be solid but still directly inferior to the Grand Lance.
15. The Executioner's Chariot Soul can be used on a shield, and this shield is arguably the most interesting, creative shield in the game, perhaps in all of From Software history. This is because of its secondary function- apart from simply block incoming attacks, what can this shield do?

Answer: Fire crossbow bolts

The Shield Crossbow is a 100% physical absorption shield capable of also generating its own offence to complement this. The shield can block attacks as it is firing a bolt, though it will suffer a penalty to its Stability if this event takes place.
