Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The end of episode 3 and episode 4 immediately reveal to the player who the suspect of this episode's murder trial will be. Who has been accused of shooting someone while out on a boat at Gourd Lake?

Answer: Miles Edgeworth

The man who has opposed Phoenix Wright most competently up to this point will now be depending on his rival for defense this time.

The cutscene the player is shown shows an unidentified man talking about "getting his revenge", before gunfire is heard. After the shots are heard, the camera pans to Edgeworth, sitting in the boat, looking very surprised. The next camera shot shows an arm belonging to someone outside the frame gripping and shooting a handgun.
2. Phoenix Wright's rival, Miles Edgeworth, is unable to oppose him for this trial. Who heads the prosecution in this episode?

Answer: Manfred von Karma

Before seeing him in court, the player is told that Manfred von Karma is a legendary prosecutor who Phoenix Wright has no chance against. Von Karma's career has gone on for forty years, during which it is said he has never lost a case in court.
3. We learn this episode that Miles Edgeworth has an extreme fear of a particular type of natural disaster. What is Edgeworth afraid of?

Answer: Earthquakes

While speaking with Edgeworth in the Detention Center, a mild earthquake takes place. As this happens, Edgeworth's ordinarily calm demeanor completely and immediately unravels. He collapses to the floor from his seat and begins to hyperventilate as the earthquake occurs. He doesn't recover before Phoenix and Maya leave.
4. One witness, Lotta Hart, ends up testifying in court. As it turns out, almost all of her testimony was a lie, including her reasoning for camping near Gourd Lake. Why was Lotta camping at Gourd Lake?

Answer: She was looking for a sea monster

Gourdy, the sea monster who the lake is supposedly named after, was the target of Lotta's attention. Originally, she claimed to have been camping so she could stargaze.
5. Before the end of the first trial, Lotta reveals new evidence: an enlargened, much clearer shot of the shooting taking place. It doesn't show exactly who did the shooting, but it reveals something crucial about the shooter Phoenix Wright can use. What do we learn about the shooter here?

Answer: He's left-handed

Miles Edgeworth is right-handed. The fact that the killer was a leftie is of major significance, as it casts doubt into the notion that Edgeworth did the shooting. This by itself doesn't clear Edgeworth's name, but it is a very advantageous way to end the first trial.
6. After the first day of trial, Phoenix and Maya encounter an old face-- Phoenix's best friend and former client, Larry Butz. As it turns out, Larry has a job at Gourd Lake. What does he do?

Answer: Run a hot dog stand

Larry runs the Steel Samurai stand, a hot dog shop whose speciality is the "Samurai Dog".
7. The boat shop caretaker ends up turning into a major figure. He claims not to remember his own name after an accident, but this is later proven to have been a lie. What is this man's name?

Answer: Yanni Yogi

Yanni Yogi had a lot of involvement in the trial on the last day. His name is important, as he is also one of the men who was present when Edgeworth's father was murdered fifteen years prior to the events of this game.
8. Phoenix Wright finds himself in quite a strange case, as he is tasked with cross-examining something which is not a human being in this episode. What does he cross-examine on the penultimate trial?

Answer: A parrot

Yanni Yogi's pet, Polly, happens to have been tasked with remembering very important numbers and events for her owner. The idea of cross-examining her would be to get her to reveal this important information.
9. In the end, who was the shooter at Gourd Lake?

Answer: Yanni Yogi

Von Karma's hands aren't clean in this situation entirely, as he did write a letter encouraging and helping Yanni Yogi to plan for the murder. As well, Von Karma turns out to have been the man who murdered Edgeworth's father almost fifteen years prior, just before the statute of limitations on that case ran out. As a result, both von Karma and Yogi were arrested for their actions.
10. Does Phoenix Wright secure a Not Guilty verdict for his client?

Answer: Yes

Phoenix Wright is able to strike a defeat upon von Karma's glorious record, and get von Karma sent to jail in the process.

After the fact, Edgeworth thanks Phoenix Wright and acknowledges his accomplishment, while also warning him that things will go back to the way they were after this day, and that he will "see you in court."
