Best known for his action films (where he does most of his own stunts - that would put worried frowns on insurer's faces), he played the role of Ethan Hunt in six "Mission Impossible" films between 1996 and 2018, as well as starring roles in "Jack Reacher" (2012), "War of the Worlds" (2005) and "The Last Samurai" (2003). Proving that he's more than just a man of action, to date he has also won three Golden Globe Awards and been nominated for three Academy Awards for his acting. Reckon you wouldn't have been able to wipe that smile off his face at all if he could have converted one of those Oscar nominations into a win.

Kerr first made the Forbes list of the world's highest paid models in 2008 and her smiling face would go on to be a regular feature on that list for years to come. She made a two episode appearance but it was good enough to put a smile on Abrams' face because, in 2001, he employed her as CIA agent Sidney Bristow, the star of his action TV series "Alias".

The show certainly put a smile on Garner's face because she earned $40,000 per episode but, as the show's popularity blossomed, this grew to $150,000 per episode.

She smiled all the way to a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress, a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and four nominations for the Emmy Award for Best Actress. In 2005 she married Ben Affleck, who she'd met on the sets of "Pearl Harbor" (2001) and "Daredevil" (2003).

Tiger Woods certainly had a lot to smile about when winning the Masters in 2019, his first major in eleven years, and he exuberantly cheered on that triumphant day. This striking victory came in the wake of a relative dearth of competitive showings owing to a range of personal problems including requiring multiple back surgeries and his 2017 arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In addition to literally being a 'major' winner, he's historically netted a whole horde of records including being the first player to win all four professional major championships in a row and in 2000 having the lowest PGA score average of all time.

"Pretty Woman" (1990) provides us with an implausible story and, as a movie, it is relatively harmless and it lacks in substance... but oh, didn't we fall in love with Julia Roberts. That infectious laugh of hers, that lightbulb of a smile and those eyes that say "I can make you believe this". And so started the world's infatuation with that smile and the woman behind it. We followed her to "Notting Hill" in 1999, to "My Best Friend's Wedding" in 1997 and to "Ocean's Eleven" in 2001. Even the Academy fell in love with her as "Erin Brockovich" in 2000 and gave her an Oscar for it.

In 1990 Julia was paid $300,000 for "Pretty Woman" and that made her smile. She was smiling a lot harder in 2003 when she was paid $25 million for her role in "Mona Lisa Smile".

Don't get me wrong, Arnold does smile, but after seeing him portray hard-nosed action characters, such as the cyborg assassin in "The Terminator" (1984), "Dutch" Schaefer in "Predator" (1987) and Douglas Quaid/Carl Hauser in "Total Recall" (1990), for so many years it doesn't look natural. Even the light hearted romp "True Lies" (1994) struggles to remove the stiffness from it. For all of that Arnold Schwarzenegger has had an imposing presence (which also does little to soften that smile) in whatever field he has entered. Has their ever been a better or more passionate ambassador for the field of bodybuilding, I doubt it.

His commitment to improving as an actor cannot be questioned and his ability to take on roles as the Governor of California should be applauded. Hang on to that smile Arnold... it suits you.
