Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Lana Skye is the defendant in yet another murder trial. She presents a unique challenge for Phoenix Wright, mainly because of one of the first things she does when meeting him. What does Lana Skye do during her first meeting with Phoenix Wright?

Answer: Confess her guilt

Lana outright admits to killing the victim. She will also do as much under oath, in front of court, later in the episode. This makes defending her out to be a special kind of irritating.
2. Martin von Karma opposed Phoenix Wright last episode, but at the time of this episode, he's in jail. Who is the prosecutor for this trial?

Answer: Miles Edgeworth

Edgeworth is back and better than ever. At the beginning of trial, he will request that Phoenix Wright refrain from letting their personal, overall positive experience from last episode together muddy his feelings for the upcoming trial. In essence, while Edgeworth clearly respects Wright and likely considers Wright to be a friend, Edgeworth is all business during trial.
3. The body for the murder victim was found in quite a bizarre place. Where was the body discovered?

Answer: Edgeworth's car

In the trunk of Edgeworth's car is where the victim was found. Despite this blatant connection to the case, Edgeworth is still allowed to be a prosecutor for this case nonetheless.
4. A fairly shocking thing happens after just the first witness on the first day in trial. What does The Judge do here?

Answer: Declares a verdict

Because apparently the jury doesn't exist, nor does the defense have any sort of right to an opening statement or any form of argument beyond the first witness, The Judge will rule Lana Skye guilty of murder. Of course, the trial doesn't end here, as the verdict would get "withdrawn" by The Judge shortly after.

However, it is technically the first time one of Phoenix Wright's clients received a guilty verdict. Even if it is a pile of rubbish.
5. Damon Gant, Chief of Police, is brought in to testify. Here, he uses his testimony to implictly challenge the player to do something. What's this?

Answer: Prove a connection

Gant remarks that he cannot comment on a Switchblade presented to the court as evidence unless Phoenix can prove that this weapon is related to the Lana Skye murder trial. Specifically, he says "This knife is special... but I can't say how here. Unless there's evidence to prove a connection between this knife and Goodman..."

When he says this, the player must present the Goodman's Note evidence to prove the connection he's looking for. On the note, "SL-9" is written, which is the case the Switchblade was used in. Bruce Goodman, a detective and the victim, is therefore at least slightly connected to this weapon.
6. Officer Michael Meekins is called to testify during trial. Here, he claims that Bruce Goodman absolutely had to have entered the Evidence Room at 5:15 PM. This is inaccurate, and the player must use one specific piece of evidence to prove this. What item is needed?

Answer: Rubber Glove

The ID Card Record will actually show that Bruce Goodman did indeed enter the Evidence Room at 5:15 - or rather, his ID was used to enter the room at this time. Officer Meekins is spotted approaching someone in the Evidence Room at around this time, but the man he approaches is not Goodman. Meekins' claim that it is impossible to access lockers without fingerprint scan is disproven because the man in the video Meekins approaches has a pair of rubber gloves.

This does not, by itself, disprove Goodman was in the room at this time. But it does create doubt that he was, which is ultimately Phoenix Wright's job in the end here anyway.
7. The very first person to enter the Evidence Room on the day of the murder is also the only one whose name is not next to their ID number. We already know Bruce Goodman, Michael Meekins, Jake Marshall and Edgeworth entered the room on the day of the murder. Whose ID number is "7777777"?

Answer: Damon Gant

Phoenix discovers this as he is searching Gant's office. The safe requires a password, and 7777777 just so happens to be it. Inside the safe are multiple pieces of evidence Gant has clearly knowingly concealed from court. As well, Dick Gumshoe points out that the ID must belong to someone who is an "executive", as only executives get seven-digit IDs while everyone else gets six.
8. Damon Gant testifies a second day on the final day of trial. When Phoenix Wright has him on the ropes during cross-examination, he exercises his right to refuse to testify as the Chief of Police. The Judge warns Gant that there may be risks to deciding to do this. What "risk" is The Judge referring to?

Answer: The inability for Gant to change his mind

Apparently, in this absurd make-believe world, the Chief of Police has the right to simply not testify, for no reason other than on a whim. However, under this set of bizarre rules is another strange stipulation that makes it illegal for Gant to testify again after deciding not to.

As such, because he withdraws from testimony, Gant is not allowed to take the stand again for the rest of the case.
9. Who killed Bruce Goodman and Neil Marshall?

Answer: Damon Gant

Gant had Marshall killed so that he could shield Lana Skye and her sister from looking as if they had done the deed. However, he also used this as a weapon, and a leash, to keep Lana in particular under his thumb as the Head Prosecutor. Meanwhile, he killed Bruce Goodman because he feared Goodman would discover this secret and spill the beans.
10. Is Lana Skye fully absolved of all of her potential crimes by the end of this episode?

Answer: No

Lana Skye still helped Damon Gant cover up the murder of Neil Marshall. She also helped cover up the murder of Bruce Goodman. As an accomplice, she is still very much in legal trouble. The Judge makes this clear, telling her at the end of the murder trial that she will still need to answer in court for these deeds. She also tells Phoenix that her days in prosecution are definitely over as a result of her having forged evidence.

Still, she was found Not Guilty of murder, which is ultimately about as much as can reasonably be expected from Phoenix Wright.
