Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Let's start with an easier one...who had the guts to name his kids Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet and Diva Muffin?

Answer: Frank Zappa

Frank Vincent Zappa (1940-1993) had four children (that we know of) and named the boys Dweezil and Ahmet, and the girls Moon Unit and Diva Muffin. His philosophy can be found on the liner notes of his 1966 album "Freak Out!"; he believed that "...Freaking Out is a process whereby an individual casts off outmoded and restricted standards of thinking, dress and social etiquette in order to express creatively his relationship to his immediate environment and the social structure as a whole".

He lived his life by that philosophy, alternating between cynicism and hilarity. Zappa once said that his only reality was absurdity!
2. Whose daughter is Sailor Lee?

Answer: Christie Brinkley

Christie has three children: Alexa Ray Joel (with Billy Joel), Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook and Jack Paris Brinkley Cook (both with ex-husband Peter Cook). Christie Brinkley (for those who have lived under a rock) is an American fashion model and actress.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she appeared on three consecutive "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue" covers. In her first movie, 1983's "National Lampoon's Vacation", she played "the girl in the Ferrari". In 2012 she appeared on Broadway, where she assayed the role of Roxie Hart in the musical "Chicago".
3. Who is Mamie Gummer's mom?

Answer: Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep (what can you say about her?) was born Mary Louise Streep in Summit, New Jersey. She married Don Gummer in 1978. She has four children: Mamie and Grace who both followed her into acting, Louisa Jacobson Gummer and Henry Wolfe Gummer. She is undisputedly one of the greatest actresses of all time.

She has won Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979), and Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Sophie's Choice" (1982) and "The Iron Lady" in 2011 where she portrayed former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

She doesn't just play the parts, she BECOMES them!
4. Who is the father of a girl named Reignbeau?

Answer: Ving Rhames

Irving Rameses Rhames was born in 1959 and grew up in Harlem, New York. Ving sounds a lot more ominous than Irving; he was given the nickname 'Ving' by his roommate at SUNY Purchase, Stanley Tucci who has also made a name for himself. Rhames attended the High School of Performing Arts (think "Fame") and studied at the prestigious Juilliard School of Drama.

His first break-out role was in the 1994 film "Pulp Fiction" where he played the evil drug dealer Marcellus Wallace, and he hasn't slowed down since.

As far as his progeny, he has two children with his wife, Deborah Reed: a daughter named Reignbeau and a son named Freedom.
5. Which celebrity is the mother of Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper?

Answer: Victoria Beckham

David Beckham's wife Victoria (aka Posh Spice) married the soccer star in 1999 and has children: Harper Seven Beckham (didn't George Costanza want to name his child 'Seven'?), Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, Romeo James Beckham and Cruz David Beckham. Victoria (nee Adams) is British, and a celebrity in her own right: she is a singer and Spice Girl, a model, a businesswoman and a fashion designer - a Renaissance woman! The Victoria Beckham label was started in 2008, has grown exponentially and has expanded the range of its products.

In 2011, Beckham won Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.
6. Who is the maternal grandmother of Bingham Bellamy and Ryder Robinson?

Answer: Goldie Hawn

You may recognize that all of the choices appeared in the film "The First Wives Club", but it is Goldie Hawn who is the grandmother (yes, grandmother) of her daughter Kate Hudson's children, Bingham Hawn Bellamy and Ryder Robinson. It seems Goldie's come a long way from her bikini-clad stint on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" from the late 1960s through the early 1970s ("sock it to" whom?). Did you know that Ms. Hawn won an Academy Award as Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in the 1969 movie "Cactus Flower"? An interesting life...
7. Which former James Bond is the father of the artistically named Dylan Thomas?

Answer: Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan is an Irish actor who has played '007' in movies like "GoldenEye", "The World Is Not Enough", "Die Another Day" and "Tomorrow Never Dies", and "Remington Steele" on TV. He has also had more than his share of tragedy, losing his first wife Cassandra to ovarian cancer in 1991 and his adopted daughter Charlotte to the same illness in 2013.

He remarried Keely Shaye Smith in 2001 and has two sons from the marriage, Dylan Thomas Brosnan and Paris Beckett Brosnan. In 2014, he played an ex-CIA agent named Devereaux who is again called into service (aren't they all?) to fight a former pupil.
8. Which singer is the father of Amber, Saffron and Tallulah?

Answer: Simon Le Bon

Simon Le Bon, musician and lead singer for Duran Duran (and Arcadia) and his model wife Yasmin have three daughters: Amber Rose Tamara Le Bon, Saffron Sahara Le Bon and Tallulah Pine Le Bon. Simon and Yasmin got married in 1985. Simon's group, Duran Duran, was extremely popular in the 1980s and one of the leaders of the "Second British Invasion" of the U.S. Among their biggest hits are "The Reflex", "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "A View to a Kill", and the 1984 'Band Aid' charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas".

In 2011, Le Bon injured his vocal cords and was unable to finish touring.
9. What did Soleil Moon Frye name her kids?

Answer: Lyric, Jagger and Poet

Following in her parents' footsteps, Soleil Moon Frye continued to give her children unusual names. She and her husband Jason Goldberg named their kids Lyric Sonny Roads Goldberg (a son) and two daughters, Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg and Poet Sienna Rose Goldberg.

In case you're too young to know, at seven-years-old, Soleil Moon Frye played the title role on the TV sitcom "Punky Brewster" (1984-1988); the premise of the show was that she and her dog Brandon had been abandoned by her parents (comedy?) and were taken in by a curmudgeonly, Chicago photographer (of course!).

By the way, of the other choices, Moxie, Egypt, India and Aleph are all children of celebrities.
10. What is the name of Nicolas Cage's son?

Answer: Kal-El

I saved the best (?) for last; can you imagine naming your child after the Kryptonian name of a superhero? Nic Cage plays roles that often depict screwy characters; in real life, he has been married multiple times: first to Alice Kim, Lisa Marie Presley (does that make him somehow related to Michael Jackson?) and Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette. Son Weston Coppola Cage (with Nic's ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton) was born in 1990 and Kal-El Coppola Cage was borne by Alice Kim in 2005. Now, tell me again how celebrities are just like 'regular people'...
