"Pokemon GO" Fest 2024 Trivia Quiz

If at PoGo Fest 2024, a player could complete timed research that enabled them to gain Fusion Energy. This could then be used to take one Necrozma, pair it with either Solgaleo and Lunala and receive Necrozma's DuskMane or DawnWings forms, rexpectively. This option did not exist unless you were actually in New York City or Sendai, Japan and attending the event.

Answer: Kartana

Unfortunately, region exclusive Ultra Beasts were left off of the event. Even still, Kartana is an absolute super star in PvE, and there were other valuable Ultra Beasts available as well. Buzzwole is a great choice for PvP, Blacephalon is excellent in raids, Nihilego is a top 3 Poison attacker in PvE and, of course, Necrozma was front and center as well as a non-Ultra Beast available for raiding.

Answer: Marshadow

Marshadow is sadly not too good in PvE, and it's merely decent at best in PvP. Still, players could obtain it ahead of time and flaunt its rarity to their less fortunate friends, so at least there's that.

Answer: Unown

Unown of all 26 letters, as well as the exclamation point and question mark variant, could randomly appear. The player must have had an active Incense already going by the time the top of every hour came around. If they did, a handful of Unown would appear to be caught. This is the only way possible to get Unown, and consistently has been for years leading up to this event.

Answer: Eighteen

Combined with the one free pass every player is given every day, the player could have potentially done nineteen raids without dipping into their account's resources to get more. This was obviously quite enticing, as players everywhere came out in droves to raid Necrozma and the various Ultra Beasts at this event.

Answer: Randall's Island

On Randall's Island, Marshadow research could be obtained and a myriad of event-exclusive Pokestops and Gyms were available for trainers to interact with.

Answer: Zero minutes and zero seconds

Raids would literally just appear in gyms, seemingly randomly. There was no prompt suggesting they would soon spawn, they just arrived. This was ultimately a great idea, as players traveling the streets of a busy city or getting on a ship to go do raids probably don't want to sit for 45 minutes and do nothing before a raid can spawn.

In the context of a normal day in a normal town or city, however, a 45 minute warning in advance makes a lot more sense.

This would also stack with bonuses given by Premium Incubators, which could take a 12 KM egg all the way down to just 1.5KM needed to hatch. These eggs give lots of Stardust when hatched and, because players would be walking around a big city for several hours, they could quickly hatch many eggs.

Personally, coming to the event with 20 incubators, I hatched 56 eggs at the event, then benefitted off of the hatch distance reduction to quickly hatch four more eggs when I got home. The average player hatches less than five eggs a week, so to hatch 56 in one day is truly ridiculous.

Answer: Necrozma

Given that Necrozma was essentially the highlight of this event, and it made its debut at this event, this thematically made sense.

230 beats out Giga Impact, the previous holder of this title, by a whopping thirty points. Unlike Giga Impact, these two moves can hit things super effectively, making them extremely useful in raids.
