Starting the second-to-last leg of the race early in the morning outside the President Walmont Hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi, teams were told to fly to Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Once there, teams needed to make their way to Khlong Toei Market to enjoy a Thai delicacy and receive their next clue. The food they were forced to eat ended up being trios of century eggs-- preserved duck eggs known for their distinct texture, colour, and flavour. While on the flight to Bangkok, teams made choices as to who they wanted to U-Turn in the leg to come.

Answer: Han River

The first leg of this season of the race was set entirely in the city of Seoul, South Korea, so racers traveled along the Han River, cutting right through, quite a bit. For this first Road Block task, team members needed to ride on a flyboard out in the river and maneuver the contraption so that they could levitate two meters above the water. Once their line extended to that certain length they could get their next clue and continue on. This task was done by Tyler, Joey, Mikayla, Jasmin, Tim, Nick, Rowah, Adrienne, Ash, and Judy. Alana also elected to take on this task, but she and Niko arrived too late in the day to attempt it.

In the first leg of the race, teams made their way through a series of tasks in Seoul, South Korea and the Road Block allowed them to either make dumplings (in 'Fold 'Em Fast') or participate in cup stacking (in 'Stack 'Em High'). Tom and Tyler, Joey and Viv, H and Mikayla, Femi and Nick, and Rowah and Amani were able to do the latter in under eight seconds while Tim and Rod, Jasmin and Jerome, Chris and Adrienne, Sid and Ash, and Judy and Therese made fifty dumplings. Alana and Niko did not complete a Detour task having fallen so far behind that they were eliminated.

Answer: Zambia

The final five teams were brought to Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Zambia to start their ninth leg of the race, and when they did they opened clues telling them to head to the airport to fly to the nation of Malawi. To do this, they needed to catch a flight from Livingstone (near Victoria Falls) to the Malawian capital, Lilongwe, and head into the city to find a local market. There was a catch, however, as Beau would be waiting for teams upon their arrival in the new country.

Answer: Vietnam

Starting Leg 5 in the town of Ninh Binh, teams ripped open their clues to discover that they would be flying from Hanoi, Vietnam to Mongolia's capital city-- Ulaanbaatar. Upon arriving, teams would need to make their way to the top of the Zaisan War Memorial, three hundred steep stairs up the side of a large hill to the panoramic viewpoint. All eight remaining teams travelled on the same flights, making their way from Hanoi to Shenzen and then to Beijing en route to Ulaanbaatar.

Answer: 'Wheels'

After eating their hundred-year-old eggs, teams received the final Detour clue that they would collect for the race, a choice between 'Water' and 'Wheels'. In 'Water', teams had to memorize twelve riverside landmarks along the Chao Phraya River by riding the local longtail boats. When they correctly placed the locations on a map at the starting station they could get their next clue. In 'Wheels', teams instead headed to a tuk tuk garage to rebuild and outfit a tuk tuk from scratch. Tom and Tyler and Viv and Joey completed 'Water'; Jasmin and Jerome and Tim and Rod completed 'Wheels'.

Answer: Tim and Rod

Upon arriving in Lilongwe, teams were met outside the airport and told that they would need to vote for one other team to be U-Turned, forcing them to complete both sides of the Detour upon arriving at that point in the race. While Tim and Rod voted for Tom and Tyler, all of the other teams, allied, voted for Tim and Rod. When the vote was done, teams located a clue in Mgona Market where they needed to shell and winnow five kilograms of Malawian peanuts to receive their next clue.

Answer: Six

After landing in Zimbabwe, teams were immediately told to head to the nation of Zambia, crossing the Victoria Falls Bridge over the Zambesi River and proceeding by taxi to their next clue waiting at the Batoka Sky Aerodrome. This ended up being the leg's Road Block and it asked for a team member who could 'do things to the letter'. For this task, the selected teammate needed to soar above the Victoria Falls in a microlight aircraft and spot six letters. When they landed and unscrambled the correct letters to spell MUKUNI, they could head to their next destination. Ash, Jerome, Rod, Tyler, Viv, and Femi completed this task.

Answer: Ninh Binh

After experiencing a Vietnamese water puppet show early in the morning, teams ripped open a new clue and were told to direct their gaze to the puppet show itself for their next destination, being able to use a local from outside if they needed help. Their clue was in the form of words around the puppets' necks-- 'BEN XE GIAP BAT', a bus station and the name of their next destination. There, they could get their next clue and grab tickets on the next bus to Ninh Binh, two hours away, where they could choose a Detour task.

Answer: Tom and Tyler

Upon completion of the Detour, teams were directed to Sathon Pier to locate the U-Turn board and discover who received the most votes to take on the extra task. As it turned out, all three other teams voted for Tom and Tyler to take on the second Detour task, so they were forced to head to the tuk tuk garage and finish 'Wheels' in addition to 'Water'. Everyone else was able to head onwards, receiving a Road Block clue next.

Answer: 'Stack'

Completing the peanut challenge, teams had to head to another market in the town of Chezi. There, they could complete either 'Stack' or 'Stitch' (or both!). In 'Stack', teams had to pack bags with charcoal via local methods, then carry the bags to a local vendor. In 'Stitch', the teams instead needed to join a tailor and sew together two shirts using sewing machines powered by a foot pedal. Viv and Joey intentionally went for 'Stitch' while the other teams went with 'Stack' (and Tim and Rod did both for the U-Turn).

Answer: Intersection

Reaching Mukuni Village, teams came across an Intersection, a race mechanic that required two teams to partner up to complete tasks until their instructions allowed them to split up and resume the race. For this task, the four joined members needed to join a local band and play the marimba in sync to receive their next clue. Tom and Tyler intersected with Jasmin and Jerome, Sid and Ash went with Tim and Rod, and Viv and Joey worked with Femi and Nick. Once this task was completed, teams were no longer intersected.

Arriving in Ninh Binh, teams could choose between 'Escargot' and 'Make Boat Go' for their Detour. In 'Escargot', teams could hop into the waters of the local rice paddy fields and harvest one hundred snails to collect their next clue. Alternatively, teams choosing 'Make Boat Go' had to paddle a boat across a river to collect their next clue, but to do that, they needed to paddle their boats with their feet. Following the Detour, teams raced to the docks at Tam Cốc and found a U-Turn board waiting, allowing one team to force another team to go back and complete the second side of the Detour. Jasmin and Jerome used it to U-Turn Sid and Ash.

Answer: Ten

For their first Road Block task of the race, reams were asked 'Who's ready for a river dance?'. This one required that teams choose one member and make their way to the Han River at Hangang Park. There, the selected member had to harness into a flyboard and reach a height of two meters above the surface of the water. As soon as their line reached the proper height they could collect their next clue. Tyler, Joey, Mikayla, Jasmin, Tim, Nick, Rowah, Adrienne, Ash, Judy, and Alana went for this one.

Answer: Seven & 7

The sixth leg of the race featured seven teams and all of them were able to make it through the Road Block with minimal hassle. That being said, two teams were unable to complete the previous task within the time allotted, so they faced a two hour time penalty going through the leg. Sid, Tim, Jerome, Joey, Tom, Nick, and Hayley completed this Road Block, the third of the race, for which they had to memorize a Mongolian chant and perform it to commence a wrestling match. If they did so to the approval of the wrestlers, they could receive a hat they could trade for their clue.

Answer: Jasmin and Jerome

Outside of Ninh Binh, Vietnam, teams braved intense heat in completing one of two tasks. 'Short Strokes', which involved painting traditional masks, was completed by Sid and Ash, Viv and Joey, Femi and Nick, Tim and Rod, Chris and Adrienne, and Rowah and Amani while 'Long Strides', involving stilt-walking on a marked course, was completed by Hayley and Mikayla and Tom and Tyler. Jasmin and Jerome initially went to complete 'Long Strides', but opted instead to complete the Fast Forward available in this leg, successfully doing so and placing fourth overall.

Answer: In Lake Malawi

Completing the Detour in Leg 9, teams hit a brick wall. Heading out into Salima District, teams had to find a marked brickmaking area and mould fifty clay bricks to the approval of a local builder. Getting dirty and completing this allowed teams to take a drive to Lake Malawi and the Kumbali Lake Retreat in Mphere. There, teams had to receive instructions as to where they could find puzzle pieces, but those instructions would be communicated verbally in the local Chichewa language. Teams could translate the language using a blackboard of helpful words, find their pieces in the lake, and construct a statue with them to get their next clue.

Answer: 'Separate'

After the Intersection, teams headed off to one of two Detour tasks. This time, the choice was between 'Cultivate' and 'Separate'. In 'Cultivate', teams had to work in a field by harnessing two oxen to a plough and creating eight furrows in which they could plant crops. If they could do this in straight lines, they could move on. In 'Separate', teams instead constructed thatched fences to separate parts of a property for a newlywed Zambian couple. When completed to a local's approval, they received their next clue. both tasks were completed in Mukuni Village. Tom and Tyler, Tim and Rod, Femi and Nick, and Viv and Joey all completed 'Cultivate'; Jasmin and Jerome and Sid and Ash completed 'Separate'.

Answer: Tim and Rod

At Khongorya Els, teams were handed their Detour, a choice between 'Milk the Best' and 'Herd the Rest', and in both tasks, teams had to complete daily nomadic chores involving goats. For 'Milk the Best', teams needed to engage with the goats a lot closer, milking them until they had enough to fill a container to a marked amount. In 'Herd the Rest', teams instead had to wrangle goats, catching four the proper way and marking them with team colours. Although Jasmin and Jerome started the task, only Tim and Rod completed 'Milk the Best' with the other seven teams electing to complete the ore physical herding task.

Answer: Tom and Tyler

After the Road Block, teams headed to the location of their next Pit Stop at Wat Suwannaram, but before they could check in they needed to intricately gold leaf an entire statue of Ganesh as an offering and bring it with them to the mat. Leading for most of the leg, Tim and Rod claimed a first place prize, winning themselves a trip for two to the Northern Territory from Holidays Australia, Discover Northern Territory, and Jetstar. They were followed by Viv and Joey in second and, coming in from behind, Jasmin and Jerome in third. In a surprise upset, Tom and Tyler dropped to the back of the pack as a result of the U-Turn and were the final team eliminated from the race.

Answer: 'Herd the Rest'

Teams had two Detours during their two-leg stay in Mongolia. In Leg 5, teams headed out to the dunes of the Gobi Desert to complete one of two tasks before heading to the Pit Stop. One team (Tim and Rod) went after 'Milk the Best' while seven other teams herded goats in 'Herd the Rest'. In Leg 6, teams visited Ulaanbaatar again where five teams learned a traditional folk dance in the 'Dance' Detour and two moved around the markets for 'Deliver'.

Answer: Viv and Joey

Completing the puzzle on the shores of Lake Malawi, teams then needed to race on foot to the nearby Lifuwu Village where they could check into the next Pit Stop. Tom and Tyler ended up landing on the mat first, once again winning the leg; it was the seventh time they ended up winning a leg, and their third in a row on their streak. Despite a U-Turn in play during this leg of the race, it was Viv and Joey who fell to last during the last few task of this leg and they landed on the mat for the final non-elimination and allowed to race again.

Answer: Sid and Ash

After completion of the Detour, teams returned to their vehicles to receive a message from home containing their next clue directing them to the Livingstone Island Launch Site. Once there, teams had to board a local ferry along the Zambesi to take them to collect a clue from atop Victoria Falls. This clue would direct them into Mosi-a-Tunya National Park to check into the seventh Pit Stop at the Elephant Cafe. Teams heading along this route were required to stay on the path to avoid disrupting the local ecosystem. Nevertheless, Tom and Tyler pulled back into the lead position for the fifth time this race, winning the leg. Sid and Ash, held back by a wait for a ferry, were last to hit the mat not only because of the delay, but because they struggled getting out of their vehicle upon arrival. Fortunately for them, this was a non-elimination leg.

Answer: Chris and Adrienne

Completing the Detour in this leg, teams received one final clue wherein one team member needed to hop on the back of a camel while their team member navigated their way through the dunes to the Pit Stop with nothing more than a compass. The track would take them about a kilometre in one direction before heading north to the mat. When it all shook out, Jasmin and Jerome swapped Detours and Femi and Nick went the wrong way to the Pit Stop, allowing Tom and Tyler to catch up. It led to a three-way footrace in which Jasmin and Jerome were the first team to have all four feet on the mat, finally knocking Tom and Tyler out of the lead position. Near the back of the pack there was another close race between four teams that led Chris to fall off his camel. That was only part of the problem, however; Viv and Joey went the wrong direction. They were only able to stay in the race because Chris broke several ribs in his fall. Chris and Adrienne were eliminated in eighth overall without checking into the Pit Stop.

Answer: Rowah and Amani

Completing the Road Block, teams had to make their way by taxi and on foot to the race's third Pit Stop at Moc Hoa Vien at the base of Hang Múa, a mountain in Hoa Lư. Tom and Tyler blasted through the Road Block with Tom finding a coin on his first rice package, and it led the friends to claim their third win in a row, landing on the Pit Stop mat to snag a hat trick. The end of the leg came down to a battle at the Road Block with teams continuing to search for ancient coins. It left Rowah and Amani at the bottom of the leaderboard and they were the last to check in at the Pit Stop. Fortunately for them, it was a non-elimination leg, and they were spared going into Leg 4.

Completing the Detour, teams were required to make their way to Seoullo 7017 Bridge for their first Pit Stop of the race where Beau would be waiting to eliminate the last team to arrive. Tom and Tyler, who led the entire leg, ended up landing on the mat first, stepping on the mat as night began to fall. After driving hours out of the way on the back of the wrong postcard in Namsan Tower, Alana and Niko didn't make it to their Road Block task in time to complete it and they were sent directly to the Pit Stop to be eliminated in eleventh.

Answer: Darwin

Leaving Bangkok, Thailand at the start of the final leg of the race, the final three teams flew to the Northern Territory (via Singapore), stopping off in the city of Darwin. Upon arriving back in their home country, teams needed to search through Darwin International Airport for a representative from Jetstar who would hand them their next clue. And from there, off teams hopped into taxis and headed to their next task at the Darwin Waterfront Precinct.

In Leg 7, teams flew from Mongolia to Zimbabwe, then crossing the border on foot into Zambia for a series of tasks. The Detour was given to teams in the rural Mukuni Village, and there, they had the opportunity to work the fields or perform essential chores at local homes. In the 'Cultivate' Detour option, completed by Tom and Tyler, Tim and Rod, Femi and Nick, and Viv and Joey teams needed to plough eight furrows in a field while in 'Separate', completed by Jasmin and Jerome and Sid and Ash teams had to build fences on a Zambian property.

Answer: Buried in sand dunes

Teams spent their night at the fifth Pit Stop in the Mongolian Desert, beginning Leg 6 with a clue telling them to direct vehicles into the Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes. Once there, teams needed to climb up to a marked area on the dunes and dig for their next clue found within one of several boxes. This task had a four hour time limit due to the Gobi's extreme temperatures, and if teams couldn't locate their clue in that time, they would incur a two hour penalty at the next Pit Stop. Two teams took this penalty.

Answer: Eight & 8

Arriving at the Big Buoy Water Park in the Darwin Waterfront Precinct, teams had to locate eight correct copies of the 'Northern Territory News' scattered around the edge of the water, each of which would have a cryptic headline relating to an event occurring during the race. If they could hand off the proper headlines they could receive their next clue from the paper's editor and collect a clue telling them to fly three hundred miles inland to Katherine, Northern Territory.
