Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first leg of the race, team members completed a Road Block on a flyboard in which river?

Answer: Han River

The first leg of this season of the race was set entirely in the city of Seoul, South Korea, so racers traveled along the Han River, cutting right through, quite a bit. For this first Road Block task, team members needed to ride on a flyboard out in the river and maneuver the contraption so that they could levitate two meters above the water. Once their line extended to that certain length they could get their next clue and continue on.

This task was done by Tyler, Joey, Mikayla, Jasmin, Tim, Nick, Rowah, Adrienne, Ash, and Judy. Alana also elected to take on this task, but she and Niko arrived too late in the day to attempt it.
2. Team members needed to be lucky to complete the Road Block in Leg 3 (in Ninh Binh, Vietnam) since they had a random shot at finding which of these?

Answer: Coin

For the third leg's Road Block task, teams needed to pick a team member based on the prompt 'Who's Feeling Lucky?'. For this task, they had to visit a restaurant in Ninh Binh, Vietnam and pick one of three hundred banana leaf-wrapped packages of rice searching for one of nine containing an ancient Vietnamese coin. If they didn't find the coin, they had to eat the rice and any other contents (chili peppers, for instance).

While some team members found the coin on the first try, others went through dozens of packages in their search before heading to the Pit Stop.
3. There were no Road Blocks in either Legs 4 or 5.

Answer: True

By the time teams went into the sixth leg of the race, there were only two Road Blocks to have appeared (one in Leg 1 and one in Leg 3), accounting for one of the lowest Road Block totals in the first half of any "Amazing Race" series (internationally or otherwise).

Instead, teams competing in Vietnam and Mongolia were privy to consistent Detours (in each leg) and even a Fast Forward task in Leg 4.
4. How many racers completed the Mongolian wrestling Road Block found outside Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in Leg 6?

Answer: Seven

The sixth leg of the race featured seven teams and all of them were able to make it through the Road Block with minimal hassle. That being said, two teams were unable to complete the previous task within the time allotted, so they faced a two hour time penalty going through the leg. Sid, Tim, Jerome, Joey, Tom, Nick, and Hayley completed this Road Block, the third of the race, for which they had to memorize a Mongolian chant and perform it to commence a wrestling match. If they did so to the approval of the wrestlers, they could receive a hat they could trade for their clue.
5. In Zambia in Leg 7, team members had to ride in which of these unique forms of transport during the Road Block to search for their next destination?

Answer: Microlight

Heading to Zimbabwe and Zambia in the seventh leg of the race, the six remaining teams eventually made it to the Batoka Sky Aerodrome where they needed to choose one team member to head into the skies in a microlight aircraft. While flying above the African savannah, the selected team member needed to locate six letters scattered along the landscape and then unscramble them to spell out the name of their next destination: 'Mukini'.
Ash, Jerome, Rod, Tyler, Viv, and Femi soared in this specific task before reuniting with their partners.
6. The eighth Leg of the race took teams to Zimbabwe. During this Leg of the race, teams had to strap into harnesses for which of these activities?

Answer: Swing

The eighth Leg of the team pushed teams towards popular "Amazing Race" site Batoka Gorge, where one member of each pair had to strap in and perform a terrifying gorge swing over the Zambesi River to collect their next clue. Tom, Rod, Joey, Femi, Jerome, and Sid were all selected to complete this task.

In a surprise task, Sid and Ash were were required to complete the Road Block twice for their Speed Bump, meaning that when Sid finished the swing, Ash also had to take the plunge before they could keep racing.
7. During Leg 10, team members had to construct how many sandals in a market in Malawi?

Answer: Four

Making their way to Lizulu Market in Lilongwe, Malawi, teams had to choose one team member who 'wouldn't tyre out', and that prompt ended up being a bit misleading as the selected teammate needed to watch a difficult demonstration and create two pairs of sandals using scraps of rubber tyres. If Tim, Tyler, Nick, Jerome, and Joey could do so to the approval of a local cobbler, they could continue racing.
8. In Leg 11's Road Block, team members needed to fit patients with dentures in what country?

Answer: Thailand

The penultimate leg of the race ended up sending teams to the city of Bangkok, Thailand, and there, teams capped off their day with a Road Block task at the Kudi Khao Community Center. There, the selected team member was required to work with three locals, each missing several teeth, and using provided dentures, they needed to properly fit their patients with their respective matches.

This one was done by Tim, Joey, Tyler, and Jerome before they headed to one last task at their final Pit Stop.
9. The final Road Block of the race, back in Australia, was completed in which state?

Answer: Northern Territory

The entirety of the race's final leg (save for the departure) took teams to Darwin, Katherine, and the Northern Territory of Australia. After a ten thousand foot skydive, teams made their way to the Katherine Outback Experience for the last Road Block in which one member of each team had to work with a cattle dog, teaching it to run a figure-eight agility course, before getting close enough to pet a wild horse.

When both of these tasks were done, teams proceeded to their last tasks. Jasmin, Rod, and Joey claimed this task.
10. How many Road Blocks were encountered during "The Amazing Race Australia 4"?

Answer: Eight

Although many seasons of "The Amazing Race" around the world feature legs with double Road Blocks (in which one team member completes the first and the other is forced to complete the second), this season ended up pulling back on Road Blocks altogether.

In twelve legs of the race, there were only eight Road Blocks (and no doubles). Road Blocks did not appear in Legs 2, 4, 5, and 9 (South Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Malawi) though each of those destinations still had a Road Block in another leg.
