Clive Robert Benjamin Dunn OBE, born in London in January 1920, is most famous for his role as Lance Corporal Jones in the UK TV sitcom "Dad's Army". Surviving until 2012, at the age of 92 he was the longest-lived of our four 1920-born celebrities.

DeForest Kelley, Doctor McCoy in "Star Trek: The Original Series", was born in January 1920 in Toccoa, Georgia and lived to 79. Patrick Troughton, who became the second incarnation of "Doctor Who" in 1966, was born in North London in March 1920 and lived to 67. Ricardo Montalbán, born Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalbán y Merino in November 1920 in Mexico City, best-known for his performances as Mr. Roarke in TV's "Fantasy Island", lived to 88.

Answer: Carol Channing

Carol Elaine Channing was born in January 1921 in Seattle, Washington. Nominated for an Oscar for the 1967 film "Thoroughly Modern Millie", she won the 1964 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the title role of "Hello Dolly!". Channing celebrated her 95th birthday in January 2016.

Born Donna Belle Mullenger in January 1921 in Denison, Iowa, Donna Reed won the 1953 Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "From Here to Eternity" and later enjoyed success on TV in "The Donna Reed Show" and "Dallas". She died in 1986 aged 64. Born Deborah Jane Kerr-Trimmer in September 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland, Deborah Kerr CBE won a Golden Globe for her performance as Anna Leonowens in the classic 1956 film "The King and I". She was nominated six times for an Oscar. Kerr died in 2007 aged 86. Born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell in June 1921 in Bemidji, Minnesota, Jane Russell was one of Hollywood's primary sex symbols of the 1940s and 1950s. Russell died in 2011 aged 89.

Born Christopher Frank Carandini Lee in May 1922 in London, Sir Christopher Lee CBE first became famous as Count Dracula in the Hammer Horror films of the late 1950s and onwards. He later became a "Bond" villain ("The Man with the Golden Gun"), a Middle Earth wizard (Saruman the White) in the "Lord of the Rings" and "Hobbit" films, and Jedi Master turned dark Count Dooku in the "Star Wars" prequel films in the early 21st century. Lee died aged 93 in 2015.

Aristotelis "Telly" Savalas was born in January 1922 in Garden City, New York. The star of numerous classic movies, he earned an Oscar nomination for the 1962 film "Birdman of Alcatraz", he is perhaps best-known for his title role in the 1970's TV detective series "Kojak". He died aged 72 in 1994. David Paul Scofield CH CBE was born in Birmingham, England on the same day as Savalas. He won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his performance as Sir Thomas More in the 1966 film "A Man for All Seasons". Schofield died in 2008 aged 86. Jason Robards was born in July 1922 in Chicago and was a WWII veteran before becoming a screen hero. He earned two Best Supporting Actor Oscars, for his performance as Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee in the 1976 classic "All the President's Men" and a year later for playing writer Dashiell Hammett in "Julia". Robards died in 2000 aged 78.

Born Anne Carmichael in January 1923 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Anne Jeffreys began as a singer and made her movie debut in " I Married an Angel", a 1942 film starring Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald. On TV, she appeared regularly in "Falcon Crest" in the 1980s and "Baywatch" in the 1990s, but she is best known for the 20 years (1984-2004) she spent as Amanda Barrington in the ABC soap "General Hospital". Jeffreys celebrated her 93rd birthday in January 2016.

Born Jean Murray in January 1923 in New York City, Jean Stapleton is best-known as Edith Bunker, the long-suffering wife of Archie in the 1970s sitcom "All in the Family". She died aged 90 in 2013. Born Estelle Scher in New York City in July 1923, Estelle Getty won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance as Sophia Petrillo in the hit NBC sitcom "The Golden Girls" (1985-92). She died aged 84 in 2008. Born Jean Shirley Verhagen in Chicago, Illinois in August 1923, Jean Hagen was nominated for an Oscar for the 1952 classic film "Singin' in the Rain". On TV, she was nominated three times for an Emmy for her performances as Margaret Williams on 1950s sitcom "Make Room For Daddy" (later "The Danny Thomas Show", the first family sitcom character to be killed off. She died aged 54 in 1977.

Leslie Samuel Phillips CBE, was born in north London in April 1924. He made his film debut in 1940 and became famous as a member of the "Carry On" cast. Younger filmgoers may recognize him only from his voice, as he played the Sorting Hat in the "Harry Potter" series. Phillips celebrated his 92nd birthday in April 2016.

Born Ronald Moodnick in London in January 1924, Ron Moody is most famous for his Oscar-nominated performance as Fagin in the classic 1968 film "Oliver!". He died aged 91 in 2015. Born in New York City in February 1924, Lee Marvin won a Purple Heart as a marine during WWII. He is known for many classic films including his 1966 Best Actor Oscar-winning role in "Cat Ballou". Marvin died aged 63 in 1987. Stars don't come much bigger than Marlon Brando, born in April 1924 in Omaha, Nebraska. Performances as Terry Malloy in "On the Waterfront" in 1954 and as Vito Corleone in the 1972 classic "The Godfather" both earned him Best Actor Oscars. He died aged 80 in 2004.

George Harris Kennedy Jr was born in New York City in February 1925. He won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the 1967 film "Cool Hand Luke", in which he co-starred opposite Paul Newman. He died just 10 days after his 91st birthday in 2016.

Paul Leonard Newman was born in January 1925 in the northern Ohio city of Shaker Heights. Winner of the 1986 Best Actor Oscar for "The Colour of Money", he died aged 83 in 2008. John Uhler Lemmon III, born in February 1925 in the Boston suburb of Newton, Massachusetts, was nominated for eight acting Oscars, winning the 1955 Best Supporting Actor award for "Mister Roberts" and the 1973 Best Actor statuette for "Save the Tiger". Perhaps best-known as half of the "Grumpy Old Men" duo (along with Walter Matthau), Lemmon died aged 76 in 2001. Born Richard Walter Jenkins in November 1925 in the Afan Valley village of Pontrhydyfen in South Wales, Richard Burton CBE was nominated seven times for an acting Oscar without, remarkably, ever winning. One of the great Shakespearean actors of all time and one of Hollywood's highest-paid stars in the 1960s, he died aged 58 in 1984.

Donald Jay Rickles was born in May 1926 in Queens, New York. Although he has played dramatic roles in films, he is best-known as a stand-up comedian. In particular, he was a regular guest of both Johnny Carson and David Letterman on their late-night TV shows. Rickles celebrated his 90th birthday in May 2016.

Born Milton Supman in January 1926 in the town of Franklinton in central North Carolina, Soupy Sales became famous as a presenter of U.S. children's TV shows and as a panellist on numerous TV game shows, notably "What's My Line". He died aged 83 in 2009. Leslie William Nielsen was born in February 1926 in the Canadian city of Regina, Saskatchewan. Best-known for the blockbuster 1980 film "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun" film series, he died aged 84 in 2010. Hugh Francis "Frank" Carson KSG was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in November 1926. One of the great Irish stand-up comedians, he became widely-known through UK TV series such as "The Comedians" and "Tiswas". Carson died aged 85 in 2012.

Other comedy greats also born in 1926 include the insatiable Eric Morecombe, the inimitable Kenneth Williams of "Carry On" fame, Paul Lynde, Andy Griffith, "Telethon" legend Jerry Lewis and all-round funny-man Mel Brooks. A dual-citizen of the Bahamas and the USA, Sir Sidney Poitier KBE was born in Miami, Florida in February 1927. Named in 1999 as one of the top 25 male stars of classic Hollywood cinema, he was the first African-American winner of a competitive Oscar when he won the 1963 Best Actor award "Lilies of the Field". He celebrated his 89th birthday in 2016.

Born Jeanette Helen Morrison in July 1927 in the central California city of Merced, Janet Leigh won a Golden Globe and earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in the classic 1960 thriller "Psycho". The mother of actress Jamie Lee Curtis, Leigh died aged 77 in 2004. Peter Michael Falk was born in New York City in September 1927. Although best-known today for his TV performances as the eponymous "Lieutenant Columbo", he earned two Oscar nominations in the early 1960s. Falk died aged 83 in 2011. George Campbell Scott was born in October 1927 in the town of Wise in southwestern Virginia. He became the first actor to refuse an Academy Award after winning the 1970 Best Actor Oscar for "Patton". He died aged 71 in 1999.

Born William West Anderson in September 1928 in the city of Walla Walla in southern Washington state, Adam West became famous for his performances in the title role of the 1960s ABC series "Batman". He celebrated his 88th birthday in September 2016.

Patrick Joseph McGoohan was born in Queens, New York in March 1928. He is best-known for his performances as the title characters in the UK TV series "The Prisoner" and "Danger Man". He died aged 80 in 2009. Shirley Temple was born in April 1928 in the beachfront city of Santa Monica, a suburb of Los Angeles, California. As a child star, she was Hollywood's number one box office draw in the late 1930s and later in life she served as a US ambassador. She died aged 85 in 2014. George Peppard Jr was in October 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He began his film career co-starring opposite Audrey Hepburn in the classic 1961 film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" but he is best-known today for TV roles as the title character in "Banacek" and as Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith in the 1980s TV series "The A-Team". Peppard died aged 65 in 1994.

She is best-known for her performances as Hyacinth Bucket in the 1990s UK TV sitcom "Keeping Up Appearances", which earned her two BAFTA nominations. Routledge celebrated her 87th birthday in February 2016.

Born Audrey Kathleen Ruston in May 1929 in the Brussels suburb of Ixelles in central Belgium, Audrey Hepburn was nominated five times for a Best Actress Oscar, winning in 1954 for "Roman Holiday". She died aged 63 in 1993. Grace Patricia Kelly was born in November 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She won the 1954 Best Actress Oscar for "The Country Girl" but retired from acting at the age of just 26 to marry Prince Ranier of Monaco. Kelly died aged 52 in 1982. Jean Merilyn Simmons OBE was born in London in January 1929. She won a Best Actress Golden Globe in 1955 for "Guys and Dolls" and was twice nominated for an Oscar, for "Hamlet" in 1948 and for "The Happy Ending" in 1969. Simmons died aged 80 in 2010.
