This is taken from a 1978 interview. His health started to wane in the late 1970s and he sadly passed away on January 16, 1979 from complications after open-heart surgery. He was survived by his ex-wife (divorced in 1975) and their two children. He may not have been fond of his career but he had a very successful one.
