Answer: Ewan McGregor

Ewan McGregor was born in Perth and studied drama at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He began his professional career on television for the BBC, and his breakout role was as a heroin addict in 1996's "Trainspotting." McGregor won an Empire Award for that role, and was nominated for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for both "Moulin Rouge" (2001) and "Salmon Fishing in Yemen" (2012).

Answer: Mary, Queen of Scots

Mary, Queen of Scots was only six days old when her father, James V, died and the throne passed to her. She was married as a teenager to the Dauphin, and, when he died of an infection, married her cousin, who died mysteriously in the palace gardens. Her third husband had been charged with the murder of her second. And all through this time, she had a strong claim to the English throne, threatening her powerful cousin, Elizabeth I. Elizabeth eventually put an end to that, and to Mary, by sentencing her to death. Her son, from her second marriage, went on to rule both Scotland and England and became known as James VI and James I.

William Wallace's history is spotty in places, and he's become almost a folk hero, but he was a real person, a member of the minor aristocracy who was fiercely loyal to Scottish independence. He was eventually captured by the British crown and executed by particularly brutal methods.

Mel Gibson directed and starred in the movie "Braveheart" in 1995, which was based on Wallace's life, though somewhat loosely. In the movie, Wallace would wear blue face paint in battle.

Answer: Craig Ferguson

Craig Ferguson was born in Glasgow and was influenced by a trip to New York as a teen so much that he vowed to move to America someday. After playing drums in a punk band and cutting his teeth in comedy and acting, he moved to Los Angeles in 1994. He was tapped by David Letterman to take over "The Late Late Show" in 2005, and starred on that show to considerable critical and ratings success until he left in 2014.

Sean Connery was born in Edinburgh in 1930, the son of a cleaner and a factory worker. Sean was a milk man, an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy, and a bodybuilder, along with many other part-time jobs, before moving into acting. He had a long career not just as James Bond but in many other films. He has supported the Scottish independence movement.

Sheena Easton's breakout song was "9 to 5 (Morning Train)" about a woman waiting for her beloved to return home to her on the train. In 1982, she won the Grammy for Best New Artist, and was nominated for the same award when she released "U Got the Look," a song written by the musician Prince.

Sheena has also appeared on the small screen, including roles on "Miami Vice," "ALF," and "The Outer Limits."

One of his most famous poems was actually a song, "A Red, Red Rose" which starts with these famous lines: O my Luve's like a red, red rose
