Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was "Physical" with my role of Sandy in "Grease". Do you know which John I am?

Answer: Olivia

Olivia Newton-John starred as Sandy in the 1978 movie, "Grease" with John Travolta. They danced the 50's dances and just had a great time "shoo wopping" along. Sandy who was 30 at the time, played the role of a high school senior. Not bad Olivia, you pulled it off.

Right after the success of "Grease", Olivia came up with her hit record "Physical". The song turned a few heads. Not little sweet Olivia to come up with this song.
2. "Oh Mandy" he "Writes the Songs" that everyone listens to during "Daybreak". "Even Now" you can hear him singing, "Somewhere in the Night". Which Barry is this?

Answer: Manilow

Barry Manilow was born in Brooklyn back in 1946. Barry started his career with Bette Midler. He decided to venture out on his own and had his first hit "Mandy". His career flourished after this. He headed for the top. I personally saw Barry a few times in concert.

The second time I put a single rose on stage for him. Little did I know that Barry Manilow is not a fan of flowers. Oh well, so much for my wilted rose.
3. "Oh J.R., being married to you is one wild trip. Too bad someone didn't shoot you in Dallas!" Do you know which Gray/Grey I am referring to?

Answer: Linda

Linda Gray was born in sunny California back in 1942. Linda shot to fame in the television show "Dallas" back in 1978. Linda played the role of Sue Ellen Ewing, wife of horrible rotten J.R. Ewing. Sue Ellen started her own lingerie line and didn't need rotten J.R.'s cash. Too bad she didn't shoot J.R., or did she?
4. I directed several movies during my career. "Runaway Bride", "Pretty Woman" and even "Beaches" with Bette Midler. Do you know the first name of this Marshall?

Answer: Garry

Garry Marshall has given the women of this world such great chick flicks. He directed such great television shows such as "Mork and Mindy", Laverne and Shirley" and even "Happy Days". Garry's sister, Penny, was the the star of "Laverne and Shirley". Penny went into the directing field also and directed great movies, such as "Big" and "League of their Own".
5. This "Mac" sang with the Mamas and the Papas for a while. This "Mac" also had a role in the 1973 movie "American Graffiti". Do you know which "Mac" this is?

Answer: Mackenzie Phillips

Mackenzie Phillips was almost doomed from the beginning. Being in the limelight is so tough on children. Mackenzie grew up around stardom with her parents being part of the Mamas and the Papas. Mackenzie won the role of Carol the kid, in the movie "American Graffiti".

She was the kid that John got stuck driving around with all night. Mackenzie went on to star as one of two children to Ann Romano in "One Day at a Time" with Valerie Bertinelli. Mackenzie had a difficult time through her younger years.
6. I've got a smile like "Mona Lisa". I've been told that I could be "America's Sweetheart". Maybe I'll be a "Stepmom" someday, sure that would give everyone "Something to Talk About". Maybe someday I'll "Hook" Tinkerbell. Do you know which Roberts I am?

Answer: Julia

Of course, the beautiful Julia Roberts appeared in all of these movies in the question, along with so many more films. Julia was nominated for his first Oscar for her role in "Pretty Woman" with Richard Gere. Julia didn't win, but she didn't give up either.

She fought tooth and nail and snagged the Oscar for "Erin Brockovich". My favorite part of this movie is when George is asking her out and she comes back with "How 'bout this for a number? Six. That's how old my other daughter is, eight is the age of my son, two is how many times I've been married -- and divorced; sixteen is the number of dollars I have in my bank account. 850-3943. That's my phone number, and with all the numbers I gave you, I'm guessing zero is the number of times you're gonna call it." You go girl!
7. I sang the song "You Don't Own Me" in a movie where my daughter was a lesbian. Do you know which Keaton I am?

Answer: Diane

Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn gave the "First Wives Club" a great run! They teamed up and created one of the best movies around. I absolutely loved the scene where they are on the window washer outside of the window. They are flying down. I mean, literally flying! You can see Diane's hair flying. What a great movie and what a great trio.
8. Hey "Ali", who you gonna fight on "Independence Day"? I'm sure that you'll find some "Fresh Prince" and ride out to the "Wild Wild West". Do you know which Smith I am talking about?

Answer: Will

Will Smith was born in Pennsylvania back in 1968. Will not only took over the "Fresh Prince" role, but he actually had the nickname "Prince" growing up. Will met Jada Pinkett in the series also, Jada and Will were married in 1997. I think Will's greatest roles were with the "Men in Black" series. He's so calm and smooth. What an actor!
9. I portrayed the character "Rusty" in the movie "Footloose" with Kevin Bacon. I loved to dance, dance and dance some more. Which Parker am I?

Answer: Sarah Jessica

Sarah Jessica Parker was born in Ohio back in 1965. Sarah is so sweet and wholesome. Sarah started out in the television series "Square Pegs" back in 1982. She was spotted and was asked to play the small role of Rusty in the movie "Footloose". Jessica played in quite a few movies before scoring with Cage in "Honeymoon in Vegas".

She then shot to stardom with her television series "Sex and the City". Jessica was up for an Emmy for 5 years in a row, but never picked one up for "Sex and the City".

She did pick up a few Golden Globes though.
10. This actor won his first Oscar in 1993. He was actually nominated for two different movies that year. Do you know which "Al" won his first Oscar that year?

Answer: Al Pacino

Al won his first Oscar for the 1992 movie, "The Scent of a Woman" where he played a blind man with Chris O'Donnell.

Al Pacino had been nominated six times before picking up the Oscar. Al Pacino is probably one of the best actors of all time. His role of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade showed us that you can do anything you want. Even a small handicap like blindness won't stop you. Drive a car? No problem! Al has scored so many classics over the years, it's hard to come up with a favorite. If I had to select, it would be for "Dog Day Afternoon". Let's cheer for the bad guys!

Thanks for playing. Have a great day!
