In the opening scenes we see Willie Cutler gun down a casino employee and then run away. Then, the story line shifts backward to 15 hours earlier, where Janice Cutler is found dead inside her home. Janice is Willie's wife, but there is no sign of Willie.

Nick was already there when Grissom drove up in the midst of the desert wind storm. Grissom met up with Jim first and then talked to Nick. She has also guest starred on "Charmed" and "Smallville".

Poor Jerry Gable had eaten himself to death inside the dumpster. Bill Chott portrayed thirty year old Jerry Gable. Chott was also seen on "3rd Rock From the Sun" and an episode of "ER".

I believe this was a fictional location, but I did find a Cupids Wedding Chapel and Receptions listed for Las Vegas. Victoria's and A Secret Garden are also real Las Vegas locations. Each CSI on hand, re-tells the story of their own investigation at Cupid's Kiss, and each one varies slightly from the next. The reason they had to tell the tale, was because all their evidence had been stolen!

Diane knew it had been Valerie, and threatened to have her husband's medical license revoked and Valerie put in prison. So, as Diane was walking out of the reception, Lacey followed her into the dressing room.

Grissom stated it was flesh eating disease and Robbins confirmed she was full of necrotizing fasciitis. This disease usually gets into the body via a wound as strep A bacteria, but they knew hers had to have been injected because her skin was fine. Her organs were all eaten away by the bacteria. She later admitted she'd really been attempting to warn him about Brent.

We learn toward the end of the episode how Jerry acquired the brush of silver on one side of his face. He'd become agitated after a hotdog eating contest and grabbed hold of one of the other contestants. The man was wearing the silver face paint as part of his persona, and some of it transferred to Jerry's face.

Jack was walking around and saying weird things, but he also had a patch over his right eye. When the doctor examined him, he came to the conclusion a lobotomy had been performed through the eye opening, as had happened in days long past. Sneller had removed his blue eye and placed it into the Zoe's right socket, to replace her one brown eye. Both Zoe and Jack had a genetic condition called heterochromia, which means they had eyes of two different colors. Jack and Zoe both had one blue and one brown eye. Celebrities Kate Bosworth, Dan Aykroyd, and Christopher Walken also have this rare trait.

Dan Nobler owned an online gambling service. He told Warrick that Hayden had run up a huge debt to him, and then claimed credit card fraud to get out of paying. Dan sent a threatening fax and paid a visit to the Hayden's home. The CSIs matched debris from Dan's shoe to the Bradford home. Erik Palladino played Dan. Gmail is a real service offered by Google. Danny Masterson played Steven Hyde on "That 70s Show".

Willie and Sammy had been involved in an auto theft when they were younger, for which Sammy spent many years in prison. Sammy had been out of jail for six months at the time of this series of events. Willie said he'd called Sammy when he was losing money at the casino, hoping he'd help Willie out of the problem. He said Sammy came and took him home, where Sammy had ended up murdering Janice. The casino video showed that same scene, but no Sammy ever showed up. He went on to say Sammy had "fixed" things for his brother, by murdering his boss and co-worker as well. Grissom called Brass while Brass was in the hotel room with Cutler. He told Brass that Sammy Cutler had died two months previous, so Willie was 'playing' Brass. Jim confronted Willie about this news, then called out the code word (Jim) to the SWAT team, and Willie fired two shots into Jim.

Lacey followed Diane into the dressing area, after Diane had stumbled out of the reception. Once they were both in the room, Diane threatened to have Lacey charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The CSIs had determined that Diane's Diazepam levels were in between therapeutic and toxic, so Diane may have been right on the attempted murder scenario. Lacey became very angry, and she pushed Diane back, accidentally impaling Diane's head on the cupid's arrow. She then went back to the rest of the bride's party and asked those women to help her get rid of Diane. They decided to tie Diane to the "getaway" car and make it appear as if the Fatelli brothers were the ones who'd killed her. In the end, all of the women admitted to their role in Diane's death. And, while her death was not the intended end result, they admitted it had not really bothered them that she'd died. Amanda Seyfried played Lacey. Amanda starred in the movie "Mean Girls" and on season one of HBO's series "Big Love".

Lady Heather turned out to be Zoe's mother. She hadn't spoken to Zoe in around a year's time. When she saw the picture on the news, she came into Jim's office to identify her daughter. Heather went out of her way to make sure her daughter's torturer was caught.

Jim and Catherine follow the clues provided by Greg. The hotdogs Jerry had consumed had a logo on them of chatter teeth. Greg was able to find the brand name of the hotdogs and the details of the hotdog tournament. Once there, they located the host, Digger James, who'd given Jerry the business card from the day before. Hal Sparks played Digger James, who had an EXEF hat on his head.

In this second part of the season finale, we see the scene again. This time two shots hit him. One hits his upper arm/shoulder area, but the second penetrates his vest in the lung area.

The flower, latin named Amorphophallus titanum, was growing in a small pot outside of a home in the desert. The home belonged to Betz employee Jacob Wolfowitz. This tied Zoe's death back to the clinic where he worked. In reality, the corpse flower only blooms every one to three years and is a challenge to maintain. It does smell like decaying flesh, but does not reach maturity at such a small size. The record for this plant was an eight year old that achieved six feet in height. The flower was assumed to be used as a cover for actual human decomp on the site.

His butler accidently shot him after a duel and placed him on the train tracks. Apparently, it was an honorable death.

Jeff's boss, played by Judd Nelson, had arranged for Jeff to experience a fantasy while on vacation in Vegas. Jeff never knew it was a fake experience. He believed that Heidi was really a 'damsel in distress'. She poured out a fake story, pointing out the 'boyfriend' who'd done her wrong. Jeff believed her and they went on a big adventure. Unfortunately, this adventure ended up with Jeff's murder. Julie Benz, Darla from "Buffy" and "Angel", played Heidi Wolff.

Rita told Grissom that she'd been in labor with the twins for 27 hours. She said that they hadn't wanted to come out even then. She went on to explain that their father had left after a few weeks, and finally family and friends disappeared from their lives in Fresno. So, she packed up her children, moved to Las Vegas, and hid Allison away from the world. Bonita Friedericy played Rita Bradford.

Jerry was continuously restrained by the wrist. This explained the scar tissue found on his body. Well, Susan's boyfriend felt sorry for Jerry and decided to take Jerry with him when he went out. He dropped Jerry off at Circus Town's $1.99 all you can eat buffet. He came back and found Jerry eating massive amounts of foods and decided to enter him into the EXEF's hotdog eating tournament. Jerry took third place, which qualified him for the finals in Atlantic City. Unfortunately, Jerry got away from the boyfriend and ate himself to death. His last meal was found dumpster diving, where he died.
