Julie Walters was born in the West Midlands and in 1983 was nominated for an Oscar in 1983 her role as "Rita" in the film "Educating Rita" (1983) playing a working class hairdresser who decides to "better herself" by taking an Open University course, she lost out to "Shirley Maclaine" (1983) for "Terms of Endearment", story of a mother and daughters relationship during the daughters fight against cancer.

Julie Walters started out on television in the early 80's with her comedy partner "Victoria Wood" with whom she still works quite regularly up until this day.

David Jason was born in Edmonton, North London.

He proved he was Britain's best loved actor in September 2006, when the British public voted him No1 TV Star in Britain.

David is most famous for his role as "Del Boy" the wide boy South Londoner in probably the most famous sitcom in Britain "Only Fools and Horses". This role was originally offered to "Jim Broadbent" who turned it down for Theatre roles. David is also the voice of cartoon character "Dangermouse".

Sue Johnston started out as a Tax Inspector but then attended Weber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

She was in the first ever episode for the Channel 4 Soap Opera "Brookside" which started on the 2nd November 1982, she is probably more famous now for playing long suffering mum "Barbara Royle" in the sitcom "The Royle Family", which she stars alongside her "Brookside" husband "Ricky Tomlinson".

Jim Broadbent won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as John Bayley in "Iris" (2001) opposite "Dame Judi Dench", the film tells the true story of Iris Murdoch the writer and philosopher and her relationship with her husband John Bayley from his perspective from when they first met to many years later when he was caring for her as she has developed Alzheimer's Disease.

Jim is Honorary President of the Lindsey Rural Players whose home theatre is Broadbent Theatre built by his father Roy Broadbent in 1971.

Kate has received five Oscar Nominations, she is the youngest actress to date to have received this many. Something to be proud of I think.

The role that bought him most notoriety and had him hailed as the next Olivier" was that of Arthur Seaton in the 1960 film "Saturday Night Sunday Morning" a story of northern life working class life, working hard Monday to Friday and living it up on a Saturday night as the film tagline says "Saturday night you have your fling at life...and Sunday morning you face up to it!".

Although a double Golden Globe winner Joan is as famous for being married to "Laurence Olivier" as she is for her acting.

Joan like many of our British actor and actresses started her career on stage. She trained at the Queen Victoria in London and made her stage debut in 1951, she met her future husband Laurence Olivier in "The Entertainer" in 1957 at the Palace Theatre.
